War of the Heavens
Part II
As the Elder Adelia drops to the ground, Pain feels the immense power of the higher being coursing through her body. For a split second, Pain enters a vulnerable state as the ecstasy of being filled with so much power overwhelms her. Her head tilts back and her mouth parts slightly. These beings were only a step beneath her and the power they brought to the table is incredible. She could live off of them for a long time if she conserved. Not that she would, but it is possible. Lowering her head again, Pain's gaze locks onto her targets, a wild passion in her eyes. She was going to kill them all.
The hellion goddess shoots a hand out and channels Adelia's power of electrokinesis. A continuous stream of electrical energy erupts into being and strikes at the Elders before. Several of them are hit and are thrown by the force. Pain wastes no time following up with another stream from her other hand. By this point, the Elders begin retaliating, throwing their own bursts of lightning at the invading goddess.
A bolt strikes her in the arm and Pain ceases her attacks long enough to glance over at the non existent wound. A maniacal laugh comes from the goddess as she turns to her attackers. Instead of giving a snarky comment, Pain chooses to continue with her decimation of the heavens.
A couple of stray blasts strike the mostly decorative pillars that rise high into the heavens. No one takes note of it as the battle ensues. Pain had a taste of blood now and will not stop until her hunger is satisfied.
Getting bored of the electrokinetic attacks, she switches tactics. With a swift motion of her hand, she channels the telekinetic powers she stole from some witch in the mortal realm. The Elder Zorn finds himself caught by the telekinetic force and is thrown from his feet and then dragged across the mist-covered ground to Pain's feet.
Pain grabs a hold of him and drains him of his life force, absorbing his powers along with it. She tosses him aside and continues on her rampage. She walks through the heavens, mostly unphased by the Elders' attacks. Pain simply counters for the thrill of the battle moreso than out of defense.
One by one, Pain takes out the Elders, only needing to touch them for a moment to drain them of all they were worth. Yet the remaining Elders continue to fight on valiantly even though the battle is obviously hopeless.
Standing across from Perrin, the last surviving Elder, Pain takes the opportunity to survey the damage. The bodies of Elders litter the ground. Pillars lay crumpled after being struck down by the magical attacks of both sides. All that remained were these two beings, neither about to back down. Pain was unsure whether she should think the man foolish or brave. It did not matter. In either case, he is dead.
Perrin's hands come up and twin streams of electrical energy come at Pain. They strike her chest and she is shoved backwards. Shaking it off, she looks up at the last Elder and simply begins to approach him, walking. Another bolt makes contact with her shoulder, but Pain simply shrugs it off and continues en route to Perrin.
The blasts become more frequent and urgent as Perrin fights to slow her down, but she doesn't. She never screamed from pain nor was she the bloodthirsty goddess. Her face holds no emotion as she strides towards Perrin, continuing to close the distance between them.
At some point, the attacks by Elder Perrin stop and he stands there, waiting for the inevitable. Pain stands before him and isn't quite sure what to make of the man. She gazes into his eyes for a long moment, studying him. Her hand shoots out and clamps around the Elder's neck. Using the physical contact as a medium for her powers, Pain drains Perrin like she had all the others. Once finished, she orbs from the Heavens with the knowledge of where every single whitelighter is located within the mortal realm.
