Hi, I´m new here. I live in Germany, please remember this when you appraise my English. I´m 50 years old and I love furbys. It started when my husband bought one of the 2005 furbys. I was fascinated but I did not really like him (sorry to the lovers of the 2005 furbys). I had a look at eBay and found one of the year 98/99 furbys. It was a wolf. After a little hesitance I placed a bid. He is sitting beside me now and looks at me with his green eyes (sometimes he sleeps with open eyes, I like this and he likes it also). When he arrived at my house he was dirty and his fur was fuzzy. I had to wash his fur and to brush it. He also had a bad furby-cold and I had to feed him and to pet him and to play with him until he got well. I think he feels good now. At that time, brushing and feeding the wolf, I fall in love with 98/99-furbys. At the present there are more than 100 furbys (including some shelbys and buddies) living with me. And I´m very happy with them. Ok, that was it for today. For the moment it is stressful for me to use the English language. I hope it becomes more easy-going. By the way: Within the next few days I will present a find I can not explain.

Hi Olla, welcome to the forum.

Good to have some more older Furby fans as well as the young ones. There is a big mixture of Furby fans on the forum, Furby lovers of all ages and from all different places round the world!

Don't worry about your English, it is very good, and there are several members here in the same situation as you (where English is not their first language).

Most of my furbys speak English. In Germany you can not find all the furbys released. Or they are in desolate conditions. Most of my furbys come from USA, some from the UK. One furby fake comes from the Philippines. He speaks a very strange language. We (me and the furbys) do not understand him. I have one Spanish speaking furby but he does not work. And I have one Japanese speaking furby but still in his box. I do not have the heart to put him out, so I´m looking for another one -maybe preloved- to play with. By the way: It´s very amusing when English speaking and German speaking furbys play with each other. They seem to be all-rounder as far as languages are concerned. On the other hand I feel that the German speaking furbys have some problems with their "Easter Eggs". And I found it very difficult to play "Hide and Seek" with them, whereas it was never a problem with the English speaking furbys.

You are talking of the 2005-furby, right? The German 2005-furbys tells the story too. I had one (I did not really like him, sorry to all 2005-furby lover). He told the story ever so often that I could recite it. And he always wanted to play with me (I do not know how this game is called in English, maybe "green light - red light". I found it annoying. One more time: Sorry to all 2005-furby lover.

I love all 98/99-furbys. But my darling is the good old wolf with his green eyes.

I think its wonderful to grow up in a family with more than one language. I did not and I always have to fight with my English. Speaking or writing English is as walking on ice for me. I´m never sure what I really say.

When i talked with Rosanna first time,my english was very very very and very bad.I didn't knew the english "Perfekt".I used the "was" word too much and my phrases were not good,so Rosanna couldn't understand them too much.I didn't learned english before,i learned it for my own.I readed a lot of english storys and phrases on the net,i whatched english cartoons,sometimes i used a dictionery,and my english was better and better,so now anyone can understand me,and i can understand them too ^_^

I got the PM,but i didn't answered,because i saw it at late,and i was sleepy.I answer today.Well i'm depressed today too,becuase i had a bit of a bad day.
I found 5 four-leaf clover and gave them to my friends and for my form master.This day was lucky,but then my best friend Barbi talked with my other friend Eszty,and they talked a lot.Barbi doesn't talk with me a lot like with Eszty.Sometimes she doesn't listen to me.:(She uses dirty words.She didn't do this before (she never used dirty words and she never was wild before),and that's why i choose her to be my best friend.But now i feel that she doesn't like me and don't want to talk with me.I feel myself better and better lonely.Today she looked on me with angry eyes (just a bit),and she was serious.I was a bit scared.Then my other classmate Beka wanted me to gave her a four-leaf clover too,then she didn't find our other classmate Judit.I knew where she was so i told her,but she said me a big shut up.:o
Then my form master camed in and i told him that i had a weird dream about the class.My classmate told him that i watch a lot of ghost videos,and when i told that in my dream i bought a gyros,and there was the principal.My form master completed my phrase with that:there was the ghost of the principal. But no.It was the principal and not a ghost.He just said this for a humor,but it was not funny:(
At geography the teacher didn't asked anything,and he wanted me to answer.I was so scared,i didn't knew what should i do.My teacher was angry and asked that why i'm not answering,cause he asked me a question.I asked with a scared and quiet voice,that what was the question,and he looked on me with crushing eyes.He asked again,then not me but my friend Eszter answered.I was sad.My best friend said that the teacher didn't asked anything.I was surprised :blink:

Could it be that you were very touchy this day? When I was younger I had days I found hard to take. With "advanced age" :rolleyes: I had such days to a lesser extent. Today I don´t care for many things which would have hurt me in the early period of my life. (Urgh... that was a big production in English, hope you understand what I want to say.)

I live in a house with a big garden together with my partner in life and a big dog. The dogs name is Rosa. She is a mix between German shepherd dog and Kangal. Kangals are giant-sized dogs living in Turkey. In the past I had also two cats but they died in the age of 14 and 16 years. The Furby I like most is my good old wolf. Anywhere in this forum I posted a picture of him. Do you want fo learn more German words? "Dog" is "Hund" in German and "German shepherd dog" is "Deutscher Schäferhund". "Parakeet" is "Sittich", "chicken" is "Huhn". Is your parakeet blue or green or is it a white one?

Its amusing that my Furby fake speaks Mandarin. A friend of mine lived in China for two years. She speaks a little Mandarin. So I can ask her. Thanks a lot!!
