Title: The Tithe
Rose Meridian - February 27, 2007 05:06 AM (GMT)
Since the curse was placed on the families in 1928, the White Witch ordered the families to return ever ten years on the same exact day at midnight. At the stroke of midnight members of the six families gather at the bridge of Vickery Creek. There, they wait until the figure of a young woman in white appears.
When she appears, they offer her what is called the, “Tithe”. Not much is known about the “Tithe” to the younger generations. All they know is that it takes ten years to gather and is kept in a box that is exactly the same as the others. The boxes are locked up safely.

On this special night, the first who gets to the bridge takes in 10 times more stability over their powers than the other families. So it is a race against each of the families to see who can become more powerful.
So far, it is the Adams/Holt family that has been coming into the lead since their family is twice as large and when they get to the bridge, the members get twice as much as they would individually.
The Ventana family comes in second.
The Tyson Family comes in third
The Douglas family comes in forth
The Braxton comes in last. They are the weakest of the families. Unless they can find some way to step it up, they will soon lose both their powers and their lives.
There is only one rule to the “Tithe”: Do not steal another families’ tithe and keep it the night of the tithe, causing them to lose on purpose. There was a case at one point that this rule had broken. Because of it, the Braxton family was punished further more and the Douglas family was put a head of them.
