Title: Dark Cave
Description: Forest
Cavern - March 31, 2007 03:43 PM (GMT)
[A cave deep within the forest of Muir Woods. Unknown to mortals, there is a seemingly solid wall inside that acts as a portal into the
Surface Catacombs of the Underworld for those evil beings who lack a teleportation ability. However, the secret entrance is guarded by evil to prevent mortals from discovering it.]
The Nexus - September 23, 2007 01:02 AM (GMT)
[A fragment of Clark's magical essence enters the cave and disperses in a bright flash. The witch's magic temporarily negates the innate ability of invisibility of any present Charzin demons, thus leaving them viewable to the naked eye. The demons are unaware of this development for the time being.]

Clark runs towards the cave quickly in prevention of being followed by Venus. Once he gets close to the cave side he slows down. He moves quietly towards the entrance completely unknowing of what is within. ( What could this spell possibly have done?) Clarks places his hand on the side of the cave entrance, then he leans in slightly to look inside. His eyes widen as they fall upon the rather large group of demons conjugating in the stone shelter. He quickly leans back hopefully before any of the demons see him.
( Oh shit!)
Clark leans against the stone wall of the cave breathing rather heavy as a combined result of fear and being winded from the run. Clark thinks of what to do. Trying to vanquish them all was foolish, his power was passive and his spell craft was not nearly that powerful.
( The book, it’s in the car. I’ll just run to the car and see if the demons are in the book.) Clark takes a few more deep breaths. ( One…Two… Three!) Clark starts sprinting back through the woods towards the parking lot.
Charzin Horde - September 23, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
Four Charzin demons lie in wait within the cave, gripping onto the cavern walls like salamanders. Their bodies are covered in rough scales, giving them a reptilian appearance. They remain silent, senses alert. The moment any being entered their domain, they would know of it. This includes Clark at the entrance...
However, since the witch chooses not to enter the cave, the demons do not give chase. They were placed here by the Source of All Evil in order to protect the secret entrance into the Underworld, among other things, and nothing more.

Clark steps up to the side of the cave just out of sight from the entrance. He stands there, he unfolds the piece of paper in his hand. He peaks around the edge, inside he sees four demons. (please let me sruvive this.) he leans back, the turns to look at Venus, his heart racing. He holds up 4 fingers, hoping she will interperite this correctly. Then he mouths his words as apposed to speaking. "Start Chanting."
Venus D'Kenn - October 10, 2007 10:46 PM (GMT)
(Why don't you bloody start chanting?) Venus hisses in her head as she comes to a halt not too distant from Clark, but sure to be far enough away so he couldn't possibly each out and touch her. That would be stricktly forbidden. She cannot see too far into the interior of the cave from here, but knows from Clark's signal that there are four of the reptilian beasts in there.
Silently, she slips a hand into her bust, plucking out the folded piece of paper from her cleavage. She unfolds it as gently as she had orignally folded it, then her eyes scan the words once more. (So crude.) She doesn't, hoever, start chanting yet, instead opting to look as if she is trying to learn the meaning of the words so that the spell is cast more effectively. In fact, she is waiting for Clark to make the first move. No way she is about to become cannon fodder to a bunch of nameless demons to which she has no mean to fight. It was his battle, not hers.

(Fine) Clark's irritation grows with the stubborness of Venus. He lookes down at the paper to read over the words once more before beining to chant. Quietly he begins to speak.
"Let magics two flow into one,
And now these demons shall be none"
Clark knows the spell won't work unless Venus begins to chant, so he looks up to her eyes expectantly.
Charzin Horde - October 11, 2007 12:40 AM (GMT)
The four reptilian demons stop all movements within the cave. Their inherent sensing ability alering them to the presence of two beings just beyond the cave's entrance. They easily distinguish between the two based upon alignment, though they think nothing of the fact that an evil being is seemingly connected to a force of light. Such intricate machinations are beyond their thought processes. All they know is that any force of light who enters this cave is up for grabs...
