Title: Quad

Mother Nature - April 16, 2007 03:24 AM (GMT)
[A large grassy area outside that is adorned with a couple of trees and stone benches along the perimeter. It is an area for students to come and relax in their downtime.]

Embra Delaney - September 14, 2007 06:19 AM (GMT)
Embra arrives to the designated class area and gently sets her bag on the ground before taking in her surroundings. This was one class she truly enjoyed. Perhaps it was her love for creatures that kept her so interested, but even so, there was no denying the variety the course had to offer. Plus it didn't hurt that she quite liked Professor Moore's teaching style. It was nice to have a Professor that wasn't completely well...(Boring.) The young brunette winces at the thought to acknowledge its slight harshness. Still, sometimes the truth hurts.

(Just as long as they can't read minds. Thank God Miss Emiko isn't around!)

Cameron - September 18, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
(This is incredibly awkward.)

That is the thought running through Cameron Walker's mind as he pushes past the side entrance door. Students rarely used it for one reason or another, though it was far quicker than traveling through the foyer and wrestling past the other students passing to class there.

Cameron makes his way over the grassy area, led by a slightly visible trodden path from the side entrance to the quad. He screams in his head at the stupidity this situation. As if things weren't weird enough between he and JR, this act of running away would definitely set off a few alarms.

Cameron does not take any action to counter this though, already aware that it was too late. So instead, he continues on to the quad where class was to begin shortly. Then he could get lost in the lesson and begin anew. Or so he hoped.

JR Cassidy - September 20, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
JR strolls up to the group, taking his time to cross the distance between the side entrance and the quad. Hands shoved in his pockets and easy smile on his face, JR takes a spot beside Cameron, acting as though the awkwardness that just occurred moments ago didn't happen at all. Instead, he turns his head towards the blonde witch, still smiling, and gives a nod.

"Wonder where Moore is." He figures that is neutral enough of a subject and one that can get their conversation going again. Though he was not the type to dig into Cameron's feelings in an attempt to discover the underlying problem here. Cameron's feelings were his own and he would bring them up if need be.

Randall - September 24, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
Randall breezes in to the would be classroom and his features visibly relax when he fails to spot Moore.(Good. Looks like I've avoided a second lecture today.) His eyes then begin to wander and rest on the pair of Cameron and JR.

(Whatever. Not worth my time right now. I seriously do not get what Natasha sees in either of them.)

Then there was the Delaney girl, which Randall was rather indifferent of. She seemed nice enough, as did most of his classmates, but if Randall actually appeared to care...that'd ruin his reputation, now wouldn't it?

William Moore - October 6, 2007 06:11 AM (GMT)
(Embra; Cameron; JR - the Halliwell; Randall...)

William Moore, or rather Professor Moore, as he was to be known for the next hour and half does a quick head count of the students in the class. He'd noticed that not all of them had found their way to the quad yet... but Moore was the last one to get his feathers ruffled over an issue of punctuality. Indeed, he didn't much care if students decided to skip his class altogether. Of course, that hardly happened, as the Animagi prided himself on keeping his students engaged and interested.

He smiles inwardly as he notices several of the students looking around for him. (Come on now, guys and girls, it's not that hard.) In fact, if Randall had thought to look straight up, he would very easily have spotted Moore. The Magical Creatures professor was perched on a tree above his students, transformed into a cheetah.

His tail swishes against his spotted fur, getting ready... and Moore|Cheetah makes a graceful leap, and almost silent, into the middle of his assembled class. And just to add some ambience to the surprise entrance, the cheetah opens its mouth and lets out a signature yowling cry.

Cameron - October 8, 2007 11:58 PM (GMT)
Cameron does little to acknowledge JR's presence despite the fact the elemental witch stood beside him. Instead, the young witch stares straight ahead, refusing to make eye contact at the moment. Though he does not brush JR off completely, deciding to take JR's offer to begin conversing again.

"Dunno."

It is at that moment in which Moore decides to make his grand entrance - in the form of a cat. A big cat.

