Aurora - August 13, 2007 02:46 AM (GMT)
Aurora stands in the center of the occult shop, bathed in shadows. The only apparent light comes from a series of candles that have been lit on the main level. There was no need to draw attention from potential customers during closed hours, especially at this time. Their discussion required discretion.
Two other women stand before Aurora. Both are dressed in a similar fashion - simple dark robes - and bear a great degree of likeness to the shop owner. Nearby, Aurora's falcon remains perched atop his cage, dark eyes observing the three sorceresses as they discuss current events.
"What of the boy?
The voice belongs to Selene, the middle sister. Her features are hard, matching her tone. Aurora takes it in stride though, not allowing her younger sibling to rush her. Patient in everything, Aurora takes her time in replying, unafraid to gather her thoughts before speaking.
"He is behaving. Celeste's nudge was a necessary and valuable action." The eldest Wyrd sister pauses, taking a moment to praise Celeste for her work. After a brief nod, Aurora moves on. They had many matters to discuss this morning, though Wyatt's coping with the witch trials was priority. "He meets with the Elders as we speak."
Celeste - August 16, 2007 06:31 AM (GMT)
Celeste takes Aurora's appraisal in stride, not allowing it to boost her ego. She had long since grown beyond such mortal matters as pride. They were all insignificant in the shadow of destiny, including herself and her sisters. Everyone became expendable for the greater good, and she could not take credit for simply playing her role.
"Then we can only wait and see if the Elders implement our plan to end these silly trials. They can be quite stubborn. I only inspired the boy, the rest is still up to him."
Celeste's tone isn't disparaging or doubtful, but simply is, as though she is stating a simple truth. They all knew what would happen if the trials continued unchecked. All one must do is look to history for that.
"And what of the old man?" The question is opened to both sisters, though she knows that Selene is the one who has been keeping an eye on Garrison. There were still pieces of information missing on that end that were necessary in order to prepare the Halliwells for what was to come next.
Selene - August 16, 2007 06:48 AM (GMT)
Selene snorts at Celeste's comment on the Elders. She rather disliked that particular angel breed. Their tactics being tired and useless being the foremost of many reasons, though she had to admit that they have improved greatly in recent years. She never did believe that they would have raised Wyatt up as king, even in name, and yet they had. (Surprising times these are turning out to be. There's change in the air, but which direction shall the wind blow? And where will we lie once the dust settles?)
"He slips farther away with each day." Selene replies to Celeste with an indifferent look to her younger sibling. She then turns to Aurora, the eldest, forcing the shadow sister to meet her gaze. Although the two had their differences, Selene would always defer to her. Aurora was not incompetent, and Selene knew this. "He has given up nothing as of yet."
Her sentence holds a half plead, half demand for Aurora to validate her desire for the old man to give them what they needed. The final piece in the Halliwell's destiny, that has thus far eluded them despite their best efforts to uncover it. However, it is difficult to discover something that has not been set in stone yet.
Aurora - August 20, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
"Then perhaps it is not his destiny to do so." Aurora's reply comes up on the heels of Selene's statement, almost as though the elder Wyrd Sister expected the conversation to take this turn. She gives her sister full attention, repeating once again what she has said many times before. No one can meddle with destiny and not expect to get burned in return. They had already made mistakes in attempting to guide the lives of others, but they would deal with that in a moment. One catastrophe at a time.
"If that is the case, then you know as well as I that we are prepared to assist the next, and it will be they who delivers us the prophecy which we seek." The tone is not cold, but there is a hint of finality to it. Aurora did not wish to dwell on things which they had no control. Especially when the issue should have been settled long ago. "Continue to watch him as always. When he passes, we shall move forward."
Celeste - September 3, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
"Speaking of moving forward," Celeste interjects, eager to move things along. There was still at least one more issue that needed to be discussed. Preferably before patrons began lining up at the door. The shop was scheduled to open at ten which was plenty of time for the sisters to wrap up this conversation. As long as they kept things moving along.
"Where are we with the Coven?" Since Aurora is the eldest and the self-appointed mentor to the Coven, Celeste's question is directed towards her. They already knew from interactions with an alternate version of herself, combined with the ability to view the Grand Design in part, that the Coven currently formed is not the True Coven of which the prophecy speaks. Though how that was to pan out still remains a mystery.
