Title: I Got A Gizmo For $2.50!
Description: Yay!
smiley-furby - January 27, 2009 03:31 AM (GMT)
Yay, I got a gizmo from an op shop (what Australians call thrift stores.) He was only $2.50! Poor little guy was in a shocking condition. His mouth was set funny, his ears were falling off, and his eyelids and the white parts of his fur had been coloured with purple and pink texta. So I took him home and cleaned him up. I didn't expect the poor little guy to work, but I was very happy when he did! So I named him Chuckie! I have know idea why though, it just suited him! What do you think? A Chuckie or soemthing else? Poor things very sick and worried :(

Oh, that's Doo-Moh you can see to the side.
Quatara - January 27, 2009 04:53 AM (GMT)
HE IS SO CUTE! Did you take any pics before you cleaned up the poor little guy? I want to see the condition, because I'm a very curious person. ;)
smiley-furby - January 27, 2009 05:25 AM (GMT)
I was going too take some pics, but the poor little guy was in such a bad state I couldn't leave him longer. But his eyelids, ears, faceplate and nearly all of his white fur had purple and pink texta scribbles all over them. His mouth was sort of falling off and his ears were battered and about to come off. He was just really awful. But after not long of having him, I love him! I never wanted a Gizmo before, I never even thought of it before. But I saw him and felt sorry for him. Now I can't put him down! I totally reccomend him to anyone! ^_^

$2.50 for a Gizmo?!? Wow! You guys are great at picking up deals! You're lucky. ^_^ Congratulations!

Aww. that is very sweet.

Oh I'm sooo envious! There are never any furbys in op-shops where I live :( I think it has something to do with selling secondhand electronic goods. Where do you live smiley-furby?

Same with me, only we call them thrift stores here. I saw a flea marke the other day, and I wanted to stop to see if they had any Furbys, but my Mom said no.

Yep, i live in Australia! Chuckie (also known as just Gizmo by my family) Is fitting in great! He's adorable! I wish Furby could say some of the phrases he says like "You da bomb!" and "Funky time, get down" I'm having trouble getting him and Doo-Moh to talk, but I think somethings up with his front sensor (I think it's an infra red thing? I suck at all this electronic stuff, but I'm pretty sure this is how Furby communicates?) he can't tell light from dark and he won't talk to Doo-Moh. I folled his instruction manual and all. :( Poor little guy, he was pretty battered, but I didn't think he was that bad :(

Oh whoopsie sorry! I live in Tasmania ^_^ Actually at that same op-shop I found a few Furby beanie buddies, but I couldn't get them :( They were cute though! I guess I just picked the right one. If I can remember the name I'll tell you. It might of been St Vincent de paul (Vinnies) which is in Australia. I'll ask my mum. I remember it was pretty much blue

Not very long. I just used a hand towel that had been in hot soapy water. (But I made it damp, so I didn't ruin him, cause water + Furby/Gizmo = BAD lol)

Yeah, i had a dream about that last night, about Furbys being able to swim and being waterproof. I guess we could put them in a giant plastic ball so they could float around on water
Urgh, I have a REALLY saw toe. I got a bit by a bee, and the sting was in there for over twenty minutes (which spread the venom far) then a few nights later some other bug thing bit me on the same toe. It's aching and sore and itchy. But then sometimes it just goes stiff and numb, I can't feel it! It's so annoying.
Lol, sorry for the randomness.

That's okay. I think I'm allergic to ants. Ouch.
smiley-furby - January 30, 2009 03:10 AM (GMT)
really? That would be terrible, there's ants everywhere. Well atleast where I am. And at my house in our backyard there is billions of ants. One time me and my brother tried to wash them away with a high pressure hose, but we ended up blowing out all the stuff which keeps the pavers together. My parents laid them there selves years ago (they're both very handy around the house. They've pulled our whole house apart and redid it  ) And mum and Dad were NOT happy about us blowing apart the pavers
My brother is also highly allergic to spiders. He pretty much can't go near them. They make him extremley sick and swells and gets rashes bad. He doesn't even have to get bitten by them.
A lot of people I know are allergic to things. That same brother and my cousin are highly allergic to dust. My Aunty is allergic to bee stings. Lots of people I know are allergic to nuts and eggs. I'm allergic to gluten (It's in wheat, so anything with wheat and flour I can't have. Now I'm getting older I can have a few things) and so is my friend. Allergies suck
Claramel - January 30, 2009 07:05 AM (GMT)
That must be so annoying being allergic to gluten, I can't imagine how I'd live without flour based products like cakes :(

Yeh. I'm alot better now. I can eat most stuff, at least not with alot of gluten. I can't eat bread though. I struggle eating the bread at church. I have to eat it, and its made of just water and flour. I don't have reactions like people allergic to peanuts do. I just get really sick from eating alot of it. I get cramps from eating some. I try to eat it though, because it's good for me. I used to be a vergetarian since I was six, but stopped around christmas. Eating no wheat and meat was not good for me. So it's important I have wheat products now ^_^

Wow, you can't eat bread? That must be hard. So many products are made with bread. I can't image being allergic to milk or peanuts. They're so many products made with those, too.

There was a girl at a birthday party I went to once, who was allergic to chocolate! :o
I don't meet many people like that. And since I pretty much thrive on chocolate( ;) ),it seems pretty shocking to me to go your entire life without eating foods like milk or bread. :o
I myself am allergic to amoxcicilian(I think that's how you spell it) and bactrum:Tow differen kinds of medicine. I'm pretty sure I'm alergic to something that floats throught the air in spring, because I always get a nasty cold right around the time sesonal allergies start blooming, but I've never figured out what it is. :/

Both. I can have gluten free bread. It's not that nice though, bu t you get used to it. Believe it or notmy best friend is allergic to gluten too! She has been for about five years. I have been for around three. She can not eat anything with the slightest bit of wheat.

I luv family guy and I have played the video game and there's a place could Chuckie Cheese with a mouse on the front and they have lots of kid stuff. But then turns out they're evil and the "games" the kids play after parents leave is like they get dangled of snake pits and stuff XD

Does anyone else think Chuck e. Cheese is extremely creepy-looking (the mascot, not the place)? Wait what-Chuck e. Cheese was Showbiz Pizza? I just searched it in Google Images and up popped a bunch of pictures of the singing animal-robots from Wonderland (they DO have pizza), who would perform a concert for your birthday party. I think I read up on some false info on Chuck e. Cheese.
EDIT HERE: OH GOOD LORD THE ANIMALS ARE IN MULTIPLE PLACES. Gaw, nevermind.