The sight of the cheetah causes Cameron to give a surprised jump, not expecting this thing to seemingly come out of nowhere. However, it does not take him long to regain his bearing and remind himself of Professor Moore's power. He is even able to call a smile forth, half out of embarrassment for his jumpiness. "Cool..."

(Though how the hell did I miss a giant cat sitting in a tree?)

JR Cassidy - October 11, 2007 06:58 PM (GMT)
"Very," comes JR's response, his eyes transfixed upon Moore!Cheetah. Though he has to wonder - why? Why a cheetah? As far as J.R. knew, there was nothing particularly spectacular about them. At least not in the magical world. So why did Moore choose to make his entrance this way?

(Can't be to hide his injuries... I'm sure that his whitelighter already took care of those.) So J.R. continues to stand there in deep thought, obsessing over this odd detail. Though outwardly one would never know it and just figure he is another teenage male caught up in the marvel of the current situation.

William Moore - October 17, 2007 07:06 PM (GMT)
Seeing the mixed reactions of the students around him, Moore decides to have a little fun before the actual lesson began. Teaching his students about felines - and indeed familiars in general - was a new endeavour for the Magical Creatures professor.

Moore stalks away from Randall, padded feet barely making any sound as the cat travels over the ground. The cheetah closes the distance between itself and JR Cassidy and Cameron Walker. Moore circles the pair, whiskers bristling in the wind, almost as if he were circling prey. At first the circles are large, but the great cat draws them ever tighter - forcing the two boys closer together.

<J.R. , Cameron>

Moore's particular brand of thought-speech calls out to all ofhis students.

<Tell me, what do you know about familiars?>

JR Cassidy - October 24, 2007 11:44 PM (GMT)
Since he really has no other choice, JR becomes positioned very close to his friend. The two now stand shoulder to shoulder thanks to the circling cheetah, which JR continues to stare at with each pass. Having been in Moore's class before, the invasion of the professor's thought speech does not startle JR in the least. In fact, he expects it.

(Familiars! That's what this is about.) JR had never possessed a familiar of his own. Nor did any of his witchy friends. In truth, familiars seemed to be a dying breed. "Familiars are animals that assist a witch in their Craft. Cats are the most popular and famous, but aren't the only ones."

(Boo-ya!)

William Moore - October 25, 2007 02:40 AM (GMT)
< Very good. There are indeed several creatures that are used as familiars. But cats... ahh... there's something special about cats... >

The great cat suddenly bolts. It runs into the bushes, out of sight of the students. It doesn't take long before the bushes start to rustle and strange sounds of bones reforming can be heard. Several seconds later - a tiny black & white patched kitten walks out. It shakes its tiny body all over, and pads it's way over to Cameron Walker.

The kitten mewls, a pathetic, helpless, and adorable noise, and puts its front paws on the hem of Cameron's jeans. Its tiny little claws grasp onto the denim material as the creature lets out another adorable cry.

Cameron - October 26, 2007 06:55 PM (GMT)
As the large cat runs off, Cameron lets out a breath of air he didn't even realize was being held in. He shares a quick glance with JR, wondering what their professor was up to, before his answer comes padding out of the bushes. Immediately, an instinctual response of 'awwh'-ness overcomes the young witch when the small kitten appears.

When the tiny thing claws at his jeans, Cameron makes to stoop down and pick the thing up - but stops mid way. Remembering exactly who this kitten is, Cam straightens up and clears his throat. Somehow, he felt awkward about cradling his professor in his arms.

"So, professor, what are we doing today that involves familiars?"

Randall - November 1, 2007 04:51 AM (GMT)
Randall's face is essence of boredom, and yet he can feel his heart pound against his ribcage. He was used to Moore by now. but no logical person could deny that having a huge cat launch itself towards you was a less than desirable experience.

(I don't supposed he could just do a normal entrance for once?) The brunette boy can't help but roll his eyes as Cameron barely manages to resist picking up their now significantly smaller professor. (Seriously. It's a grown man inside a furry exterior. Lame.) Hey crosses his eyes and simply smirks at the invisi witch with silent mockery.

