Title: Parking Lot
Description: Outside

Construction - March 16, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
[This is the mall's parking lot.]

Daria Fallen - January 9, 2008 06:58 PM (GMT)
As Daria pulls the car passed the entrance to the mall, she sees Moira pacing around, watching as people passed her. She smiles and gives her a wave before heading towards a vacant parking space. Which wasn't as easy as it sounded. The place was packed. She finally finds one about two minutes of walking from the main entrance and pulls the car into the space. She turns to car off and reaches around to grab her purse, still waiting for Jade to answer her. She would totally understand if she didn't want to talk about it with a near complete stranger. But as Daria's arms comes back around from the back seat, her long nail catches Jade's arm, scratching it. The witch's eyes bulge. "Oh, God, I'm so sorry!" She shouts, digging through her purse for something to put on the scratch. Nothing.

Jade Spring - January 13, 2008 07:11 PM (GMT)
“Just the usual stuff. Nothing exciting” Is the vague answer Jade offers in reply to Daria’s question as they pull into the parking lot. She wouldn’t dare go into detail about it; especially not to a mortal woman she only became friends with this morning. However, she doesn’t mind the intrusiveness of the question; she just hopes the nosey questions don’t become a running theme. That could become quite annoying. (I just need to play nice, boring mortal girl. I can do that)

Jade unbuckles her belt, preparing to exit the vehicle. That is until a quick pain cuts across her arm closest to Daria. “Ah” She gasps, her dark orbs staring down at the scratch. (Stupid woman.) “It’s ok…” Her words don’t match her thoughts at all. Though the gypsy woman doesn’t really mean them, it was just an accident after all.

Hey eyes still hovering over the minor scratch, Jade let’s out another gasp when an unforeseen consequence occurs. Due to her unknown regenerative abilities, the scratch heals completely before her eyes. It slowly disappears, fading into nothingness. Now, she’s always been a pretty fast healer, but this is supernaturally fast. A scratch doesn’t heal that quickly. This is a new power - the power to heal. (Oh my god…)

Suddenly, Jade becomes aware of the company she is in, having been totally consumed with her revelation. Her eyes shoot over to Daria, a tinge of fear lurking in her expression. She hasn’t just unintentionally revealed her magic to a mortal again, has she?

Daria Fallen - January 15, 2008 02:08 AM (GMT)
Daria's eyes move back to the scratch, hoping not to see too much damage. But instead, she sees nothing. As in, no scratch, no blood, no mark at all. Her brows furrow. How could a mortal ... (She's not a mortal!) Her eyes meet with Jade's, who's were filled with fear. Though it was clear her fear was directed towards Daria and not the fact that there was no mark from her wound. Typically, Daria would be vague, putting on a mortal show of shock and fear. But the woman's eyes told her not to. Instead, a slow smile forms on her lips.

"Well ... That would explain your ... Odd behaviour when we first met." She suggests, hoping to ease any of the woman's fears about exposure. It was something that was drilled into her from what she suspected to was birth. "I'm going to guess witch?" She says as friendly as possible. She certainly remembered the hell of the Witch Trials and how hard it was to suppress her true self. "I imagine you went through hell with the Witch Trials." Daria suggests as gently as possible to show the woman that there was nothing to fear. By this point, Daria had surmised that whatever higher powers there were allowed the magical community to retain knowledge of what had happened while erasing it from the memories of mortals.

Jade Spring - January 16, 2008 05:24 PM (GMT)
Jade’s brow rises when Daria shows no apparent fear at her little display of magic. A burst of relief pours over her, yet this momentary bliss is replaced by a wave of confusion. (She’s not a mortal!...and she isn’t trying to attack and/or capture me, so she isn’t a demon or warlock either…witch maybe?)

This is when Daria accuses her of being a witch – the accusation mimicking her own thoughts of what the woman next to her must be. “No actually…I’m a gypsy” She says a little restively, not being used to being so open with people. She never told a soul of her powers in her entire life, not counting the little exposure blip she had.

(She knows about the trials too…) Jade murmurs internally, having come to the same conclusion hours ago – that only magical folk will remember the hell the mortals put them through. (They don’t look so innocent now) She runs a hand through her dark locks, thinking over how difficult her life has been recently.

