Title: Introductions
Description: Part Two

Doghouse - March 12, 2007 01:51 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the Warhammer 30,000 Forums.

I'm Doghouse, I'm based in the UK and I am the creator and board admin of this site.
I have been wargaming for roughly around twenty years or so and hope to be able to share some of my experience gained during that time.
Some of you might be familiar with my models from other forums and I hope to see a lot of new faces as well as seasoned veterans and friends I've already met through the wargaming hobby.
I've created this board mainly because of my un-natural passion for all things Pre-Heresy and the Horus Heresy itself.
Currently I'm working on a Pre-Heresy Night Lords Legion and being a self confessed converterholic hope to take a stab at creating my own Renegade Human Empire to oppose them.
Have fun on the forums and if you have any questions please feel free to PM me any time.

Doghouse :)

SpacedTG - March 21, 2007 03:30 AM (GMT)
Since this is the members thread, allow me to say hello.

I post on Waryammer (not in ages) and on B&C as Thunder_god, so I'm not exactly a noob to the 40k, erm, 30k scene.

My passion is Space Wolves, and about 3 years ago, gave a batch a try using the chaos worriors, and they have been evolving. Currently, I'm out of parts, but once I get a new set of warriors, expect some pics to follow.

Also, I'm cooking up a way to convert jet n=bikes, and once I finalize the steps, I will share them here as well.

Till then.

Spaced out.

Stryker - March 21, 2007 10:31 AM (GMT)
I thought I'd follow suit with a belated introduction. :D

I've been into 40k for 14 years now, and I've decided to try something a little different, hence why I'm here.

As you can guess from the avatar, I'm doing a small contingent of the seventh Legion, the Imperial Fists. Their background will be set during the beginning of the Siege of Terra itself, having been equipped with a number of the brand new Mk.7 armour suits. I will be looking to do a variety of armour types spreading them out among the squads. I shall post some of my tester minis shortly.

Doghouse - March 25, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)
Hey bud!

Great to see you on the 30k board mate! :)

eisenhorn - March 26, 2007 06:20 PM (GMT)
I'm Will (Eisenhorn from just about every forum)
I started out with a large Ultra Force until I read the backstory of the Heresy.
Now that all I do Pre-Heresy forces

Kradle - April 1, 2007 01:42 AM (GMT)
I'm Kradle, based in the wonderful land of Oz and although my armies thus far have all been 41st millenium the Heresy has always interested me.

Great site you've got here and hopefully I'll get some Heresy-era Orks started soon. Human renegades also sounds tempting.

Peace

Doghouse - April 1, 2007 12:01 PM (GMT)
Glad to have you both onboard! :)

bunnylord - April 2, 2007 01:45 PM (GMT)
hey, Im Patch, AKA Bunny Lord, I'm 14, I have been playing 40k for 3 years, I work in a model shop (third off everything other than online only, and cheap games day tickets) I have a normal Iron warriors force (500pts) 1000 points of Alpha Leigon (not pre heresy) the extent of my pre heresy goes to converting a bike into a jet bike, and a unit of Luna Wolves with a chaplain, I also play night goblins (750) and by the end of this week 750 poits of death wing....

I like pre heresy for the modelling and the fluff. I run a general G.W forum (we where originaly creature feature, but no one likes that....) http://bunnywars.proboards77.com/index.cgi

Me and a friend Run a small 'pocket money business' where I convert and he paints, I also made a game which I run during holidays at my job which uses the 40k rules base on tanks, but we make it into a WW2 tank warfare game (called Tanks crucial warfare, you can find the rules on bunny war)

man I spoke too much......

Doghouse - April 2, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)
Welcome aboard bunnylord. :)

Thocan - April 3, 2007 02:13 AM (GMT)
Hey!

I'm Chuck, 16 and living in New Jersey. Any of you from around here give me a PM, try to get a game in some time. Been playing 40k for around a year and a half, playing Dark Angels, and fantasy for a few months with Wood Elves.

The fluff of the game has always been my favorite part, even beyond painting, modeling, and hell, even playing. Saw the link to the forum on bolter and chainsword, saw the gothic marine tutorial, and was sold. Either tonight, or tomorrow morning, I'm placeing an order for the bits I will need for my first 5-10 pre heresy thousand sons. Thank god for my recent paycheck or theres no way in hell i could do this.

See ya on the forums!
Chuck

centurion - April 3, 2007 05:31 AM (GMT)
Hi,
I'm centurion and I hail from Alaska. I mostly collect and rarely play epic. My 1st game was Space Marine and since then I've had an unhealthy obsession with the Horus Hersy which grew worse with the release of the card game and art books. I feel the era is best played and displayed with mass armies and legions of titans. :D

CDR Grendelwulf - April 4, 2007 12:43 PM (GMT)
Hello Battle-Brethren,

When I was growing up I very quickly took an interest in art, and being (a) a guy and (b ) interested in all things fantasy, horror & sci-fi, my elementary school artwork tended to feature lots of zombie-driven tanks and starfighters being shot down in flames. Imagine my pleasure when I discovered models & wargames! Woo-hoo!!

It's been a long, strange road for me but from time to time I always get to come back to 40K. These preheresy forums provide fodder for some interesting new ideas & concepts. Too bad GW hasn't done something like this long ago.

Be seeing you!

Ciao,
CDR Grendelwulf

Constantin Valdor - April 4, 2007 02:00 PM (GMT)
nice to see a few new faces. Welcome :P

HiredSword - April 4, 2007 07:02 PM (GMT)
hey all, I'm Tom and my warhammer addiction all started about 6 years ago...