Aurora - September 3, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
"Sasha has fled town." Aurora's tone is matter of fact, almost as this revelation should have been expected. Though this is nearly a straight deliverance on the sorceress' part. After the Coven left her the day before, Aurora had watched them through the use of her pet, who remains perched across the room. "The destiny was not hers nor did she want it. Though I admit, I thought it would be the other gypsy that ran."
Her mind briefly reflects upon Luna, the red head who, on the surface, did not seem cut out for the task ahead. Yet, she remains while others do not, and Aurora is not afraid to admit flaw on her part. (Perhaps this experience will cause her to flourish.)
"Leila is also gone, though not by choice." A vision of the demoness flashes in Aurora's mind briefly, recalling a memory of the reformed being. "Xazor has gone to great lengths to reacquire her. Though I believe it is just as well. That one was always a little too eager. She was searching for validation and purpose when she must learn that those will come to her."
Selene - September 3, 2007 01:21 AM (GMT)
"That leaves us down two." When spoken out loud, that fact seems rather daunting especially with the goddess Pain running around San Francisco and the magical community currently in hiding due to the witch trials. Selene muses over the three remaining members, picking apart strengths and weaknesses based upon the limited amount of info she has on each, though she, like Celeste, has yet to officially meet the trio.
"Where are they now? Off running about, I suspect?" The words are bitter with a hard edge. It is more than obvious that she expects them to be present and training in preparation for the battle to come. The prophecy does not give clues to Pain's defeat, so in Selene's mind, it is best to be prepared in any way that is possible.
Aurora - September 3, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
"The remaining three are meeting at Quake." Aurora begins, giving a look to her viper-tongued sister. Aurora knew that Selene was all too eager to hold others accountable for the most minute wrongdoings based upon her own strict viewpoint. Once she is sure that Selene has quieted down, she continues. "They do not yet know of Sasha and Leila's unfortunate absence."
Aurora takes a breath and glances around the shop. The Coven, she knew, was not set to meet until ten, which coincides with the shop's opening. Obviously, she could not be present at both, and she dared not leave the task of conversing with the Coven to either of her sisters, especially since they did not know of them yet. "Celeste, you will remain here and tend shop while I inform the Coven of their missing members and make sure that remain on task."
Turning her head, Aurora faces Selene once more. She could not leave her in charge for obvious reasons. Though it was best to send her to deal with the old man, as she was already familiar with him and he with her. "Selene, you will tend to the Prophet. Watch over him and if there is any change in his condition, inform me immediately."
Selene - September 3, 2007 04:24 AM (GMT)
Aurora's look does not go unnoticed, and though Selene resents her elder sister pulling rank, Selene holds her tongue and falls silent. As the conversation comes to an end and Aurora delegates tasks, Selene can not help but notice that Aurora places herself in charge of the Coven once more. Yet she remains quiet for these things have long since been decided.
"It shall be done." With her agreement voiced, Selene taps into her sister's power of shadowscaping and departs from the shop by melting into the shadows with no further comment.
Aurora - September 3, 2007 04:30 AM (GMT)
Aurora watches Selene's departure with indifference. After a millenia together, each of the sisters has grown accustomed to the others and petty things no longer interfered with their working relationship. At the end of the day, each of them was there for one purpose and that was the preservation of mankind - both magical and non. Nothing else mattered.
"Good luck," is Aurora's final words to Celeste before she too shadowscapes, blending into the shadows. Her form melts away as it enters a nether realm of sorts, which she navigates with expertise on her way to the hospital for a slight detour.
Celeste - September 3, 2007 05:37 AM (GMT)
Her sisters leave one right after the other, leaving Celeste alone in the currently closed occult shop. This does not unnerve her though as she can find the good in any situation. With a smile that seems ever present, the youngest of the Wyrd Sisters moves about the shop preparing for opening in less than an hour. Although Aurora keeps the shop in good order, there are odds and ends that Celeste use to busy herself with.
Celeste moves about the shop, gliding with light steps as she goes about dusting and straightening things out. She ends her tour at the book shelves which she also dutifully tends to with care.
However, once the minor cleaning is complete, Celeste finds that she has nothing to do with plenty of time to kill. Standing there, she decides to alleviate her boredom with some light reading into the magical arts. It was always a delight to read what mortals thought they knew and laugh while pointing out all their misconceptions and outright wrong assumptions.
