I was reading a thread about the new comic, newuniversal, on a comic book message board yesterday and a poster mentioned how the characters looked a lot like real actors including Josh Holloway and Johnny Depp. Of course I had to investigate. :) (I should point out that, technically, the artists aren't supposed to do that so this is really just an amazing coincidence. ;))

Anyway, I checked out newuniversal #1 today and it's really good and it's pretty clear who's inspiring some of the characters. Strangely enough the character, Kenneth, who looks so much like Josh ends up in a jail cell with a grieving man pointing a gun at his head. :lol:

You can check out some of the pages from #1 here (it says they're the first 8 pages, but they're not) and there's a good review of the first issue here. The story's about a world mostly like our own but during an unexplained event the skies turn white and afterwords some people develope strange powers. If you like the new tv show Heroes, you'll probably like this. The series has a T+ rating which I assume is the equivalent of an R movie rating. It is pretty violent.

It's not exactly a Skate fix, but it's rather cool. :)
