Title: How Can You Tell If A Furby Is A Boy Or Girl?
Description: my hypothosis

Whirlaway13 - July 29, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
How can you tell if a furby is a boy or a girl? Since the day one.... I've had my own hypothosis.

I believe that if a furby has a full mane (hair on top of their head going all the way down their back), that they are a boy, and if the furby has a tuft of fur on their head and a seperate tail that they are a girl.

What are YOUR thoughts on this???

This is always a tough one - some of them have higher pitched voices than others, and some just have a girly face  I usually go by the voice :D

When I was little, I always wondered that about my furbys. I remember at school, people talked about them a lot, but no one had any. They were just something to chat about. As for me, I had five. And I wouldn't shut up about them. :P

At my school, the myth was that Only boy furbys could have hair on their heads and a seperate tail. Girl or Boy Furbys could have a mane. This was because most girls our age had exceedingly long hair, and there was the occaisional dude with a mohawk. Yes, even during or around second grade

Then some little kid in the distance shouts, "What about furr colors? Is my furby with a light pink hair and tail a boy?" It's a miracle anybody even heard this kid, since they were pretty much a second grade outcast - pretty sad actually. I did talk to her then, and still do. She still an outcast if you're wondering. But regardless, that question sparked the debate that would take out the whole second grade, a quarter of the third, and the more intellegent half of the first. ;)

But it was decided that we would ake up our own rules.

If your furby had a seperate tail, it was a boy, unless the hair was a 'girly' color. If your furby had a mane with 'girly' colors, it was a girl. If the colors were 'boy-ish', furby was a boy. Infact, we were so intellegent back then, ( yeah ) we even found 'social status' for our furbys. It was decided that if your furby had 'girly' colored furr and a deep voice, or the other way around, your furby was doomed to be in a position similar to my outcast friend and I, until the end of days.

I never really cared what they said though. It's not like they would all end up visiting my house anyway, so I could think what I wanted to. And I was happy as long as my furbys loved me. Nobody cared that Tamagotchis didn't have genders, so why did furbys habve to? And it's not like people in my town didn't know about Tamagotchis, I brought one in for show and tell for goodness sake!

 that didn't go well by the way...poor tamagochi :(

This post is huge. I don't miss second grade.

Ok I go by fur color not by if they have a mane or not

example:

Black and blue = boy
Purple and Blue = girl

then if it is blue and pink I go with how it looks mane or no mane the face on them or even there voice if they have no voice I go by fur color

FABULOUS!! I love everyones stories!

I think it's great that we all came up with our own ideas about genders.

:flam: I have this one and think it's def a girl

:tux: is a boy to me
:hic: is a girl except mine has pink hair and pink tummy

Wow! B)

I agree with most of those actually. There are some Furbys that can be boys or girls I think, such as the Coffee Furby and the Leopard Furby, and it also depends on their voice. But most of those I would agree with! And there always seem to be more boy Furbys that girls, even in the Adoption Centre.

Emo Furby - November 19, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
ummm i think the furbys can't be girls with high pitched voice, because some limited edition furbys (like the royal, santa, reindeer) has high pitched voice too ( sometimes) and they are boys

Pirka - November 23, 2007 09:21 PM (GMT)
I used to believe the 'mane and tail' thing back in the days of Furby lore.

But I think nowadays it really depends on the specific Furby. ;)

I usually go by the voice pitch. My Snowball Furby has a tail and it's a boy, but I guess it can go either way.

FurbyBabyVani - January 4, 2009 06:13 PM (GMT)
thats very intresting! :D

i say thats a boy furb when he looks like one. :tig:
and i say thats a girl furb when she looks like one..... :strip:

and sometimes i think its a boy/girl furb when i hear theyr voices..... ^_^

I actually read in some furby websites that the child can choose if the furby's gender is a boy or a girl. My baby furby May-May has a mane and shes a girl. My adult furby Patches has a tuft of hair and a tail and he's a boy. :)