Venus D'Kenn - October 11, 2007 08:59 AM (GMT)
(I don't like that rhyme.) Venus peeps over Clark's shoulder at his piece of paper with distaste. It was actually quite fun to see him visibly irritated by her. She could have that effect on people when she so desired, and today she was set fast in stubourn mode. Perhaps it was time to start playing up more? "Go get me the relics, then I'll assist you with being rid of the demons." Hardly keeping her voice low, she speaks out simply.
Clark McGowan - October 18, 2007 02:01 AM (GMT)
{17}
Clark clenches his teeth and squints his eyes in seething frustration. This woman is more difficult than anyone he has ever encountered. He turns around and looks her in the eye. "I think you have this backwards. If we try to get the relics before we vanguish those demons, we die. They will attack anything that approaches. So unless you want to get mauled I suggest you start freaking chanting." Clark eyes widen in irritated anticipation as he finishes his statement.
Venus D'Kenn - October 19, 2007 01:04 AM (GMT)
Pfft. If he thinks that's going to cut it, he can think again. Venus's eyebrow raises as a small smirk grows across her face. It's so joyous to cause someone such seething irritation, and Clark showing it so clearly really only makes it better. She seems undettered by his little outburst, but that's because she really doesn't care. In fact, she doesn't even care about the prospects of these so called relics, as fake as they are.
"Boredom, release me." She calls out breathily, a mocking and dramatic statement as to her current feeling about the situation. (Perhaps I can make this a little more interesting.) She raises her piece of paper upwards toward her face in compliance, her dark eyes moving from word to word. Indeed, she begins to speak the spell constructed by Clark.
"Let magics two flow into one,
And now these demons shall be none"
Clark McGowan - October 19, 2007 01:09 AM (GMT)
{18}
(finally!) Clark rolls his eyes. At least she was chanting now, it was a step closer to his goal. He raises the paper to his face. He knew that this moment was crucial, this spell needed to work in order to find out what the demons wehre hiding. Anticpation flows through him. A burst of adreniline rushes into him as he opens his mouth to continue the chant.
"May fire burn their flesh and face."
Venus D'Kenn - October 19, 2007 09:42 PM (GMT)
Venus is not nearly as drenched in anticipation as Clark is, and instead carries on with her part of the chant with lack lustre expressionless tones.
"May fire burn their flesh and face,
Vanquish now this scaled disgrace."
(I would actually like to see these creatures before they depart. I wonder what they are, exactly. Actually, I have no idea what is in this cave at all, and stood at the mouth I have no clue what resides inside.)
Now, her eyes narrow as her mind begins to pace over the possibilities, not in a frantic and panicked way, but in a collected and rational manner. Lowering the piece of paper from her face, she stops with the spell. "We may need to be closer." And so, without any sign from Clark, Venus glides past him, making her way into the cave somewhat. She doesn't move too far in, still only a yard or so from Clark, and she still moves close to the wall, but she wants to see what exactly she is chanting to destroy.
Clark McGowan - October 19, 2007 10:04 PM (GMT)
{19}
Clark watches as Venus finishes the chant. As she approaches the last line Clark joins in, anxious to see the results of the spell. He is confident it will work, but still a little nervous. He knows that he has been led to this cave for a reason. He knows it is important to find out what this cave holds within, and it is likley this spell is his only shot and finding out. He crosses a finger as he finishes the spell to vanquish the charzin demons.
"Vanuish now this scaled disgrace."
The Nexus - October 23, 2007 03:07 PM (GMT)
[The vanquish spell cast by Clark and Venus is, surprisingly, a success. Two of the Charzin Demons explode in a fiery death. Unfortunately, Clark's weakened magical state and Venus' lack of enthusiasm were not enough to overcome all four demons.]
Charzin Horde - October 23, 2007 03:12 PM (GMT)
The remaining two Charzin Demons let out a high-pitched screech that echoes throughout the cave. They then rush towards the entrance of the cave. Although they have no intention of exiting, they still plan to do damage from within as each lets out a stream of acid that sizzles and erodes at the rock where it lands. Meanwhile, the howl has summoned more demons. These ones unaffected by Clark's earlier spell to make the demons within the cave visible, since they were not present at the time.
