Title: Black Widows Prototype WIP Pics
Description: Female Space Marines

Once again the majority of the credit for this fine model goes to Doghouse. The two of us worked together via email back and forth to get the torso sculpted. Female Power Armor is really hard to get just right, but I think we found an excellent balance. Once sculpted, he sent it to me, and then it dissapeared for a month, and just when we thought it was lost in the warp forever, a burnt and torn package appeared on his doorstep. Apparently, some kids had put some kind of explosive in the mailbox and the package had been blown up. (True Story)

Miraculously, however, it was still intact, the little greenstuff torso stuck in a corner of the remaining half of the bubble wrap envelope, which Doghouse then sent to me in a new envelope, making the journey across the Atlantic and finally getting to me, which tells me that not only does this model have two wounds, but also apparently, an invulnerable save.

The arms and Backpack are just blue-tacked on at this point, but I'm extremely pleased with the results. Enjoy.

For anyone who didn't get to see it before, here's the Female Terminator Prototype as well. Having both Female Power Armor and Female Terminator Armor in the same army list is not only wickedly cool, but creates a continuity of equipment and style. You may notice that I intentionally mimicked some of the Terminator's attributes, like the double-tabbard and thigh-plates.

Welcome to the Boards mate!

Excellent army concept and the addition of the tabbards to the marine makes all the difference!

hehehehe, no sooner do I open this page than my itunes skips to 'pretty woman', coincidence?

Anyway, those are some really nicely sculpted models, could we see another angle of the sword?

Got some update pics for everybody. :) I took the chapter badge to a much higher level, with custom sculpted shoulder pads. The spiderweb designs are copied off the spiderwebs in the tree behind my house. I test-fitted the wood elf heads onto the power armor marine, and realized, to my horror, that the head is waay too small. So, unfortunately, I'll have to use regular marine helmets, but maybe I can jazz them up a bit with some pony-tail style top-knots or something like that.

Like before, everything is just blue-tacked together at this point. :)

Okay, I need everyone's help with something. I blue-tacked up some options for the head, and I need everyone's help deciding which way to go.

First, let's look at the body without a head top cleanse the palete:

Okay, our first option is to keep the helmets, but add something to them, like some hair:

Our next option is to use the wood elf heads, even though they are a little small:

And our third option is to use another kind of helmet altogether, something like this:

Let me know what you guys think.

Excellent GS work on the shoulder pads! I really like the BW theme and the web work is inspired.
I'd definately go with the Wood Elf heads to make them more femine and sink them slightly into the armour so that it looks like the armour is built up around the warrior inside rather than her having a long neck.
The last helmet might work if you cut the ear pieces off the standard marine lid and added them to the sides of the helmet you've chosen.

how did you do the jewels on the termie thigh guards. They look great any chance of a tutorial

I kinda like the pony tail and helmet...although I wouldn't have figured using an actual fantasy pony's tail! A bit large, but effective...

I think you might be better served to use some of the elvish heads and greenstuff some braids/tails. Your GS is great to see as it is.

Ciao,

I'm probably wrong...but wasn't there something about how the Astartes have to be male because of something in the gene-seed? I could be wrong like i said...nm tho! the models are fantastic, really really like the concept and web-age!!!

Saw some of these images on warseer. Very impressive. The web like design on the shoulder pads is excellent. I am not so worried about the fluff side of things, I just enjoy seeing good models.