Embra Delaney - November 1, 2007 05:02 AM (GMT)
Embra is visibly startled by Moore's appearance. It takes a few moments for her to settle, but once she feels her heart slow down, the young shaman cannot suppress a small smile of appreciation. Moore was one of her favourite teachers. There was never a dull moment in his class, and though she may have appeared quite, Em was always engaged. Her eyes soften as Moore reappears in the guise of a kitten. Has she not known it was her professor, she would most likely have failed to hesitate to pick it up. For now though, she would have to wait to see what he had in store.

Christianna Bachman - November 2, 2007 10:02 PM (GMT)
Christianna sat quietly in the back of the room, eying her surroundings. She glances left to right checking out the guys she thought were cute. She was still unfamiliar with most of the students faces in the class and was also trying to put a name with a face in her head.

... Cameron... he's cute...

Christianna caught herself in a gaze and quickly snapped out of it. Her mind had been in the gutter since her arrival and she hasn't been able to focus. Her heart melts as the cute kitten made it's way around and she watched as Embra held it in her arms.

William Moore - November 6, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
The kitten mews again. it tries to unhook its claws from the denim on Cameron's jeans. And fails. The tiny little fur bundle tries again, more voracious in its tiny movements this time. Shaking its little kitten butt and standing up on its tiny hind paws - the kitten manages to unhook its front claws... and promptly falls backwards head-over-heels over.

The little kitten cries out again, rolls over, picks itself up, and shakes its body all over to get rid of the dust on its fur. Finally, the creature pads in a circle from one student to another.

(Focus, William, focus)

The teacher speaks to himself in an effort to separate his mind from the cozy consciousness of the kitten. It happened sometimes - if the animal's mind was particularly dominant, fearful, or like in this case, just plain comforting - he got momentarily overtaken by the animals' natural instincts. In any case, William focuses back on the lesson at hand.

< Familiars, whatever their shape or form, are particularly helpful in augmenting the spell-casting prowess of any witch or wizard or magickal being. >

It stops in front of Randall, a boy who had a decidedly unimpressed look on its face.

< How about you, Randall? Why don't you try a spell to... oh, I don't know, set fire to that tree over there? it's something you normally wouldn't be able to do, is it? >

Orin - June 21, 2008 12:06 AM (GMT)
[Dream Plane]

Orin and Dani fall amongst debris from the stone wall they just crashed through. The former maneuvers his arms from around the professor's body and shifts so that his large claws are wrapped around her neck. Now throttling the woman as they fall down towards the ground, Orin releases a feral growl from deep within his throat, not at all caring that they are victims of gravity. Right now, there is only the kill. Everything else is of little consequence.

Danielle Talbot - June 21, 2008 12:12 AM (GMT)
[Dream Plane]

Dani is still slightly frazzled, though she does her best not to show it. She has not quite expected the large demon to charge like he did and was even more surprised with the swiftness that he moved. Now she finds herself falling through the air with said demon's claws around her neck. It is not an ideal situation.

Instinctively, her hands make to pry the bigger and deadlier claws off of herself. However, instinct soon gives way to reason and Dani formulates a much more productive plan. Calming herself, the Magic School professor allows her body to go limp in Orin's grasp while she focuses on teleporting out of it.

Reappearing above the dream demon, Dani allows him to continue to fall while she follows along, but now in standing position. This gives her much more control over speed and other factors that can be twisted to her benefit.

Orin - June 21, 2008 01:05 AM (GMT)
[Dream Plane]

Orin is not nearly as thrown by Dani's disappearing act as he had been by previous feats performed by the professor. He is beyond underestimating her and being surprised. In fact, with her gone from sight, it allows Orin to regain composure and rational thinking. Spinning around, Orin makes a swipe with his claws upwards at Dani who floats just above him before completing the full 360 spin in time to land on his feet, slamming his fist into the ground for dramatic effect.

Rising to a standing position, he turns to face his opponent. By now, his anger is temporarily under control, but he has long since ceased his control over the nightmare scenarios, though they are far from his mind at this moment. "Prepare to die."