Flipping through a book on magical artifacts, Celeste mumbles to herself as she goes along denoting some as worthless. Then something catches her eye and the sorceress stops, opening the book fully. In the top corner is a picture of an odd contraption; a piece of jewelry with five rings attached to a bracelet. "Now here's an interestingly dangerous toy..."
However, since she already knows the legend - and the truth - Celeste soon loses interest and closes the book. With a sigh, she slips it back on the shelf and goes
elsewhere in the shop for something to pass the time.
Clark McGowan - October 24, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
Clark enters the shop head first. He pears around precariously; he looks around and examines the facinating herbs and books that line the walls. His eyes travel over every corner of the shop, his enfatuation growing with every gaze.(Oh I would kill to work here!) Clark looks to the front counter and sees it is unoccupied.
Clark steps around for a few more moments, he begins to grow increasingly nervous as the time passes. ( Maybe they will think I'm under qualified.) Clark feared this greatly. He wasn't shy in admitting that he wasn't the most powerful witch, but he wants to learn more than any other. And it just so happens this place looks to be the perfect spot to further his education.
Finally Clark settles his thoughts and approaches the front desk. When he reaches it he places his hands on it and leans forward. Timidly he calls out. "Hello?"
Celeste - November 18, 2007 05:09 PM (GMT)
Celeste comes up behind Clark, though he will not hear her approach. She stands behind him and then leans forward, placing her mouth in the immediate vicinity of his ear. When she speaks, her voice is soft though its randomness will most likely startle anyways. "May I help you?"
As soon as the words are spoken, Celeste straightens, not wanting to get bashed in the head should this man flail about like a schoolgirl. When Clark turns to see her, his eyes will fall upon a middle-aged beauty who stands demurely with her hands clasped out before her and a warm inviting smile on her lips.
Clark McGowan - November 18, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
Clark waitd for a brief moment. Unexpectedly the beautiful voice of this newfound stranger pops into Clark's hear. "oh!" HE he gasps as he jumps slightly into the air. He turns quickly to face his inquirer. HE smiles as he sees a beautiful woman before he. "Oh I'm quite sorry. You startled me a bit." He takes a large breath, his heart still racing within him. His brotehr had done such things often in their childhood, it's easy to startled someone whne you have superspeed. A slight nostalgia pangs within Clark momentarily.
Clark finally collects himself and looks looks Celeste in the eye. He realizes he should probably be attempting a good impression, seeing as how this woman may be the one decidin his being hired or not. He sticks out a hand to shake in greeting. "Hi, I'm Clark mcGowan. I was actually looking to see if you were looking for any new employee's, I'd really love to work here." ( please, please, please.)
Celeste - November 19, 2007 04:27 AM (GMT)
She watches him with curiosity. Humans were such odd creatures at times. Interesting, but odd. When he shoves his hand out at her, Celeste glances down at it, studying it briefly before timidly reaching out her own and placing it within his grasp. (Definitely an odd species.)
"It is a pleasure to meet you Clark," She smiles warmly whilst retrieving her hand from his. Reclasping them before her, she tilts her head slightly to the left and a look of pity draws up her features. "And I am sorry to tell you, but this is a family owned and run shop. Between my sisters and I, we have things under control here I think."
Aleron Deveaux - November 19, 2007 02:52 PM (GMT)
Now actually inside the building, Aleron looks around to get used to his surroundings. Clark and Celeste are busy conversing with one another, so Aleron decides to leave them alone. Besides, even if he were to approach them, what would he say?
("Hi, my GPS system decided to go on the fritz, and a green trail decided to take me here." Sure, and sound like I'm insane...) He thinks to himself, walking around the store and trying to look like he knows what the hell he is doing.
He walks over to a small area of the store with some herbs, and he picks a couple up of them, trying to look casual and interested. (Maybe what I need will just...pop out at me...) Aleron adds to his train of thought, glancing over his shoulder occasionally and making sure to keep alert.
Clark McGowan - November 19, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
Clark's heart fell, he had hoped desperatly her answer would have been different, but alas it was not. He smiles, his insides twisting in the awkwardness of the situation. Awkwardness was Clark's greatest weakness, and once again it had defeated him. Here he stands before the women who has just rejected his impromptu job application, his tounge thouroughly tied. (What do I say now?)