“Yes” Jade replies softly. “Been on the run for quite a while now…like near the beginning. Before the executions even began” She continues her story, a weight lifting off of her. It feels so good to have someone to talk to about this. She has been on her own for god knows how long, a little too long. (I’ll refrain from telling her of my demon days…she’d more than likely turn on me faster than I could say ‘ka-pow’)

“So you’re a witch?” (I wonder what powers she’s packing…) “Oh and my name is Jade” She finishes sheepishly. There is no need to keep up the charade anymore and this is the perfect opportunity to get it out into the open. “I hope you can understand why I lied about my name. I didn’t want anyone identifying me…”

Daria Fallen - January 17, 2008 01:51 AM (GMT)
Daria smiles when Jade appears to be relieved and not frightened. This situation could have gone many different ways. This is what Daria had been hoping for. From the moment she met Jade she could see that she needed someone to talk to. Daria is glad she can be that person. (A gypsy ... Never met a gypsy before. Though Grams always told me stories about them.) The premonition witch smiles at the thought of her grandmother.

As Jade speaks, Daria listens, but catches the woman not going too far. She wonders what it is that the woman is still hiding from her. But nonetheless, the woman obviously feels very relieved at being able to share her story; however little amount of her story that is. Daria nods confirmation that she is a witch. She's about to go into a little more detail, seeing as Jade had shared with her, until the woman discloses that she had lied about her identity.

She pauses for a moment, taking in this information. Something about how she says it tells her she didn't want to lie, but felt the need to lie. Someone really bad must have been after her. Demons? Warlocks? But that's natural ... "It's alright, I can understand." Daria assures her friend. "I can hide my abilities. You can't." She explains, indicating the wound. "I'd change my name, too." She says with a grin. She pauses, her facial expressions become a little more serious. "Thank you, Jade. For telling me. It takes a lot of courage to do that." She tells her, feeling more than glad to be the person Jade opens up to. At least it's not some demon under cover or something, someone who could do some damage. Now Jade had backup. Safety in numbers, right?

Jade Spring - January 23, 2008 03:24 PM (GMT)
“Well actually I can usually hide my abilities” Jade corrects the witch, her eyes returning back to where the small scratch had been just moments before. “This” she refers to her healing ability. “Is a new thing. I’ve never just healed before” (Why now? I lost all my demonic abilities so it can’t be a demonic thing…but maybe it’s a side effect? Or perhaps it is the reason I returned to being a gypsy in the first place? It healed the good in me? Returned my soul?)

A warm smile etches across Jade’s face, happy that Daria is so understanding. She now has back up if Xazor ever does send someone after her, however unlikely that might be. She was never his star pupil after all; she never truly had the killer instinct that the Demonic Academy so highly values. Jade still can’t help but feel like she doesn’t know much about the woman, other than the simple fact that she is a witch. She has done the chit chat thing with her, but she wants to discover something of real substance about her new friend.

“So what are your powers?” Jade inquires, her amber orbs meeting Daria’s own dark ones. “I can levitate…and well as you’ve just seen, heal apparently”. (No that’s not right; the power to heal means the ability to heal others…what’s the word for self healing? Regeneration? Yes that’s it! Regeneration)

Daria Fallen - January 24, 2008 06:28 PM (GMT)
Daria leans back a little, relaxed somewhat, in the seat of the car as they begin sharing something other than small talk. She gives a somewhat surprised look that Jade's regeneration ability is new. She thinks back for any explination that her grandmother may have given her. All she could think was that the girl's powers were growing. Only having heard a few rumours here and there about a demonic acadamy, it's the last thing she would think of. At least, until Jade gave her a little more information. (Two powers? Hm. I'm tempted to be jealous. That explains how she thought she could hide her ability. She didn't know about the regeneration.)

"Just premonitions." She says with a smile that hides a hint of sadness. "I can't control them. They just ... Show up at random. They can be of the future or the past, but it's usually hard for me to distinguish the difference." She explains. "So ... You've always known you were a gyspy?" She asks. Grams had told her that more often than not these days, people grew up not knowing about their powers and true heritage. That was the case with herself; her mother refused to raise she and her sisters as witches for fear of what might happen if they were exposed. "I didn't find out I was a witch until I was about seven or eight." She explains. "My mother was always afraid of what might happen to my sisters and I if we knew about our heritage." She shakes her head, resenting her mother for keeping that from her. Ever since she found out, she always blamed her mother for her powers not manifesting sooner. She always thought that if she'd known, she would have had them sooner. BUt there was no way to tell now.