Clark McGowan - October 23, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
{20}
Clark jumps up as the acid erupts form withing the cave. He covers his ears as the horid cry reverberates throughout the forest. Panic fills him as everthing startsd to go wrong. He screams to venus before tuning to move. "Run!"
Clark jumps down and begins to run towards the thick forest a few yards ahead. (Shit shit shit shit shit) He stops to turn and look at Venus, he knew she was evil and that her death would not be a loss to anyone but still did feel some guilt in abndoning her. Jumps down and begins to chant, hoping with every fiber of his being that a third spel will work. He begins to chant a spell to turn himself invisible.
"Let me fade into the air
May those against me know not where
Let those who seek me pass me by
May harm not reach me form their eye!"
The Nexus - October 23, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
[The spell is a failure. There is nothing to show of it. It simply provides no result at all.
However, your previous spell has run its course and your active power of Psychometry has now been returned to you. On the flip side, this means that those two Charzin Demons are also invisible once again.]
Clark McGowan - October 23, 2007 06:17 PM (GMT)
CLark shrugs, not surprised the spell was a failure. He turns back quickly. He feels a twinge of regret as he moves away form the cave. He knew it would be a while before he would be abl to return to discover what was within. But he was sure he would one day be back. He Promises this to himself as he enters the forest.
Charzin Horde - October 23, 2007 10:08 PM (GMT)
The Charzin Horde, sensing that Clark has run away, retreats back into the cave. Venus, being a force of darkness, is of no concern to them. Their duty is to protect this cave from beings of light; a task the Source has charged them with since creating this secret entrance into the Underworld. The fact that they were successful in this does not matter to them either as the invisible creatures head deep within the cave.
Venus D'Kenn - October 23, 2007 11:48 PM (GMT)
Well... the thing is, from Venus' perspective there were only two demon's left, and if anything she was more heartened by that that anything else. She also notices, rather oddly, that they seem to be leaving her alone, instead focussing on Clark. It's not long, however, until they fade from sight completely, and Venus is left standing along at the mouth of the cave. She spares no thought for Clark at all, as she desides to perhaps take a few steps further into the cave.
"Hello? Lizard creatures?" Her voice echoes around in the darkness within, but carries no hint of fear, which would be a pointless waste of energy. With no response greeting her, Venus continues on her journey into the cave. (He ran, but now I want to see what is in here, exactly.) Her light footsteps now make little noise as she continues on toward the back of the cave, and still she sees no sign of the lizard demons. After a while of stumbling in the near pitch black, Venus finds herself at a dead end, rather frustratingly.
(What? There's nothing here at all? There must be something!) Unbeknownst to her, she stands at the portal to the underworld, an area she has studdied up on, but is yet to have visited. (Those creatures must be guarding something, and that stupid fool must have wanted something within here. No idiot would just attack creatures for no right reason, surely...) Still, as her dark eyes move across the lumpy surface of the cave wall, she cannot see anything. (There has to be...)
Her curiosity has grasped at her a little too tightly for her liking, and in an elegant sweep of her hands, Venus gestures, sending a bolt of dark energy toward the wall, the secret passage to the catacombs, as a way of perhaps revealing a hidden secret.
The Nexus - October 24, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
[As should be expected, the burst of dark energy passes right through the cavern wall and into the Underworld, where it harmlessly collides with a random cavern wall.]
Venus D'Kenn - October 24, 2007 05:17 PM (GMT)
"Curious." Venus finds herself expressing outloud. (It went straight through...) Slowly, she takes a small step toward the dark wall of the cave again, and once again her eyes slip around it. Perhaps there was treasure in here after all, and though that hapless witch may have run from the treasure, she was here and able to take it. Hesitating from a moment, Venus calmly processes her options. It doesn't take her long, however, to come to the only real conclusion, and she takes a step through the wall and directly into the surface catacombs of the underworld.
