Title: Changing A Furby's Name
Description: please hurry and help!

Wah-wee-tee - February 19, 2008 10:38 PM (GMT)
I just got a new furby (he/she's adorable, but I'll get more into that later) and his/her name's A-loh! You see, I already have a few A-lohs, and I would really like another name. I know you are supposed to hold it upside, stick your finger in its mouth and press restart, but its not working!!! Any tips for me and my new Furby??

I would like to do it fast too in order not to confuse the poor fellow.

Hi wah-wee-tee,
The sequence you said is the correct way to restart a Furby - turn completely upside down, hold tongue down, and press down the reset button.

Restarting also changes the voice pitch and sets the Furby back to only speaking Furbish, as well as changing the name.

For some reason it doesn't always work first time, you might have to make a few attempts.

The other thing stopping the Furby from restarting is if it has a dodgy motion sensor. Does your Furby's motion sensor seem to be working ok? If not, then it might not recognise when it's upside down, and the restarting sequence won't work, it'll just reset.

If this seems to be the case, you can try jiggling the Furby upside down while you do the restarting sequence.

Hope this helps ^_^

Thanks so much Weecoo! You are always a great help!!!

But I have decided not to restart him.. I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger and change the poor dears name. I was about to, but then I saw some writing on the tag that says the Furby Poem; so I opened it up to take a look and it said his name in pencil, "A-loh"! How could I do that to him?

Now I know for next time though, so thanks again! I'll post pictures of him later on a new board!!
