[Two sets of stairs, one on either side of the Captain's door, leads up to the quarter deck. This is where the ship's steering is located.]
Landon Beck, the ship's captain, stands at the edge of the quarter deck, observing his crew's work. He knows that soon they will be merging with the boat's location in the mortal realm a few hours after it has already docked, as always. This delay is to allow for innocents to have their appetites wettened and for them to overcome any hesitations and board the ship - permanently and without any interference from him.
The young captain feels the shift, having become attuned to it through decades of experiencing it. And every time he hopes and prays that he will not find "new recruits" aboard his ship, unknowingly sealing their own fate to that of the ship's - to sail the seas endlessly without ever returning to land. There have been times where he has seen his prayers answered. Unfortunately, this is not one of them.
Right before his eyes, the forms of Daria, Jade and Clark appear upon the deck of his ship, in much the same manner that the three experience the sudden arrival of the pirates. Though Landon knows that it is them intruding on the world of these innocents, in more ways than one. (Dammit! Why must I bear this hardship?)
Resigning himself to his duty, Landon walks towards the steps to his right, dragging his hand along the railing that encircles the quarter deck. Slowly, he descends the steps, taking them one at a time until he reaches the main deck.
