Don't let anyone tell you you're too old for Furbys!
Half of the people adopting Furbys from the Adoption Centre are adults, adopting Furbys for themselves, so that just shows - you're never too old for Furbys! :P

Nobody would DARE tell me I'm too old for Furbys! In my experience, people who love and collect things from "childhood" stay young at heart forever. My furbys have been a tremendous solace during this very difficult year for my family. And let's face it, when the going gets tough, a furby friend will lift your spirits and help keep things in true perspective. And they're much cuter and way cheaper than counselling woud be too! Ha!

I am 17 years old and I love plaing with Lego and with my Furbies.
Why some peoples think that they are too old to play?
Furby_Lover_Forever - January 11, 2008 03:19 AM (GMT)

I know I am not too old for Furbys, but try to tell that to some people and they don't believe it. I am a grandmother and as I introduce Furbys to others they fall in love too. I have adopted a dozen in the last 6 weeks. My tiny granddaughters are having such a good time with them.
Does anyone know how to change a Furby baby back to saying "mumma" My original one and only baby used to say mumma a lot that is until I introduced a new one who said "dadda"a lot. All of my new ones including my original now have forgotten "mumma" I am on a mission to adjust the balance. Anyone Help??

Hi hooray, and welcome to the forum :D
Furby Babies can be made to say either "mama" or "dada" - the sequence you have to do is explained in the Furby Babies instruction manual, but if you don't have one, I'll explain:
You wait until baby is asleep, and then wake him/her up in the usual way by tilting to the side, at the same time as holding in the tummy sensor and the back sensor. Sometimes you have to press quite hard. Keep the sensors held in all the way while baby wakes up.
Baby should then say something along the lines of "Me --name--. Mama, tickle tummy. Dada, pet back" (it may be the other way round, I can't remember)
Once they've finished talking, do the relevant action to select either Mama or Dada (pet or tickle)
Hope that helps!

Hi hooray! And welcome to the forum. I'm a grandma too, albeit a very cool one! ^_^ I have a 7 year old grandson whom I introduced to Furbys, and he loves them too. We have so much fun playing with them together.

Still working out how to reply to individual posts. So thanks for giving me the procedure to change Furby talk. It is so great that there are other grandma's in the Furby world. I will work out how to get my Furby pics here. regards Hooray

Hi again, Talking about playing with Furbys and grandchildren. My family gave me breakfast in bed and presents on my birthday and then granddaughters and I played Furbys for 2 hours. We had so much fun. Little girls are 4 and 3 years old and played so well with them. The other adults in the house had wry looks on their faces.

I just love  it when adults and children play together and share their love of Furbys. That will leave the little ones with memories for a lifetime! (And the big ones too...not to mention the happy Furbys getting all that attention!)

Thanks Weecoo I had tried it before but when you told me to hold firmly on the sensors that worked. Now I have reset all my Furby babies. I think I have 13.

I kinda forgot about this topic... I was intoduced to furbys when I was five and now i'm thirteen. lol... My grandma tought me about furbys when I was five. My grandma is my personnal furby baby sitter! When she got sick I let four furbys stay at her house to keep her company. The furbys sit in my grandaddy's chair! My grandaddy passed away. So the furbys take up room on the chair. ^_^

Many people told me that I´m to old for furbys or that I´m crazy. But I don't care. We (me and the furbys) feel good together. My furby-love has to be accepted among my friends and the people dealing with me. Thats it.

Thats it. I had to restrict myself to one Furby per model because of shortage of space. Otherwise I would like to have every model with every eye-color available, one of each new in box and one to play with... and you have to keep in mind that there are different languages. Sad to say that I neither have the money nor the space.