Clark smiles, trying to buy time. Finally he speaks. "Oh well that's too bad, your shop seems so fascinating." He looks around the store, his eyes fall on the shelves stocked with hundreds of books. He turns back to the mysterious woman. "You wouldn't happen to have any books on psychic visions, would you?"
Celeste - November 20, 2007 04:31 AM (GMT)
"You won't find what you're looking for over there, Mr. Deveaux."
Celeste's voice calls out to the young druid, though she does not even turn from Clark just yet. She smiles apologetically and holds up a single finger to sign that it would be just a moment. She then looks over her shoulder to where Aleron is standing.
"It's just through there." She nods towards the door into the back room but offers no other explanation than that. Not how she knew his name nor anything else regarding his mysterious arrival to this shop.
"As for you," Turning back towards Clark, she slips a hand to his shoulder and maneuvers herself beside him, so they are now both facing the same direction. "There are many books in this old, dusty shop. Go on over and take a look."
Aleron Deveaux - November 20, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
"You won't find what you're looking for over there, Mr. Deveaux."
Aleron quickly pauses in what he is doing, a thing of herbs held midway. He slowly returns the dried herbs down to the spot where they previously were, and slowly turns around and looks to Celeste. "How do you..." He begins to say, but quickly shuts his mouth. It's no use to ask questions like that, considering that the woman in front of him seems to know who he is and what he is "looking for".
"It's just through there."
His gaze tears away from her porcelain like face, resting on the back door. (Okay, so this isn't creepy at all...First, a green trail leads me here, than the woman working here knows my name and tells me to go to the back of the shop?) He thinks to himself, putting his hands in his pocket nonchalantly. However, what most people don't know is that Aleron keeps a small metallic marble in his pocket just incase he ever needs to activate his power.
The druid gulps, giving Celeste a small smile, and Clark a nod before turning his attention towards the door. "Here goes nothin'..." He says for the second time today, cracking his neck and walking into the back room.
Clark McGowan - November 20, 2007 06:49 PM (GMT)
Clark smiles. "Great. Thanks." He moves over to the first great book shelf. (There has to be something.) He scans over the ancient leather bound books before him. The amount of knowledge available just in this one shop was astounding. It was like Clark could smell the magic wafting from every corner of the place. He looks down and continues his search for any book involving his Clark or his powers.
Tome - November 28, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
[As he searches through the myriad of books gathered in the musty old shop, Clark will find such titles as Premonitions as Windows Into the Future, Break It Down: A Guide to Deciphering Your Dreams, Through the Eyes of an Oracle and Psychic Awareness.]
Clark McGowan - November 28, 2007 11:19 PM (GMT)
Clark smiles as as eyes befall a cluster of books that seem to be to fit his particular needs. (Well I've never had a vision in my dreams, so "Break It Down" won't be much use. I've never had a premonition, so that ones out.) Clark finally decides, he takes through the eyes of an Oracle and Psychic awareness. He smiles excitedly, this was the first time in a great while he had held anything containing magical information, besides his own Book of Shadows.
Clark turns and then sits with his back against the bookshelf. His not aware of how juvenile this may look, nor does he particularly care. He places Psychic Awareness on the ground beside him, then placesThrough the Eyes of an Oracle on his lap. Slowly and carefully he opens the book and begins to skim read page after page looking for anything about his powers
The Nexus - December 5, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)
[In order to enhance gameplay, a Time Jump has been implemented. Time has shifted forward by approximately 8 hours, making the time currently 6:30 PM. Certain characters will be unaffected by this time jump, causing all previous actions (posts) to be stretched out over the skipped time.]
Character Relocations:All characters may begin posting anywhere as long as it logical and reasonable.
Jenna Bell - December 6, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
Jenna finds herself in the occult shop, her eyes timidly looking back at the door leading out onto the street. She has no clue how such a place is still open with the witch trials being in full swing, but having passed it and saw no one about, the blond took a chance and ventured inside.
(I’ll just be in and out…no one will know) Jenna murmurs, briskly moving around the store with one of the baskets held tightly in her hand. She doesn’t have all the time in the world, or so she thinks. Anyone could see her and then that would be it. She’d be dragged off to the stake and burned alive.
Jenna meanders around the displays, dropping a little of everything into her basket. She doesn’t really know what she should get, but at the end of the day it’s better to have too much than too little. At least this way she won’t not have something she needs. (Ugh…heavy) The witch moans, grabbing one of the small cauldrons as she passes them.
