What about pre heresy necrons  , I mean most of the unit type they have today weren’t around fro their previous edition and that was, what? 2-3 centuries ago fluff wise so what about 10.000 years they might even have had units that don’t exist today :ph43r: , or a c tan that was destroyed by the emperor B) or something what do you guys think?

sounds intresting, i never really thought about necrons pre-heresy :)

Fluffwise they were hybernating then, until the galaxy reached a sufficient population for them to harvest again. There probably wouldn't have been any Necrons awake then, other than maybe some guarding tomb worlds.

You could probably get away with a "waking up" army as pre heresy. Dunno how you could convert that, though.

Necrons are probably best played as the mysterious bad guys in wh30k era games. I've posted a few ideas that can found in the following link that may give you some ideas. :)

Pre-Heresy Necrons Suggestions

I like the Emperor defeating a C'tan idea though, especially if the Imperials have no idea what they are fighting.

i like the idea of pre heresy crons! you could model them to look like the havent moved it millenia, rusty joints, fungus type groths and what not. even have some emerging from the ground (half in their base) you would have to base them with a desert effect i reckon. try and make some necron type scenery for the battles perhaps. the game DoW: dark crusade would be a good place of reference for that sort of thing

Yeah, I´d think of having them shiney and neato when they first arrive to the imperium. Perhaps the Imperials would belive they are some abbomination from the Dark Age of Technology, and that C'tans are simply daemons?

Anyone read First & Only by Dan Abnett? Well...if you have you'll remember the bit in the Crypt near the end-ish, with the robot-y things...I'm always confused as to whether they're supposed to be (as some of the other posts suggest for Necrons) pre-heresy hangovers from the DAofT, or Necrons...anyway...my idea was that you could use some converted Necrons plastics...probably just weapon swaps for the older types of Necrons to represent that, or any other mechanical race.

The C'tans can easily hold up as some-sorta Demon that's enslaved them and/or killed their human masters...maybe check out the inquisition codex's for some ideas!

I just like the idea of sum really minor Chaos power (check the 2nd/3rd edition codex's for names!) wiping out some community of techno-geeks and making their mechanical offspring worship it as if it was a seriously big hitter in the chaos pantheon!

Maybe a bit tongue in cheek, but the C'Tan's stats would at least reflect that it was a power-fulish god, but nothing at all compared to the Big Four...

:D
