Hi Everybody

Iīve been working on building up an Adeptus Custodes Army for about 5 month now (there were a lot of bitz to gather... <_< )

Iīm able to use either Space Marines or Daemonhunters Codexes.


So here are the (bad) pics of the work in progress

Itīs the Ronin miniatures figures, though Iīm quite happy with the paintjob I always found him too short....

These last ones are from Velardīs but I must say Iīm not so happy about them, they just donīt fit in with the rest , Iīm gonna have to sell them. ( and convert new ones....)

I used every Mk1 to 5 pewter figure I had, plus some plastic ones to complete.I Know itīs not really accurate but I wanted to use my oldies.

Very nice! Best Custodes army ive seen makes me want to start one, in fact i will! How did you do the pale gold its great?

Starting with a first coat of shining gold
then brown ink, a drybrush of shining gold again, then a mix of 50/50 shining gold/mithril silver and pure mithril silver on the edges.
I can seem long but itīs not that long

If you want to build an army of Custodes, I can provide you a list of the bits I used.

Hereīs thelisting of parts i used

Custodes knights:

squad of 7

40k

4 to 6 chaos marines heads with plumet
2 to 4 Chaos and imperial marines legs
7 Chaos and imperial (+black templars) marines torsos
14 Chaos and imperial arms 7 bolters.
7 Chaos marine backpacks
4 Dark Angels véhicules purity seals
6 Imperial marines purity seals
4 imperial marines winged skull icons from the command squad box
3 to 5 Imperial marine commander roman loin cloth and cape
3 to 5 Dark Angels veteran legs (you' ll have to remove the back torso)

Warhammer Batlle

14 Chaos warriors hands
7 High Elves spearmen winged icon
8 High Elves spearmen spears ( can be replaced with simple copper rods)
1 to 2 High Elves archers cape
1 Empire general cape
5 High Elves silver helms helmets
2 high elves chariot rider helmets
1 high elves archer batlle standard arm and standard

you can chamge the heads any way you like, I also used bretonnian bare heads and imperial marines bare heads. fo r the shoulder pads I used different kind of chaos and im perial marines pads plus old 3rd edition battle chaos warriors pads.

Custodes terminators:

squad of 5

40k

1 Terminator squad box
2 Black templars helmets
5 aquilla rhino icon
10 Ork shoulder pads
10 Imperial marine shoulder pads
3 commander roman loin cloth
5 Imperial Terminator thunderhammer arms
5 imperial marine aquila top standard from the devastor box i think ( I kept the aquilas and put them on the belt)

Warhammer Batlle

2 Chaos warriors helmets
5 High Elves Silver Helms spears.
5 Ogre swords
10 Bretonnian knights small shields (for the knees)

I also used guitar strings for somme additionnal wiring ad green stuff to modify some heads.