Danielle Talbot - June 21, 2008 01:17 AM (GMT)
[Dream Plane]

Dani had decreased the pull of gravity on her body, allowing her to rebound upwards in the air in order to avoid the attack. She then proceeds to float down to the ground harmlessly just a few feet away from the Soma Demon. Arms crossed, she observes him through cold eyes, awaiting his next move. She felt playing the defensive gave certain benefits in the Dream Plane.

The attack does not come, however, as Orin chooses to verbally taunt her with death. Realizing that he was on to her tactics, she knows that it is now time to switch it up. Using her profound skills in the Dream Plane, Dani allows her senses to flow out. They tell her that the student dreamers are free from the nightmare scenarios that faltered without their master's constant control. Smiling, she unfolds her arms and holds them out wide as she summons the students to her. "Prepare to meet justice."

Dream Plane - June 24, 2008 05:32 PM (GMT)
[All the various Magic School student dreamers - the ones who are still alive that is - appear in the Dream Plane version of the school's quad, assembled around Professor Talbot.]

Danielle Talbot - June 24, 2008 05:40 PM (GMT)
[Dream Plane]

"Welcome to your lesson in the mechanics of the Dream Plane." Though she is speaking to the student around her, Dani does not take her eyes from Orin's form. She would not make the mistake of underestimating him as he had done to her, and she would protect these students as she had been unable to before.

"This is your target." The professor extends an arm, indicating Orin as the clear and obvious target of this 'exercise'. "He is behind your recent nightmares and for you all being here presently." Eyes narrow and voice goes cold as she continues like a judge listing off the crimes of an accused, which is not far off. Except she planned to allow her students to play executioner in a bit of poetic justice. "He is also responsible for the deaths of several students; your classmates."

"The first - and only - rule of the Dream Plane is that there are no rules. Literally." Danielle continues to speak while addressing those around her. "If your mind can dream it up then it's possible. To make anything occur in this plane, one only must will it to happen."

Orin - June 25, 2008 04:07 PM (GMT)
[Dream Plane]

To see that the students have all been freed from their nightmares rubs Orin raw. If he were the fire-breathing type, his nostrils would be smoking right now. He glares at this bitch of a woman for her audacity to show up and wreck his plans. Does she not have an English class to teach or something?

"I am not your target." The words are gruff, full of rage. Orin throws his head back and lets out a growl as he suddenly grows in size. Using the loose reality of the Dream Plane, Orin manipulates his own body into growing six times its size. The howl soon turns into laughter. Swinging his arms around like a hammer, he brings them down towards the students and their professor. "I am your maker."

The Nexus - June 25, 2008 04:08 PM (GMT)
[The scene fades to black.]

Danielle Talbot - July 2, 2008 09:39 PM (GMT)
[Dream Plane]

The scene fades in to an impressive scene. The still giant-sized Orin is chained down to the ground in a lying position. His arms are pinned to the sides of his body with his face down into the ground. Each one of her students is responsible for the creation - and now the maintaining - of the chains that bind the demon.

"Before we part this night, there is one more lesson I have to share." Dani's voice rings out loudly so that all her students may hear her. She even allows her gaze to travel from one student's face to the next. "Whatever befalls your body here, in the Dream Plane, affects it in reality as well." Now, as she speaks, Dani approaches the head of Orin, suddenly focusing on nothing else. Just the words and the demon.

"Break a foot, bruise an arm. It matters not. It becomes reality." Brandishing the sword which she holds in her dominant hand. Raising the weapon high, she admires it in the light, suddenly speaking to it. "Even death." With a feral yell, Dani glares into Orin's eyes as she brings the blade down, penetrating his forehead and killing him. Stepping away from the now deceased demon, Dani takes a few steps back, addressing the students once more.

"Here endeth the lesson." Waving a single hand in a semi circle, she sends the students to their individual dreamscapes. With them safe, she manipulates the Dream Plane, disposing of Orin's deceased form before vanishing from the plane herself.
