Title: Furby Houses, Props, Clothes Etc

Jasper - January 29, 2008 04:17 PM (GMT)
I'm interested to know if anyone has made houses/set ups (beds, chairs etc) for their Furbies.

Also does anyone make/buy clothes & props for their Furbys? Where do you buy them? How do you make them?

Pictures would be a plus.

I ask all this because I'm thinking of making a house for my Furbies, maybe something that can be easily stored away for taking pretty pictures and general indulging my inner (and outer) child, and got to wondering if anyone else has done something similar.

I made a discoteque for my Furbys. It was tremendous fun and really added some pizazz to the decor of my home. I just opened up a closet I wasn't using and built it in there out of scrap pieces of lumber I had laying around. You can really make the structure out of absolutely anything, cardboard, foam-core, etc. Recycled junk works great. Just use your imagination. The real trick is in the decorating. A trip to the fabric store can net you some really great fabric to use...a trip to the paint store can get you some cool colors or wallpaper...a trip to the department store can result in cool throw rugs, flowers, shower curtains, fake furs...anything at all can work! Just keep your mind open to the possibilities and your eyes peeled...come up with new ways to use ordinary things. If you're in the USA, stores like Ross or Marshalls often have odd little pieces in their home decor section...like doll-sized chairs, sofas and trunks that work great for Furbys and are fairly inexpensive. In my experience, Furbys love  all forms of luxury!

If I do this right, here's a link to early photos of my disco, Furby a Go Go. Regardless, I'll try to post some new photos in the next few days.

Hi FurbyFaerie - your link worked, nice to see the disco photos again, and that lovely pink furby of yours :flam:

Jasper - I've collected quite a few 'props' for staging furby parties and photos, if you look at some of the old threads that I started last year you'll see mine like to specialise in pint glasses and cocktails- with a fair few streamers and things thrown in. I posted some Halloween pics of them dressed up as ghosts, and made broomsticks from twigs and string . . . never too old for furbys I say

I made a furby tent. :wiz:

I've made Furby jewelry, and for Halloween a witches hat and broomstick (similar to the one Cas made). Also a grass skirt out of strips of beige coloured fabric. Nothing too complex. Dr Rob made an entire Rock Star Furby complete with jacket, it can be seen in the Furby Fan Section, under Artwork: http://www.adoptafurby.com/furbyfansection

The guitar was from Build-a-Bear though

I loooove Furby a Go Go, just took another look at the pictures, it's as good as I remember it. Didn't you post another lot of pictures of it afterwards Furby Faerie, in a different thread?

Wow! I love Furby a Go Go! And that custom rockstar furby is great.

I'm currently building a treehouse for my Furbies - well for Dusk because he's old and sometimes grumpy and wants somewhere to store all his artifacts from his travels. Currently it's just a box with a window in it, painted brown and with wooden 'rafters' on the roof. I'm planning to make a hammock I can attached to said rafters but can be removed to clear space, and fix some holders to the treehouse so I can hook it on the metal grill below the top bunk of the spare bed (the Furbys have taken up residence in/on the chest of draws under the bunk). I'll post pictures when it's nearing completion.

Sounds great, can't wait to see the pics. And if you have it so it's hanging, then on Summer days, it could be hung from a tree in the garden ^_^

I wonder if you could make some Furby-sized bean bags to go inside it - you can get bean fillings cheaply from fabric shops, and I think it would be the ideal kind of furniture for a tree-house

Good idea (: would accomodate Furby's irregular shaped bums too.