Nowadays I'm more into reading into the fluff and modelling when I can. It's a slow progress and it's not helped by my laziness! I prefer to convert each model which is why I prefer smaller games like Mordheim where it's cheaper and quicker to build a force and you can make your own backstory.

Doghouse - April 4, 2007 07:16 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the board guys!
Great to see new faces and fellow pre-heresy fans here on the boards. :)

CyberMurph - April 6, 2007 12:01 AM (GMT)
Heya! I'm Murph and I live in NYC. I am new to 40k, but have played DoW and a bunch of historical miniature games. I got into 40k because of the "fluff". Specifically the Horus Heresy books and DoW computer game.

Lupercal!

Doghouse - April 6, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the board Murph. :)

Thrace - April 9, 2007 12:10 AM (GMT)
Hey fellow crazy people. My name is Snorre and I'm from Oslo, Norway. Been playing 40K for several years now and have a Necron force, a full Tau cadre, an entire Imperial Guard regiment and a hefty amount of Night Lords.

I've been into the background of 40K for the last year, but I've been coming back to painting and gaming recently. I am the local history nut when it comes to 40K, especially the Heresy.

Anyway, hope to have some fun on this forum. See you all around.

Doghouse - April 9, 2007 10:36 AM (GMT)
Excellent, welcome to the 30k forums. :)

Captain Ardias - April 14, 2007 09:28 PM (GMT)
Greetings brother marines. My name is Lars and I'm from Tromsų, Norway. I have played 40k for 6 years now. I have a ultramarines army, a dark angels army, a small necron force, an eldar army and throne knows how many plans for new ones.
And I can say that I have quite a lot of knowledge on the 40k fluff (not very on the oldest stuff though). Also I like the pre-heresy time better than the current 40k age, the 31st millenium is just cooler.
And just for the record my here are some of my other forum identities: Warseer-Captain Ardias, Pre Heresy forum-Captain Tarik Torgaddon.

Btw. great to see another norseman on the forum :D

Doghouse - April 14, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
Hi Lars

Welcome aboard. You're definately right, the 30k universe has a lot more to offer than most people seem to think. :)

Brother Galfridus - April 15, 2007 11:30 AM (GMT)
Hi there I'm Galfridus :D

I'm officially an Orkaholic, aswell as being addicted to most other armies.

I'm into preheresy modelling from a Chaos point of view, but more heresy era.

Just starting a LATD force for a change fo pace.

Doghouse - April 15, 2007 02:12 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the site! Great to see a Ork player on board. :)

Psychologic - April 15, 2007 02:32 PM (GMT)
Hey all,

My name's Robert. I'm a Dutch 40k player with several armies. None are really far created... Got loads of ideas, but no money to my name yet. I've got a large bunch of IG, a squad of SoB with Celestine, and 8 unfinished Chaos Space Marines. Started with IG four years ago, and I still think they're cool. Of course, I field them with a SoB/Witch Hunter detachment.

I want to start a 30k IG army, seeing as they got my first attention as potential army. Anyone got any background on the IG back in the 30th millennium?

Thanks in advance,
Psy

Doghouse - April 15, 2007 02:42 PM (GMT)
Hi Robert! Welcome to the 30k fourms.

Here's a link to some suggestions for creating an Imperial Army force in 30k that might be of some use based on existing background material.

I'm Horus_Magnus. I love DoW and am a Necronaholic.

Dawn of the Dogs - April 30, 2007 01:40 PM (GMT)
Hi, guess i should introduce myself here. i go by Dawn of the Dogs on Warseer and B&C, but just Dog or Doggeh would suffice here.

really got the urge to do a pre-heresy style army after reading the HH series. have plans on making a pre Mortarion Death Guard army. ie. Dusk Raiders.

Doghouse - April 30, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the site guys. Great to have you on board. :)

Typhon - April 30, 2007 05:01 PM (GMT)
hey guys,

thought ide say my bit, im Terminator Tomatron on the B&C and Gonariblus on DG.org, i stumbled on this site after seeing the link in doghouse' sig. Glad i did! great job on a great looking site doghouse!

you will probably get sick of me as i frequent the forums quite a bit, again great job!

Cotidie - April 30, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Although i've been posting, should probably introduce myself! Manners and all that haha

I've been playing WH40K since *Ponders* for about 8 years on and off...most on tho!!!

Big fan of SM and CSM...pretty much game exclusively with my heavily converted 13th Co. Space Wolves, although in my time i've collected everything from the old-school metal Necrons to themed jetbike only Eldar.

Huge fan of Black Library work, which has got me hooked on Pre-Heresy World Eaters!!!

Like most people here probably, I stumbled upon the boards through Doghouse's sig on B&C or sumit.

Cheers!!

OrlyggJafnakol - May 2, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
Hello, OrlyggJafnakol here, found this forum through Warseer. Great site and a fantastic idea, thanks Doghouse for founding this!

I have had long aspirations to doing a pre-heresy army, well before the artbooks and the novels, but have never even got close to starting the first model. I just get distracted by other projects... I have had a thought, my plan is to make a heresy era combat squad for each of the 18 known legions... It will be awhile until I start work, so I am just going to lap up the talent and the ideas of other members of this forum.

zeller - May 3, 2007 04:39 PM (GMT)
Hey, I'm zeller...saw this link on the Bolter and Chain Sword and thought it sound cool...which it is. lol :D

Doghouse - May 4, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the forums guys! :)

Warwolt - May 6, 2007 11:11 PM (GMT)
As soon as I saw "Warhammer 30,000" in a link at warseer I clicked instantly, register an hour later and made my second post now. Dang, I think you just got yourself the ork fluff on its way to get written :o
How fun Warwolt shall have! mwahahah!