Jade Spring - January 25, 2008 12:38 AM (GMT)
Just premonitions?!” Jade exclaims, stressing the ‘just’. “I think that would be an awesome power to have. I’d kill for it” (Well I wouldn’t literally kill for it, at least not anymore.) The gypsy muses sharply, a little shocked by Daria passing her ability off like some sort of two-bit trick. It would be a great asset to possess, especially for a witch, with all the supernatural on goings they tend to face. She can’t believe how ungrateful the woman seems. She shouldn’t put down her ability, not in any way shape or form. It might just desert you one day. (Perhaps I should tell her about the demon thing before she gets a premonition about it and finds out for herself)

“Aw, that’s too bad. You were still pretty young though when you found out. It couldn’t have stunted your magical development too much” Jade attempts to comfort the woman, feeling that the premonition witch has some bitter feelings about her mother’s behaviour. It’s understandable and she can see both sides to the story, but she does have to side with Daria on this. Her mother should have told her, it’s her birthright. You can’t deny that to anyone. “But yeah, I’ve pretty much always known. I haven’t always been an active practitioner, but I’ve always known. I didn’t really start exploring it till I developed my power to levitate…”

Jade brushes a hand through her dark locks, starting to feel a lot more comfortable around the woman. She totally forgets about their need to meet up with the other women, too consumed with the friendship she is building right now. “I’ve just realised. Our powers both sorta represent one of the elements. Mine would be air, your's water. All we’d need is an earth and a fire and we’d have ourselves a nice little circle” (A coven of sorts) She smiles brightly at the thought, always having wanted to belong to a coven. She’s always been a solitary practitioner…it gets kinda lonely.

“So what’s your forte? Spells? Potions? Kicking demon-butt?”

Daria Fallen - January 25, 2008 02:22 AM (GMT)
Daria laughs at Jade's shock about her feelings towards her powers. It more than likely had more to do with the fact that her power only surfaced a few years ago. But she didn't know how far it had advanced. And the fact that she couldnt' call on her power when she needed it most really sucked. She was never good at trusting someone else -that being any higher power that existed- to give her what she needed when she needed it. She always liked having an aspect of control over things.

She nods, a quarky grin on her face. "Yeah, I guess." She says, still not really sure about it. "I hope you're right." She says, looking back to Jade with a greatful smile. It wasn't often that someone comforted her. Gabriel was away a lot and Elise was still a child. "You're lucky." She says, wishing once more that she had always known.

She thinks about Jade's proposition. She'd never thought about it that way. Ever. Her older sister could be considered earth ... Telekinesis? Possibly. BUt she didn't think that she would want to join their little circle. They didn't really stay in contact much anymore. "That'd be fun for sure." She agrees. It would be nice to have a little coven of her own; people other than her family to perform rituals with.

She giggles, yes, giggles, at Jade's question. "All of the above, actually." She informs the woman in the passenger seat. "I didn't gain my Premonitions until a few years ago so I took up Martial Arts when I was a teenager. I now have second degree black belt in Jui Jitsu and Taekwando. I was also the one doing the spells and potions for my sisters and grandmother. so I excelled in those areas quite a bit." She informs her new gypsy friend. "What about you? What do yo uexcel at?"

Jade Spring - January 25, 2008 02:49 PM (GMT)
Jade’s brow twitches as Daria presents her with an answer to her question. The woman excels in all areas? That’s a bit intimidating. She herself doesn’t struggle in particular when it comes to the different forms of magic, but she doesn’t shine. (Maybe she’s just being a bit over confident…She can’t be that powerful if she only has such a limited power)

“Hmm…” Jade bites down on her bottom lip, judging what she’d say she’s best at. “I’d probably have to say I’m best at potions. That’s quite common with gypsies though…we have a knack for it” She explains, not sure how researched the woman is on her kind. “I have been trained in combat though. My power of levitation really helps with that” (Should I tell her where I got trained? I mean, she’s bound to get a premonition sooner or later about the academy. It’s been a major event in my life…the things I have which have been there must be dripping with psychic residue!)

