Hello All,
First of all thanks in advance for any help.
I have one question that I am stuck on. It will be easy I'm sure but to me I am having a hard time forming an opinion.
The question:
As the seventeeth wore on, regional differences continued to crystalize most notably.
a. the use of indentured servants
b. loyalty to england
c. the continued rigidity of Puritanism
d. the importance of slave labor in the south
I have reviewed chapters 1-4 several times. I can see where several answers seem correct.
a. it seems indentured servants were mainly in the northern and middle colonies.
c. Purtanism was mainly in the northern colonies
d. slave labor was more heavily used in the south but was also in the north.
I am having trouble finding the "right" answer.
Opinions?
Thanks
Scott
Hmm...as the 17th wore on...Well N.E. was by far the most Patriotic of the regions, and the South was definitely the most Loyalist.
I think that yes, you can find possible arguments for all of the answers, but it seems to me that B and D are probably the most likely answers.
For B, I'd say that regional differences and how the American Revolution played out are fairly obvious. For D, the great divide between slave states and free states was one of the great defining issues in the development of the American country; it had cultural and political ramifications that can still be felt even today.
