Title: Anti patriotic media
Description: and movies, and comics, and tv....

Patriot76 - March 7, 2007 09:18 PM (GMT)
Today on the news they briefly brought up the death of the comic hero Captain America in a time when , according to the original creator, he is needed "more than ever now." But this isn't the only example. When the Superman returns movies came out last summer, it was another blow. Superman used to say he fought for "truth, justice, and the American way." In the movie, he still fights for truth and justice but they took out the American way part, saying such things as "truth, justice, and you know the rest," and "truth, justice, and blah, blah, blah."
Back during and after WWII, the government controlled certain aspects of movie making. Thus the reason for so many patriotic war movies portraying American soldiers as the heroes with trumpets blazing. Now in the media and movies, it seems that patriotism has died out. I don't mean to make my arguement using fictional heroes, but isn't it the best example of the rise of the smear-campaign in media against America.

Come off it - what about Michael Moore and Al Gore in the movie industry, eh? What about the legions of liberal actors who are quick to jump on trendy charity/environmental/anti-war bandwagons, but who still live in opulent luxury in tony Beverly Hills mansions with gourmet chefs, drunken parties and exclusive restaurants while children are starving in Africa? What about the Weinstein brothers, that gang of thugs who have no problem aiming the entire might of their corporation at whatever liberal movements catch their eye regardless of who or what gets in their way?

Please. The unrestrained, hypocrisy of the liberal media elite - and ESPECIALLY those from Hollywood - is suffocating. Don't even start with the sarcastic jabs about liberal media, because it will come right back to you in spades.

I dont disagree that there are liberal movie makers just like there are conservative ones...i just find it rather amusing that this guy think that them removing the "american way" from a quote in a superman movie is somehow un patriotic...these guys arent out to promote our country...they are independent film makers trying to make money on an INTERNATIONAL market meaning they are catering to more than just the american population.

Gore: An Inconvenient Truth is a load of alarmist crock that overstates the dangers of global warming and is known to have factual errors, as well as a good deal of sketchy science. On top of that, the man is a huge hypocrite about his whole "carbon footprint" deal - if he's so serious about stopping the alleged global warming, why doesn't he stop just purchasing offsets and actually take major steps to reduce his consumption of fossil fuels?

Moore: The stunts that this nutjob pulls are absolutely ridiculous. He is known to take comments out of context and cites only evidence in support of his extremist views while ignoring ANY evidence to the contrary (not convinced? Read this.). He trumpets his political agenda every time anyone will give him screen time, and yet still thinks that he is somehow qualified to make a "documentary" that shows clear, fair reasons why I should believe him? Give me a break. He is a complete joke - the only reason his movies make any money is because liberals lap up his drivel simply because of the psychological phenomenon known as "confirmation bias."

That's fair.

FYI...I think that the only reason why they killed off those characters (Superman "died" in the early 90s as well, apparently) was to have a publicity stunt. Nothing to really do with politics or anything, although those are two big American icons