“Erm…Daria. I don’t really know how to put this, so I’m just going to come out and say it” Jade shuffles in her seat, a little uncomfortable in saying what she’s about to say. “Awhile back, I enrolled myself into the demonic academy. I turned myself into a demon and well…did some things I’m not very proud of” The raven haired gypsy pauses, her amber orbs tinting with guilt. “I never killed an innocent though. Never. And for reasons unknown the transformation undid itself – I lost all my demonic powers and reverted back to the gypsy I was” (Please understand)

Daria Fallen - January 25, 2008 03:57 PM (GMT)
"Well, I did have years to perfect spells and potions ... " Daria quickly interjects. She sensed the woman's discomfort that she excelled in these areas. "And I had nothing else to defend myself, so I had to do something, right?" She says, hoping that she hadn't jsut ruined a perfectly good friendship. But Jade continues and the witch breathes, believing that she hadn't done any harm. (Perhaps I can help her with her spells. Although Irecall Grams saying something about gypsies performing rituals instead ...)

Daria nods. "So I've heard." Daria smiles, then almost blushes, looking into her lap for a moment. "My ... Grandmother taught me a lot about the magical community." She explains quickly. "SHe was ana amazing teacher." She finishes. (My God, I make it sound like the woman's dead! Although I haven't seen her in a few years ... I should probably stop for a visit. I have the time now with classes being out for the summer. I'll stop by on Sunday. Ooh, and I'll bring Jade, too! Oh that would be wonderful! Grams'd love another student!)

As Daria makes these plans in her mind, Jade musters up the courage to tell her about the acadamy. (So the rumours are true ... But I thought it was only mortals who could ...) Daria closes her eyes momentarily, trying not to picture what the place must be like. She looks back at Jade, trying to figure out what to say next. She knew what Jade wanted to hear, but she wanted to be completely honest with her so she takes her time responding. As it turns out, what Jade wanted to hear and what Daria felt were the same. She offers a warm smile and pats her on the arm. "At least you made your way back here somehow." She says assuringly. She gives the woman's arm a reassuring squeeze. "Whatever powers that be must have known where your heart truly lies and made the decision to transform you for you so that you didn't have to." Then something strikes her.

"This means I bet there's people after you, right?" She says, only sounding slightly alarmed. "God, no wonder you were so jittery at the park and breakfast this morning!" She exclaims with a laugh, all the pieces coming together now. "Well, don't worry, honey. I won't let anyone come and take you away." She says with a grin, but in a firm tone. "I don't let anyone hurt my friends."

Jade Spring - January 25, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
(Thank the gods) Jade can’t help but grow a light smile at Daria’s reaction. It couldn’t have gone better. The woman is incredibly open minded and understanding - two qualities she is ecstatic the premonition witch possesses. (If I was in her position I don’t think I’d have been so accepting) She’s one hundred percent positive that she can trust Daria now – she’s told her everything there is to say; all her dirty little secrets and she’s accepted them all. Today certainly is turning out to be her day.

“Right” Jade nods in agreement. She can’t help but chuckle at the witch’s exclamation, having to agree that she had acted rather odd this morning. She was so on guard; it was hard for her to relax when she knew a whole lot of people were after her. She’s happy all of that is finally over with. She’s happy she now has Daria as a friend.

“Thanks, that really means a lot” Jade replies softly. She knows already that Daria could be a fantastic help to her. Her power of premonition could really help, especially if a demon was to attack. She could prepare and make the battle an easy win. Plus Jade has a feel for how Xazor would try to capture her – not directly, no he’s far too important for that, he’d send someone after her, just like he’d sent Jade after Leila. She knows the curriculum. She knows how they fight. She has the upper hand this time; she’ll sure give them a run for their money.

“But this demon. The one that would be after me – Xazor. He’s really powerful. I mean, he works directly for the source!” She stresses how strong the creature is, images of his hideous demonic form filtering into her mind. “And he has an army of demons and warlocks at his disposal. I could fight them off - but eventually one will get me. That is if I don’t get Xazor first” (He wouldn’t expect that. He would never dream that I would come after him) “I just need to kill some time…get stronger. I’m no where near powerful enough to even attempt to challenge him now” (He’ll probably have me killed before I have the chance to be half as powerful as him...)

