ilove_JFK - May 12, 2007 01:39 AM (GMT)
how did u mess up on the first essay?

aggro - May 12, 2007 02:51 AM (GMT)
the first essay was

explain the cause and significance of two of the following:

- the paxton boys
- something regulation
-shay's rebellion
- whiskey rebellion

other option was

Explain how the second great awakening influenced two of the following:

- ???
- temperance
- the cult of domestically
- utopian communities

took the first one, ill say how i messed up in pm, i don't want the college board to be reading and "invalidate" my score. >_>

i thought the dbq was kinda random, my teacher totally skipped over that topic.

edit:

second essay:

option 1

explain how theodore roosevelt changed the federal government on 2 topics:

- trusts
- labor
- ???
- ???

option 2

compare 2 of the following presidents

- fdr
- reagen
- nixon
- carter (?)

dbq was

analyze how technology, government policies, and the economy impact agriculture during 1850 - 1900 (?).

maybe someone can clarify :P

Yeah the other T.R choices were "conservation" and "foriegn relations" i believe

Second option didn't include carter, it was LBJ

the main essay was actually during the 1865-1900 time period

^_^

But what do I know >_>

Hey so.. just too the test friday, it is sunday, 48 hours after the required security time....

That being said, on the DBQ, which asked in what ways was Agriculture changed through technology, government, and and economics, I basically described things such as the invention of the cotton gin, the railroad, the steam ship, rising taxes, economic depression, and some other things I cant remember.

For the two FRQ's, I chose the ones about comparing the Shays rebellion and the whiskey rebellion. I think I majorly lost points on the rebellion ones because I idiotically confused Bakers Rebellion for Shays.... erg...

On the Roosevelt FRQ I basically owned it because I had to do a project about Roosevelt only a month prior to the exam! What luck huh?? I discussed the issues of trusts and foreign relations. I talked about trust busting, the sherman anti trust act, spanish war, corrallery to the monroe docterine, panama canal, the caribean.. stuff like that...

Hope that was detailed...

to the last guy, that's scary because I did the exact same things. I had to pick the first one on Part B because I forgot what 2nd great awakening was. I knew (or thought I knew) what shays' rebellion was, so I just went with it and wrote the little I know about whiskey rebellion. turned out by the end of the essay I was satisfied with what I wrote, even including it established credibility for the young government, especially washington, for the significance part. I thought I OWNED the shays part, and I'm at home looking in my review book for whiskey rebellion to make sure I had it right, and I decide to see what else I could've written for Shays. Then I realized I had it all wrong. I think what I meant was Bacons, I thought it was like the rebellion of indentured servants. So I like got a three on that probably.
But the TR essay I actually did own. We had just done a debate that week in my APUS/AP Lang Team class and my topic was TR's imperialism, so I absolutely owned the foreign affairs part. I knew enough about his anti-trust policy and even jammed in some conservationism.
Weird...