With everything she may possibly need in her possession, Jenna hurries over to the register, placing the items out in front of her. In all she has: 10 assorted coloured candles, the magical text – from the shadows, a tarot deck and a cauldron. (The book should be useful…It looked like a good one to get)
Celeste - December 10, 2007 06:03 PM (GMT)
Celeste had remained behind the counter during Jenna's little shopping spree. The young girl had seemed fairly knowledgeable about the items she was purchasing, so Celeste did not feel the need to interrupt. Instead, she watched curiously, trying to figure out whether or not she was surprised at the girl's presence in the shop. Today's world was not the most tolerant towards practicioners.
"Is that all?" Celeste's voice is soft and motherly, especially in comparison to her sisters. She rings up each item individually as she waits for Jenna's answer. The total on the digital screen reads $99.87. (A hefty price tag for a neophyte. Then again, maybe she isn't.)
Jenna Bell - December 12, 2007 08:38 PM (GMT)
“Yeah…I think that’s all I’ll be needing” Jenna replies softly, her eyes bouncing over all the objects on the counter. She has a lot and the price reflects that. She feels tempted to put something back, the cauldron or the tarot deck maybe…not really being sure if she would ever use them or not; but she denies this urge.
(It’s best to have too much. I don’t wanna have to come back here anytime soo-) Jenna’s thoughts cut off as Wyatt’s magic cuts into her. Somehow she knows the trials are over. She doesn’t know why or how, but that she knows. The blond stands as still as a statue for a second, taking in this knowledge. She basks in it. It is all she can think about. (It’s over. It. Is. All. Over.)
Jenna lets out a long sigh. It’s like all her worries have poured out of her. She had been living in a constant state of fear for what seemed like forever and now she doesn’t have to. She can be herself - she is free.
Realising that she must look quite strange to the woman across from her, Jenna shakes off her hazy expression, a wide toothy grin appearing in its place. She then continues to pull out her ATM card and hands it to Celeste, no longer caring about the expense of her items.
Celeste - December 16, 2007 01:49 AM (GMT)
Celeste, too, feels Wyatt's magic wash over her and the effect it has on the Grand Design. Perhaps even moreso given her station and power. The youngest of the Wyrd smiles softly at the shift, though Jenna would probably believe it directed to her. (I knew he would do it. He just need a little nudge.)
Taking the card from Jenna, she runs it through the digital reader, allocating the funds from the witch's account. The transfer is immediate and the card is returned. Celeste bags the items into an eco-friendly, reusable canvas bag. "There you go, dear. Enjoy."
Vision - December 21, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)

Mirella Raine - December 21, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
Mirella enters the shop to see a few people already there. She recognizes the woman standing at the counter, but coulnd't place her name. She just watches her for a moment. She had no idea what to do now. She didn't know if these people were magical or not. And if they were, how would they react to a total stranger? Well, not total stranger. THey might remember her aunt and grandmother. But chances of them remembering her were slim. She tended to keep to herself, learning on her own. But seeing the woman was busy, she occupies herself with looking around. THe place hadn't changed much from what she remembered.
Jenna Bell - December 23, 2007 12:25 AM (GMT)
“Thank you…” Jenna replies softly, still in a state of disbelief from the Witch trials ending. She grabs the bag her items are now in with a tight grasp and turns from the counter. Her blue eyes travel over Mirella briefly as the Gypsy enters the shop; for a second her heart pounds with fear, but then she remembers she doesn’t have to be scared anymore. Being in an occult shop isn’t something that can condemn to you death, like it was just an hour ago. She simply offers the woman a gentle smile before heading out towards the front door of the store.
Mirella Raine - December 24, 2007 05:03 AM (GMT)
Mirella returns the warm smile Jenna had offered her. She was actually rather shocked to find someone in an occult shop. But then she remembered that it wasn't a death sentence anymore. Which still puzzled her. But, seeing as Celeste now was not busy, she makes her way towards the woman. She offers a warm smile before greeting her. "Hello. Um ... You might not remember me, but Iused to come in here with my aunt and grandmother a lot. And my cousins, as well. THat was many years ago now, so I don't expect you to remember me." She says, a bit nervously. "I was wondering if you could help me ... "She glances around, making sure there was no one listening in on what she was about to divulge.