Daria Fallen - January 26, 2008 09:59 PM (GMT)
Daria simply offers a warm smile to Jade at her gratitude for her friendship. Or was it her protection? Maybe both. Either way, it made Daria feel a little warm inside; happy. She was needed again. And not just by her daughter this time. There had always been that gap between May and September when she wasn't with her students. Now she had a one on one student. Someone she could teach everything Grams had taught to her and well before Elise was old enough to really start learning. She felt a little guilty about this, but it only lasted a few moments. Elise would understand. Besides. She'd have a magical friend other than her own family. That was always a plus.

Daria makes a lot of mental notes as Jade describes this demon. Her brows jump into her hairline when she says he works directly for The Source. (Not good ... ) She begins to wonder how to formulate a vanquishing potion. She knew a lot of names of people who worked for The Source, but that was one she as unfamiliar with. Her mind flips through the thick pages of her grandmother's Book of Shadows and finds nothing close to the name. (Looks like i'll be adding another demon to the book.) It was bittersweet, really. While Daria loved adding things to the book in her own writing, it was never good. Anything Good she could possibly think of was already in the book.

(Well, now it's two against ... an army ...) It was a bit intimidating. In all her life she hadn't gone after an army, and none had gone after her. "True," Daria muses. But her grandmother might be. Although does she really want to bother the old woman with this problem? She had begun to show signs of weakness in the past few months. Perhaps it was best to leave her alone and tackle this on her own. "But I'll teach you everything my grandmother has taught me." She promises the gypsy. "It's no gypsy tradition, but close. And you can't really get picky now, right?" She says with a wide grin. "Plus, I'm technically certified as an instructor in Martial Arts, so if you need help in that area, I'd be more than willing." She offers, getting excited now. (Who says inviting compelte strangers to breakfast is a bad idea?) She mentally sticks her tongue out at her mother, lying in the hospital, too weak drowning in self pity to do anything on her own.

Daria's eyes glance to the clock. "Oh, shit!" She exclaims, checking her watch to make sure the time is correct. She looks over at Jade, somewhat wide-eyed, and laughs. "We'll have to finish this later." She promises once again. She didn't want the poor girl to think they'd abandoned her. True, this was much more juicey than just wandering around a mall for the evening, but hey. Friends are ffriends, right? And Daria desperately needed some.

Jade Spring - January 29, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
(Another teacher? It couldn’t hurt to have all my knowledge from the academy and learning’s from her line of witches. She could just fill in the gaps, help improve what talents I already posses…sounds like a win, win situation to me) “That would be fantastic! Thanks” Jade grins from ear to ear. This friendship is producing more than just a bit of banter every now and then - it’s giving her a teacher, a team mate, a future…

“I don’t think I’d need much training in the combat department though…I’m more than capable of holding my own. I took on an Ogre, Banshee and Wendigo all at once and survived!” The gypsy reminisces proudly, knowing that not many creatures could tell such a tale. Even though she did some bad things at her time at the DTA, she did achieve a lot. She can not deny that it did help her in some ways. She learned to deal with her pain, to embrace who she is, to be a survivor! That she is thankful for, even if the intent behind it was tainted.

“Oh yeah!” Jade exclaims when Daria jumps out the car. She’d got way too consumed with the little magical world she and the witch belong to and had forgotten all about the Elvin sorceress who awaits them at the entrance to the mall. “I can’t believe how long we’ve kept Moira waiting.” The regenerative gypsy exits the vehicle, shutting the car door behind her. She flashes Daria a worried look as she heads towards the entrance, hoping their friend won’t be too angry about them leaving her hanging for so long.

Daria Fallen - January 30, 2008 01:04 AM (GMT)
Daria quickly locks the car, glancing at her watch once more. "Don't worry, I'm fairly good at covering things up." She says with a wink. Having a magical background, powers, being raised a witch, the recent, yet somehow halted, Witch Trials. All these things had given her opportunity to come up with the best white lies. She was an expert by now.
