Title: Room 402
Description: Fourth Floor
Construction - March 17, 2007 08:38 PM (GMT)
[A hospital room on the fourth floor. An adjustable hospital bed, television, bathroom and other medical equipment fill this room. A call button by the bed is linked to the Nurse's Station.]
The Nexus - December 20, 2007 12:20 AM (GMT)
[Clark McGowan is lying unconscious within this room after his car accident on the Golden Gate Bridge.]
Nigel Hunter - January 4, 2008 06:27 AM (GMT)
Dr. Nigel Hunter enters Clark's room with chart in hand and a throughly unimpressed look on his face. (How many more idiots that can't drive am I going to have to deal with today?) Well aware his patient has been stuck unconscious for a substantial amount of time, Dr. Hunter walks over to the nearest piece of machinery and flips a knob to allow it to emit a wailing shriek. As the knob is returned to it's original position and Nigel moves closer to Clark's bed.
He finds the sight almost pathetic. The young man has one leg suspended in the air covered in plaster, thick gauze around his forehead and a tensor bandage around his right wrist. (Well obviously his leg is still broken, The concussion should subside within a few hours. Sprained wrist should be much better, the bruises on the other hand, those are going to be a bitch to deal with.)
"Mr. McGowan, can you hear me?"
His voice is loud with a tint of annoyance. This was not something he wanted to waste his time on.
Clark McGowan - January 5, 2008 03:31 PM (GMT)
A High pitched noise can be heard in the distance. Clark lies there extremly befuddled, half of his mind still lies on the bridge while the other lies here in this bed. But with every passsing moment the room around him grows clearer. Sudddenly he becomes aware of throbbing pains in his leg and head. After a few moments his eyes have the strength to slowly pull open.
"Mr. McGowan, can you hear me?"
It takes several moments for the speaking man to come into focus, and along with him the rest of the hospital room. Clark looks around the room with a look of shocked confusion.
"What the fuck?"
Nigel Hunter - January 7, 2008 02:29 AM (GMT)
"What the fuck?"
Nigel quirks an eyebrow and shakes his head. "I'll take that as a yes." The doctor refrains from rolling his eyes. Everyone was a damn thespian these days.
(Whatever happened to the 'Thank God I'm alive' patients?)
"Mr. McGowan, I'm sure you're aware by now you were in a rather serious car accident. As you can see you've managed to attain some injuries. The leg is obviously the most noticeable, it should heal quite quickly. Considering the impact of the collusion, you've come off remarkably well."
The older doctor stares at the witch for a few moments and sighs. "Can you recall any details of the accident?"
Clark McGowan - January 7, 2008 02:42 AM (GMT)
"Mr. McGowan, I'm sure you're aware by now you were in a rather serious car accident."
(What?)
Clark tries to think back to his last memory. However the last he can recall is waking up on baker beach. He strains his mind as the doctor talks. His memory comes back in small blips, piece by piece the lost hour of his life slowly creeps back.
"Can you recall any details of the accident?"
Clark takes a few moments to think before he gives his repsonse. Although he has his memory back mostly, it doesn't seem to be entirely in the correct order. As he talks he slowly places the puzzle together.
"I was uh... I was stopped in traffic on the bridge. And I was uh, using my navigation console and then there was a crash." Clark thinks for a moment. "Yeah that's all I remember."
Nigel Hunter - January 12, 2008 08:14 PM (GMT)
"I was uh... I was stopped in traffic on the bridge. And I was uh, using my navigation console and then there was a crash."
"And you thought it best to not keep your eyes on the road while doing so?" Nigel watches his patient with quiet judgment [i](Honestly, they have automated technology, hovering cars, and yet people still can't learn to keep their eyes on the damn road. This boy was just lucky that there had been no fatalities.
The older man inwardly rolls his eyes and takes a few steps over to the man's beside cart to look at his latest chart. "Well, the good news is, neither of you is dead," He pauses to give the young man a poignant look before continuing, "And you're both on your way to making a recovery. I hope you will be far more responsible the next time you drive Mr. McGowan, There are lives other than yours at stake."
Clark McGowan - January 12, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
"And you thought it best to not keep your eyes on the road while doing so?"
Anger slides into Clark's mind. Here he is with a concusion and a broken leg, and this doctor hasn't been the most pleasent to encounter.
"The car was stopped! I looked down for one second, maybe less. I didn't do anything wrong, check my record I've never even had a speeding ticket. Had I actually been driving I wouldn't have bothered with the nav system."
If his leg wasn't suspened in the air, Clark would surely sit upright anrigly and look the doctor in the eye. But all he can manage now is to lie there and speak.
