This morning, Sadma's half brother and head of the old Iraqi court were exectuted by hanging. So Let's review, Sadam, his brother, his two sons, and head of a corrupt court system have all been killed along with most heads of the original Taliban in Iraq. So what are your opinions on this? Can you beleive some people are still saying "America has done nothing in Iraq"?
The Taliban had nothing to do with Iraq. Check your facts!
The jury is certainly still out on Iraq. As much as we'd like to believe that clear progress is being made, a lot of people are still dying over there in sectarian violence; I don't think it's at all clear yet that the American involvement has been a success. It might yet be; I hope it is. But it still isn't the time to claim "Mission Accomplished".
My parents are shiia and could care less about the executions, really. I say that they deserved it. However, Patriot, do consider one thing: Iraq's government, not America's, killed them. Chances are, I would think, that if they had been handed to us there would have been some huge "legal battle" and seeing if they really deserved the death penalty. It is unfortunate, I know, and both you and I would most likely hate for these people to even deserve a fair trial, but I would bet my money that in the U.S. that is how it would go down.
And America has done alot for Iraq. The American media just doesn't show it all. Sure, there is turmoil, but in most muslim countries there is. In Bahrain, for example, the shiias and sunnis fight all the time. Maybe there arent as many deaths, but no matter what the US does, they will not stop the fighting. The best they can do is ensure that the government of Iraq does not collapse because of the violence, which they are trying to do and which I think is a good idea.

Your right, I would hate for that to happen. That's like when we first captured Sadam, I was wishing we would turn him over to the Iraqi government so he would be executed. America is fair, but liberals a kind. That's where the legal battle would have erupted.
