Title: North Korea

Patriot76 - February 8, 2007 08:56 PM (GMT)
Chinese officials have reported that nuclear talks with north Korea are going well and a Japanese paper yesterday announced it as official (Korea disarming that is). Seeing how uneffective China, Japan, and America have been at the disarmement talks previously and the radical temper and mind of Kim Jong-il...Do you think they are on to something or is it all hot air?

It says that they are willing to talk, and hopefully that will go somewhere.

But nothing was signed yet. Until I see that, I will not trust NK.

I wouldn't even trust them if they had signed something.

Well, I wouldn't really either, but a signed agreement at least gives us some real leverage, as well as increased legitimacy on the international stage.

Well it seems official now. The slow disarmament of North Korea will begin in exchange for US enerngy(can anyone confirm that?). But I agree if this deal holds up to the way it was worked out on paper, it would do wonders for the US's image on a world stage.