"I received a certain ... message ... To come here as soon as possible." She says, emphasizing the word 'message' so the woman would know what she was talking about. "Would you happen to know anyhting about that? There was .. uh .. No name given." She says, hoping the woman wouldn't think she was crazy. Maybe Mirella was the only one who knew about the Witch Trials? Nah ... That couldn't be possible. Why would she know and no one else know? Though, the whole thing was strange. Maybe that's why she was lead here?
Celeste - January 2, 2008 03:46 AM (GMT)
Celeste watches Jenna exit the shop, holding off until she is through the door before turning her attention towards Mirella. Of course, Mirella had been waiting in the wings for an opening and seized upon it immediately, so Celeste turns only to be greeted by Mirella's rambling. Celeste simply and patiently waits, smiling as the words pour out from the woman's mouth. (She is a talkative one, is she not? Wonder why it is her to face the lycan beast...)
"Yes, you were led here for a reason, Mirella." Celeste's voice is soft, but still holds that mystery that all the Wyrd Sisters seem to possess. Centuries of practice in their roles. The youngest Wyrd steps out from behind the counter, passing by Mirella. She only takes a few steps out onto the floor before stopping. She taps into Aurora's power of shadowmelding and, with a wave at the door, locks the front door.
"There." She turns to face Mirella once more and claps her hands together once. "Now we will not be disturbed. We have important matters to discuss." Celeste smiles warmly at the gypsy before her. "Such as your destiny."
Mirella Raine - January 2, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
Mirella smiles with relief when the woman confirms that she had received the message. She also is amazed that she doens't freak out. SHe must be right. That she's not the only one who knows about the Witch Trials. She desperately wants to ask about them, but she has a feeling that they are not the reason she has been summoned here. She listens to the woman's calm, mysterious voice which brings her back to when she was a girl in the shop with her aunt and grandmother. Celeste reminded her quite a bit of her aunt. This was perhaps why she was comfortable with Celeste.
As the woman steps out from behind the counter and passes her, Mirella's body turns as if a magnetic pulse controlled her body, swivelling it in the direction of the magnetic force within Celeste. She watches with a great amount of interest as the woman waves her hand at the sign on the door. She watches as it goes from Open to Closed. (Useful power.) She muses to herself, smiling. Her eyes move back towards Celeste. (Destiny? Hmmm. About time.) She thinks, remembering all those times her grandmother and aunt pounded into her that's part of some destiny. They refused to tell her what it was. She seriously wondered if they even knew. And after years of nothing, she wondered if they were just trying to keep her spirits up.
Mirella regards the woman with an expression of someone who knew what was about to happen. But at the same time, she manages to look a little excited about it. "My Aunt and Grams told me often of my destiny." She informs the woman, not feeling quite as nervous as she had when she walked in the door. This causes her to prattle on quite a bit less. "I'd begun to believe that they didn't know what they were talking about." She adds with a grin. She was quite relieved and excited about this. She was more than ready to embrace whatever Celeste had in mind for her.
Celeste - January 7, 2008 12:04 AM (GMT)
"Clearly they were very wise women who know that we all have a destiny. We all serve some purpose in this world." Celeste holds her hands together before her as she speaks to Mirella. She did not sense either of her sisters within the confines of the occult shop. (Curious. It appears that the call of duty has fallen upon my shoulders.)
"Come with me." Celeste's voice is soft and airy. Dulcet tones that escape from her mouth and will fly off if you do not pay close attention. She walks forward, passing Mirella once more on her way behind the counter. There lies a glass encasement and within is a velvet pillow. One crystal remains upon its soft surface, though the impressions left by the other four are still present. "This is your destiny, Mirella Raine. This crystal and the other four like it."
Mirella Raine - January 9, 2008 07:11 PM (GMT)
Mirella smiles, giving the woman a nod of gratitude as she speaks of her grandmother and aunt. It didn't appear as if the woman remembered or even knew of who she spoke, so she didn't push the matter. She hadn't expected her to. Not to mention, the woman before her must have been the daughter of the previous owner. Surely the other women had to be long gone by now. And certainly not as young looking as Celeste. She wanted to inquire about the other women, but decided not to. There was something more important at hand.