Well, the good news is, neither of you is dead,"
(Oh my god! The other driver!)
Clark was yet to think of the other person involved in the crash. Clark looks quickly back at the doctor.
"The other driver, who is he? What kind of injuries does he have?"
Nigel Hunter - January 15, 2008 04:29 AM (GMT)
"So I suppose a car crash makes up for the ticket eh? Look, don't think you're the first to give me that. Point is your here now, and it's not my fault."
The doctor narrows his eyes as Clark inquires about the other patient. He finds it rather interesting that the boy has never indicated any interest in the other driver until he mentions it. Yet he wants him to fall for the whole 'I was being responsible act'. If he had a nickel for every time he heard that spiel...
(God, let's not get too depressing.)
"Yeah, ever heard of something called patient confidentiality? Something kind of important in my line of business."
A sigh echoes as Nigel rests his eyes on his patient. His stay was almost over, it's time to get things rolling.
"Is there someone you can be discharged to?"
Tori Galloway - January 15, 2008 04:31 AM (GMT)
“Clark?” A soft female voice rings into the hospital as the petite form of Tori Galloway walks into the room right on cue. She gives Nigel a small smile, flashing her pearly whites with pride. “I just got a call. I’m his cousin, Tori.” She adds, holding her hand out for the doctor to shake. She gives Clark a small smile, hoping that the subtle hint will tell Clark to just play along with what she has planned. “Is he going to be able to be taken home?” Tori asks, directing her attention back to Nigel. She wants to make sure that he is fine, even though just looking at him probably gives her the answer.
Clark McGowan - January 15, 2008 08:52 PM (GMT)
"Clark?"
Clark looks to the door. He does not recognize the voice, but it seems it's owner knows him. He sees Tori enter. The woman is beautiful, but he has no recolection of ever meeting her. (You did just wail your head in a car crash. Maybe trusting your memory is not the best idea)
"I just got a call. I’m his cousin, Tori"
Clark thinks to speak out against this false statement, but not before Tori flashes him the smile. It's one of those classic smiles you see in all the movie. That ever so useful "just play along" smile.
"Is he going to be able to be taken home?"
Clark cuts his snide doctor off before he can respond, trying to protect the woman from Nigel's eve pissy wit.
"Yeah I'm free to go. Well as soon as we sort out this little aparatus."
Clark points to the contraption holding his leg in midair suspension.
(Broken bones blow)
Nigel Hunter - January 20, 2008 07:43 AM (GMT)
Nigel cocks his eyebrow and shakes the hand extended to him. "His cousin eh?" The older man is clearly skeptical. The two look nothing alike, and while this is possible in certain circumstances, Tori's entrance is almost too convenient. But judging on the boy's reaction, he decides that whether or not the two were actually related wasn't something he was going to dive into.
(So long as he confirms her story, I can't be held responsible for whatever happens next.)
The doctor does not fail to take notice of Clark's rushed attempt to keep him silent. Nigel sends him a rather pointed but amused look. (Oh don't worry kid, I'm only an asshole to the less attractive stupid ones...) With a snide grin the man takes a few steps to close the gap between himself and Clark's beside.
"Well now Mr. McGowan, I don't quite recall saying you were totally ready to be released, but if you have full confidence that you'll be able to heal well enough at home, Far be it for me to stop you."
The doctor reaches up and promptly releases one side of the sling supporting the younger witch's leg, knowing full well that while the result may cause an unwelcome sharp pain, it would hardly damage the bone farther.
(And that, my friend, is why we keep our mouths shut.)
"Miss," He pauses for a moment to silently excuse himself from not knowing her surname before continuing. "If you would be so kind as to grab the wheelchair to your left. I'm sure your cousin is well aware that further use of his leg at the moment may cause some marginal discomfort."
Tori Galloway - January 28, 2008 01:54 AM (GMT)
Tori nods her head towards Nigel, her small smile visible on her face. She steps to the left, bracing her hands around the wheelchair. She moves it over to the bed, giving Clark a small nod. “How long do you think he will need assistance, doctor?” Tori asks, her voice ringing out into the room. She turns back down and faces Clark, looking over his injuries. “I mean, it can’t be that bad since you’re going to let him rest at home, right?” She adds, tilting her head a bit. With a small sigh, she leans down and begins to help Clark get into the wheel chair.
(They’re not too bad…Shouldn’t take long for them to heal up…Just got to get him out of here first.)

| After leaving the hospital, Tori healed all of Clark's wounds. She allowed him to remember the event, making him think that she is a witch of sorts. So he continues to be unaware of her true nature as his whitelighter. |
