im only asking for an opinion about who shouldve won the revolutionary war because me and my friends really disagree.
personally i think the american colonies shouldve won the war because they had three european powers by their side (french, spain, & dutch) compared to the british who only had certain american indian tribes plus other small people.
so tell me, what do you think?
thanks mucho.

If Britain had put its full attention on crushing the colonists, they probably would have lost. But, as I recall, Britain had other things on its mind at the time, and so it didn't.
I'm certainly glad we won, though :) .

Orborde is correct - the Brits never really concentrated their full force on us, or we would have lost really hard. The amount of power that the Spanish and Dutch were capable of projecting to support the colonies was laughable compared to the full weight of the British Empire, which never hit us with anything close to their full strength due to the tensions with France. The French help was at least meaningful, but it was a much more complicated set of reasons that led to British to call it quits.
On top of that, if you look at the numbers, the colonial forces were absolutely pitiful compared to the professional British troops that opposed them. They were poorly equipped, fewer in number and lost more battles than they won. On the other hand, they were fighting on their home turf (well, the small percentage of the population that cared enough to fight, anyway), they were fighting for their homes and they were fighting for their freedom. A large percentage of British forces were actually foreign mercenaries that couldn't care less about the land, so the morale factor was clearly on the side of the Americans.
Either way, I also would like to register my approval that we won. :)

Also, while the British could have won militarily, the colonists simply had to continue to disobey British mandate, and that's all it takes to be independent. Meanwhile, the British had to get the colonists to submit to a foreign power. That tends to be very difficult in the face of widespread rebellion.

I think the Birtish should have won the revolutinary war beacause:
-they had the best army in the world.
-they had the best navy in the world.
-they had the best officers in the world.
-thier economy was 100x better then the american colonies.
and Britain losing to the AMerican colonies is pretty pitiful and outrages.
They reason britain lost was beacuse of lazy generals  *cough* Howe *cough*, lack of communication, no leadership.
AMerican won cause of WASHINTON!