Mirella's body is once more pulled towards Celeste as she moves back behind the counter. This time, the gypsy follows. She only looks at the case which Celeste holds, respectfully averting her eyes from anything that might be of a private nature behind the counter. Mirella's eyes fall upon the crystal. It was certainly beautiful. She looks back up to Celeste. There was surely more to this than just five crystals. Where were the other four? Was she supposed to find them? Not being raised a witch, it doesn't quite click that the five crystals would be placed at the points of a pentagram.
Mirella ascertains tha tthe crystal presented was for her, but she doesn't reach out for it. Celeste had not removed the glass covering, nor did she make any move to indicate that she should retrieve it. It may have powers unlike Mirella had ever seen. Or it could jsut be a simple crystal. "What is it's purpose?" Mirella finally asks, a feeling of deep excitement and a tinge of uncertainty within her belly.

"What is its purpose..." Celeste repeats the words of the gypsy woman, her tone almost suggesting that the answer lies within the questions itself, though it does not. She looks upon Mirella for a moment, a soft smile graces her lips, before she turns back to the clear casing that protects the final crystal of the Coven. Reaching out with delicate hands, she removes the glass, exposing the crystal. After setting the thing in her hands down, she motions for Mirella to take the crystal from the plush cushion upon which it sets. "Its purpose is to link you with the four individuals with whom share your destiny."

Mirella takes in the fluid movements of the woman, watching for any hidden meaning within either her actions or words. But she finds none. All she hears are words that have been careully thought out to ease her into what was about to happen. SHe notes that Celeste is careful to only reveal what Mirella asks. She grins, her eyes sparkling. She wasn't new to the tactic. She'd used it often, herself. (A woman after my own heart.) She thinks as she reaches out for the crystal.
(The four others ... So that means I don't need to look for the other crystals. But apparently I'll be working with a group. How interesting ... ) Mirella's mind contemplates all the information given, lacking as it is. But rather than trying to piece things together, she decides to come out and ask. "So ... What exactly is my destiny, then?" She asks, hoping that Celeste would be a little more candid this time.

"Ah, now that is the question, is it not?" Celeste appears amused by Mirella's question, her eyes full of light and laughter. It is obvious that she is the youngest and most child-like of the three sisters. Where Selene is stern and bitter and Aurora old and wise, Celeste is jovial and free-spirited. It has also been a point of strife between Selene and herself in the past. Their personalities were not the most compatible.
"You are not the first to ask that question. Why am I here? What is my purpose? What is the meaning of life?" Celeste lists off each question one by one like a laundry list. However, each one has the same core, and is exactly what Mirella is asking herself. "Different words, same question."
It is at this particular moment that Celeste's features become smooth and stoic. The act is to show that the conversation is about to turn and serious, and Celeste wanted no question that her words are important. "Your destiny, Mirella, is to save us all."

Mirella can't help but smile at Celeste. Her free spirited mannerisms appealed to her. She seemed to be someone that the gypsy could relate to. Something that almost scared her. Anyone who she really cared about is dead or living elsewhere on the globe. Mirella fights the walls she feels building within herself. The woman before her held secrets that needed to be unlocked. And the key could be friendship and opening herself more than she had in the past.
She grins when Celete takes her question as the clicheed meaning. The gypsy had meant it in every literal sense. But as she listens to the question she had just posed, it did sound like all those which the Wyrd sister mentioned. (Well, I suppose I"m one of the few who will learne exactly what I'm here for.) She ponders seconds before she takes a breath to say it. But she stops, seeing Celeste's expression change.
(Save us all?) Mirella is stopped dead in her tracks. (Me?) Her stance clearly shows her shock, and hints at disbelief. Her jaw is slackened slightly, her lips but millimetres from each other. Her eyes rest on Celeste's face, yet doesn't take it in. Her mind races to try and comprehend the words that had just left the lips of the woman standing before her. After what seemed like hours in Mirella's mind, her eyes finally focus back on Celeste's face.
As she tries tospeak, nothing but silence emits. Her mouth closes as she swallows and clears her throat. She looks down at the crystal in her hand. "Um ... Excuse me?" She asks, not really sure what to say. "Save who? How? From what?" Her mind reorders itself and floods with questions for Celeste. It was clear that she knew what was going on. "Does this have anything to do with the Witch Trials?" She asks, only now remembering what her plans had been before she received the message which led her here.
