The Coven all wake up from their slumber and begin to roam the castle, running into each other as they go. They end up at the kitchen to get some food where they run into Chris Halliwell. Julianna makes a promise that they will step up and take on Pain that night, though she does not share this with any others. Unbeknownst to her, Aurora has similar plans and joins the Coven for brunch, along. Her sisters have disappeared on different errands and make arrangements and failsafes.

In the Axis, Aidan continues to try and break through to the summit of the tower but with no success. Meanwhile, Caleb and Natasha roam the lower levels and numerous other beings arrive at the tower after becoming lost in time.

At Magic School, Emiko meets with her staff to discuss the issue of the gods and disappearing students. She then calls for an assembly to relay the information to the students as well as give the newer students an orientation. Before she arrives at the auditorium, she runs into Daria who had been assisting CeCe in the main office. Daria had received a second vision regarding a girl who had ran from a battle at Magic School. Emiko promises to speak with her about it after the assembly.

At the assembly, Emiko informs the students about the current situation and then dismisses them. Holding the newer students back, Emiko has Alec Daigle use his powers to reveal the magical heritages of the newer students. After the auditorium clears out with the exception of Emiko, Alec and Daria, Emiko digs deeper into Daria's knowledge of the vision she had earlier and surmises that the vision is of the past during Pain's invasion of Avalon.

On Olympus, the gods split up into various factions. Wyatt, Victor and Ali strategize over the titans whilst many of the other gods hide away in their rooms and do nothing. Luc roams the world and has a run in with a warlock and a demon merchant, getting some information about Pain from the latter. Jenna and Constantine make plans to target Pain and are soon joined by Luc. By this time, the three receive a summons from Wyatt on Olympus who has decided to launch an attack against the titans. The plan is to divide and conquer, taking out the titans one at a time while distracting the others.

Estella, the titaness of water, is the first target. A battle takes place in the San Francisco Bay and the gods easily overwhelm her and Wyatt locks her within Tartarus once more before the gods move on to New York. There, Helios, the titan of fire, has been destroying the city. Helios puts up more of a fight than Estella and the gods find it a bit more difficult to take him down but do win out eventually.

The second opening into Tartarus alerts Titus to the gods' plan and he immediately sets out for Olympus. Meanwhile, the other gods head towards England to encounter Aesir, the titan of air, whilst those on Olympus defend it against Titus. Eventually, the Gods end up taking out Aesir and quickly rush to Olympus.

Meanwhile, the Coven summons Pain and finally see what all of their training has been for. Pain, who has prepared for this battle, doesn’t hesitate to start the fight, sending Li flying across the room and knocking her unconscious. Sasha, quick to try and help her fallen Covenmate regardless of past feuds, springs at Pain attempting to breach her power limitations and fade into her. However, the hell goddess grabs her and sucks the life essence out of her. With Li down, and Sasha dead, the Coven doesn’t look as if they are going to last long.

On Avalon, Dmitri leads Daria and Tyson through the forest in order to find Maddi Lowmex, the girl in Daria’s vision. Originally intended to be a group consisting of Sebastian, Daria, and Tyson, the trio was split up by Emiko, who needed Sebastian and replaced him with Dmitri.

The gods continue their onslaught against Titus with a master plan formulated by Wyatt that consists of god pairs that distract and strike. Vanessa, posing as Estella, is the first to try and distract Titus meanwhile Melinda and Victor manipulate him internally. It proves successful as Vanessa finds an opening and strikes... "below the belt".

At the Pentagram Table, Thomas uses his powers to get Li out of harm's way. He requests assistance from Aurora, who summons blades for the remaining Coven members. However, it does no good as Pain lashes out with fireballs. Julianna deflects one, but Luna is hit and killed by the goddess. This breaks Julianna, who has accepted the Coven's dismal fate.

In the year 2028, Celeste uses her powers to steer Wyatt away from creating the future from which she came. It is obvious that this is the failsafe Aurora had created in case the Coven lost, giving the world a second chance to fight off Pain. Celeste even takes it a step further by having Wyatt's muse inspire him with a true solution to the witch trials.

The current timeline ceases to exist and the world returns to the year 2028, and more specifically the morning after Wyatt would have relinquished his destiny.
