Title: The fate of Garro

MutantMaggot - October 31, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
This is probably in the wrong forum, but as the Horus Heresy forum is locked I've posted it here.

What happened to Garro? I know the end of Flight of the Eisenstein points to him forming the Inquisition, but what really happened, in your opinion? It may be a bit of a mystery, but what was the final outcome?

EDIT: The forums now have a total of 1,000 posts. From here the only direction is upwards ...

Yes it is in the wrong forum, but i cant move it to the other discussion thread. But any way, the books imply that he will become the first inquisitor but apart from that i dont know. Sorry.

you know I considered the inquisitor link but I went with the idea that they became the first grey knights.

1 Right timeframe for thier founding, according to thier fluff they were ordered into existance by the Emperor himself.
2 The Grey Knights have a geneseed that is unique among the current Astartes.
3 Garro and his men, along with the half-heard proved not only thier loyalty but that they could resist the influence of chaos as well.

makes sense to me

To be honest, the whole "Garro starts the Inquistition" shtick just screams shitty cop out to me, like a lot of what gets pumped out by the Black Library. I prefere the 3 possible paths of garro from the DG IA article

1) at the end of the heresy he is so sickened by how far his brothers have fallen he renouces arms and joins the apothecriate and spends the rest of his days hopelessly searching for a cure to the plagues of Nurgle.

2) he and the rest of the Eisenstien 70 take up the colours and heraldry of the original Death Guard and move in covert against Mortarion, Nurgle and the traitor Death Guard fighting a secret war to this very day.

3) even he cannot resist the call that has taken his legion, he turns to chaos and elevates to deamonhood leading his warband in and out of the eye.
