what if you really like this girl, you want to court her
but your friends doesnt want you to coz they think

well, frankly, i would listen to what the friend says, but if u really like this chick, then ask her out!! have u ever disliked any of ur friends gf/bf's? if so point that out to them and just say, look dude, i really like her, cant u just ease up on the over protective mode? well, frankly i think uv got it lucky if this friend is just sayin that they dont approve of her.....im going out w/ this guy who my bff didnt like and she tells him constantly "if u do anything to her that she doesnt like, or if u have sex w/ her, i swear, i will inflict great pain on u......" and she means castration....lol

I agree with Dark Wing Angel. Personally i smell a little jealousy between your friends. If i were you, I would tell my friends how i feel about this girl, and you all should support me through this relationship (if it goes that far). But if the relationship does not last, than you could tell your friends they were correct, but YOU needed to determine if it would last; this is YOUR life you are controlling, and you must make your own decisions; even though friends could help you with your decisions.
