Title: Iraqi PM tells us he doesn't need us.
Description: I officially am saying it: let's get out

Ok, the only reason why I wanted to remain in Iraq before was because it was our responsibility. The Iraqi government, as a sovereign nation, asked us for help in maintaining stability post-Saddam era that we ended. It was our responsibility. Now that Nouri Al-Maliki has declared that he could stabilize the government without us, I say go ahead see you later! Frankly, I don't give a crap about the Iraqi people at all. If they want to all kill themselves let them. He has OFFICIALLY taken responsibility off of OUR front and made it completely theirs. We are dealing with a soveriegn country here. He said he no longer needs us. Good. Let's get out while we can. If every Muslim wants to kill themselves, good. One less problem for us.

While I agree this gives us a much needed out from the war, can you honestly believe that a country that has missed every government deadline we set is ready to ake over it's own security 100%? I believe at this stage, we should focus most of the military on training of iraqi troops and securing these training facilities. Like congress asked we should then be able to pull out by spring 08.

If we leave Iraq now, it will slowly become another terrorist breeding ground and a government for hire. Wew need to leave a strong Iraq there to help counter the imenent threat of Iran in the future.

I agree with, leaving a strong Iraq will definitely help in the long run. Think that if we were to leave Iraq now, the new government is just a baby and not ready stand on its own two feet, and bullies, who are the terrorist, can use the bloody country as a training ground for fresh recruits. This will train terrorist cell groups with live action training not like the ones we have back here at home where it is just dummy training. If the terrorist can get their hands on live fire training then that will be dangerous. I know that I just probably regurgitated what both of you just said, but you guys seem to know better than some of my friends.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone remember when Harry Reid said that the surge wasn't working?

Yeah, about that.
