can anyone tell me answer for this one-
economic and social reform at state and municipal[city] level during progressive era.
i know these- initiative, referendum and recall. any thing else????

Don't forget the progressive ammendments: Prohibition and women vote are both social progressive movements, but not really at the state level unless you stretch it. Also, the muckrakers and the exposure and reform of the state businesses is part of it. You can talk about such specifics as Upton Sinclair's The Jungle.

In case you didn't know, the jungl revolutionized the meat packing industry with horrifying details of what went on in the factories (rat poison in the meat is an example).

Also, although prohibition was a country wide ammendment, individual cities and states increased the number of illegal saloons at that time (ironic, no). But once again, I cannot name specific state reforms as much as nationwide, try using muckraker info.
