"Between 1783 and 1800 the new government of the United States faced the same political, economic, and constitutional issues that troubled the British government's relations with the colonies prior to the War for Independence." Assess the validity of this generalization.
Um, I'm not going to just hand out answers if all you're going to do is throw your essay question out. Is there a specific part you're having trouble with?
In general, it shouldn't be too difficult - just think about why the British were having trouble with the colonists, and see how it compares to what the new American government had to go through in the time period immediately afterward (stuff like representation, taxation, etc.).
Ok good...I was just wanted to make sure I made the correct connections between the two. I was going to focus my essay on taxation and representation. The degree of the two similarities just threw me off. Thanks for the reply.
No problem. I can see why it might have been slightly confusing. :)
