Title: Living Room
Description: First Floor
Manor - March 22, 2007 04:21 AM (GMT)
[Just off of the foyer lies the living room with its sofas and television set. The living room also grants access to the conservatory.]
Luc - March 6, 2008 06:40 PM (GMT)
Luc teleports into existence, sole bag of belongings and all. The bag is unceremoniously dropped on the floor while the teleporter kicks off his shoes and jumps onto the couch.
"Ahh, finally. Some good ol' R & R."
The new television set catches the blond man's attention. (Perfect.) Luc reaches for the remote control that would give him access to all of the world's media. But alas, though his hand reaches for it, it closes up around thin air. Luc frowns and looks down beside him. The problem seems to be the remote control sitting just beyond arm's reach.
Luc bites his lower lip. He could stand up, walk over, and grab the remote. Or... He teleports a few inches, his fingers closing gratefully around the little rectangular gadget. With a sigh of contentment, Luc pulls up his legs and nestles comfortably onto the couch...
Victor Halliwell - March 7, 2008 06:54 PM (GMT)
"Ahh, finally. Some good ol' R & R."
Victor stops at the threshold of the living room and leans against the frame, watching Luc. Arms folded, he is more than aware of the 'dilemma' going on in Luc's brain at the moment. The age-old question. To be or not to be... lazy. Of course, Luc chooses the 'to be' and uses his powers. Again.
"That still counts as personal gain, you know." Victor speaks up finally, breaking the silence in the room. He pushes himself away from the door frame and enters the living room fully, but makes no move to join Luc on the couch. Especially not after the perverse thoughts that have been running through that boy's head. "And one of these days, the powers that be are going to put you through hell for it."
Luc - March 10, 2008 05:45 PM (GMT)
"That still counts as personal gain, you know. And one of these days, the powers that be are going to put you through hell for it."
Victor's comment elicits a smug grin from Lucifer. He tilts his face to look at the telepath, noting with some admiration the reflection of the sun on his handsome face. (Excellent bone structure. Nice hair. Yup, the Powers certainly were kind to you) The thought is slightly less perverse than before, more playful this time.
"...as for me... the great Powers couldn't give two shits about little ol' me. I'm not like you - no big family history, no titanic destiny." Luc isn't wistful. Indeed, his tone of voice indicates that 'titanic destinies' are something to be pitied. His grin broadens. "I'm just the guy lusting after the Halliwell. Nobody all that special."
Victor Halliwell - March 18, 2008 04:56 PM (GMT)
"You don't know that. The Powers may have plans for you yet." Victor smirks at Luc while uncrossing his arms, allowing his guard to falter. He isn't sure what's got him all worked up. Except for the fact that every time he turns around there's another magical crisis to deal with.
"As for me, being a Halliwell isn't all that it's cracked up to be. There's the Halliwell curse" Victor's face drops slightly and the smile fades. Thoughts of his mother, which are always there just beneath the surface, bubble up into the forefront of his mind. "The curse of either dieing young or ending up alone. Or both."
Luc - March 18, 2008 05:51 PM (GMT)
"Well if you die young then you don't have to end up alone!" Luc's voice is jovial, flippant even, but the look that crosses Victor's face does not go unnoticed. But Luc isn't finished. He leans forward, turning on the couch to face Victor.
"And I'm sure being a Halliwell sucks. That's what I mean - titanic destinies? They're nothing fun. Mine involved a mountain climb. Yours..."
He trails off, his voice lowering to a sadder note.
"You seem to lose the ones you love. Like you mom." (He never did finish that story.) "Isn't that right?"
Victor Halliwell - March 28, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
"Yeah..." Victor's voice trails off as his mind takes a trip down memory lane, back to when his mother still lived. He is lucky, he supposed, to possess any memories of her. Considering the life that Phoebe Halliwell lived, she could have been taken from her children a lot sooner than she had. It was inevitable.
He shakes off the memories, clearing his throat, and looks to Luc again. Doing his best to hide the sadness, the telepath continues on his speech about destiny - and how Luc's may not be over.
"The point is, the world - the balance - everything is bigger than any one individual. And who's to say that Fate is done with you? You still live don't you? If Fate were done with you, than this life would be done with you."
Luc - April 10, 2008 04:04 PM (GMT)
"Well, maybe." Luc cracks a grin, breaking the sombre atmosphere of the living room, "maybe I'll be a Hollywood star. Look, ma, no special effects." (Or maybe I'll find my own family, someday.)
The neophyte witch shrugs, "well, I dunno about you, but I could use a break from Destiny for at least the next hour or so." His gaze travels to the watch, which earns a roll of his eyes, "especially considering its almost half-past midnight. Isn't this the witching hour or something? I remember reading that somewhere..."
Luc grimaces as he clambers off the couch. His muscles are sore, from the workout that Destiny had decided to put him through. "Anyways, you hungry?" Luc's asking because he is. Then again, the teleporter is always hungry, "I could whip us up something? You've never experienced my phenomenal cooking, have you?"
A muscular hand reaches out for Victors'. As Luc figured, conversations about Destinies were much better had over a chicken breast and tomato sandwich.
