like the description says. what do you think would be the best way to represent obliterators and dreadnoughts in the 31st millinium?

at the moment, im thinking support weapon platforms (rapier laser destroyers and turantulas) to represent obliterators, and robots to represent dreadnoughts.

i know there were robots in existance during the rogue trader era, so i assume that robots could have also been used in pre heresy times.

what do you all think? plausible? or need more thought?

I would use robots for obliterators and just dreds for dreds.

The idea of a static platform for oblits doesn't seem right.

yeah i agree, dreads where still dreads in them days, as for oblitorators perhaps convert the hell out of some necron immortals as they are pretty large robot type things

the rapiers and turantulas (according to 2nd edition fluff) arnt static. rapiers are track mounted and turantulas had anti-grav platforms built in.

as for the dreads, i seems easier to pass off a blood frenzy result as a machine malfunction.

there were dreads during the heresy. and if i gets blood frenzy then say he just got really mad.

oblits are purely post heresy, they are tremies fused to there armour by the powers of the warp so i would say just use some tremie models for oblits

also using necrons with bolters and such would be cool with in imperial forces

actually... oblits arent necessarily 'purely post heresy', no one really knows where the virus came from or how it was created. However it is speculated that the eye of terror had a hand in it somehow.

i reckon that obliterators would best be represented as some sort of Mechanicum construction, like the Kaban machine from the HH artwork book.


as for dreads yes they are available pre heresy
