Name: Damien Allister Tyson
Nicknames:At one time 'Allie ('
al-ee] was the customary form of referral, the practice was dropped as Damien became older. Those close to him know he prefers his middle name as opposed to his first name. 'Allie' is still somewhat consistent amongst the children in the family. People often think of him as some sort of 'older sister' when referenced as such before meeting him, hence the decline in calling him like so.
Family: Tyson
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Species: Cursed One
Sexual Preference: Unsure, he finds love a vexing sentiment, he'd much rather enjoy the company of close friends, before a lover, despite being a hopeless romantic.
Avatar: Adrien BrodyAppearance:Subtle features surround the well-rounded face, left devoid of a prominent chin, it remains mainly a peak beneath the meek-proportioned mask he's been born with. His lips, small and uncolored, as gentle curves beneath a crest below his nose, eagle like and prominent, its protuberance offsets his features, drawing attention to his face, and the concavity in his eyes. His ears, lobe-less, and well rounded, oft covered by hair so as to dissimulate a smaller size.
Pallid, in a way 'silky', skin, not due to birth, mainly because he's been outside of the sun's presence for a great many years, coloration slowly returning to his body, it may be appreciated as 'peach' accents found on several areas of his body. His eyes are vivid, well-rounded, and cat-like to a certain extent, they are colored a light shade of brown, and are complemented by small 'honey' specks that run from pupil to the edge of the irises.
Cold weather leaves little question as for how one must wear his hair, and a military cut is all but comfortable in the light breeze of fall, and chilling winds of winter. His hair is worn typically at at chin length, straight and unfortunately for him thin, worn in no particular manner, disheveled in very angular motions, it tends to drop towards the left side of his face, covering whatever pallor behind a wall of deep brown, when in the presence of the sun his hair displays copper and auburn gleams hidden amidst the deep brown.
He measures 6'4", and weighs 158 lb, flimsy, and lanky at first sight, with no noticeable muscle growth due to his preference for bulky clothing, an apparent lithe build albeit offset by well-defined muscles without growing out of proportion, the presence of mainly cardiovascular exercise being apparent, endowing him with athletic level stamina, to be able to run, jump and vault whenever required. To a lower degree a swimmer build may be appreciated as hinted by donning an almost 'doll' like skin, pore-less, and by default hairless, rendering him particularly vulnerable to low temperatures, albeit thriving in heat, seeming almost buoyant, and bounding. Any muscle development of note, tends to be situated towards his pectorals, and abdomen.
His usual attire consists of mostly winter clothing, rather his apparel is situated to the more 'colder' times of the year, and thus prefers to wear bulkier, more formal clothing as opposed to the casual wear that people his age should wear when not at work. His selection of clothing articles include informal slacks, usually in dark colors if not black, usually fitted to him, with a flat front so as to avoid the presence of 'bulges', dark socks if not black, black glossy shoes, vests, usually in dark colors though somewhat lighter than his slacks, white buttoned shirts, (either long-sleeved or short sleeved, depending on the occasion), and last but not least a blazer/jacket/overcoat, usually in much darker colors than the rest of his outfit. He is known to wear bonnets at times, though not commonly in the summer.
Personality:To describe Damien's behavior, would be to describe a color to an individual, blind since birth. It remains mostly an idea, ever changing, and subject to the limited perceptions to one who's gained enlightenment of the truth of the world. It would seem appropriate to describe him a 'free-spirit' one that knows (rather believes) that there are no bounds, wherever it applies, and that by acknowledging the morality of an act in question, that you are limiting yourself in what you CAN do. 'Just because I don't very much feel like doing something, means I'm incapable of doing it' are words often expressed by him. He finds the rules of men to be trifle, and unnecessary, and understands that the world and its events exist as naturally occurring phenomena within the natural anarchic state the universe exists as; considering those who follow the rules, as pawns of their own little game, at the mercy of a veiled figure of authority, which in its entirety is merely a facet of themselves reflected, if not manifested upon those who dictate sacrilegious laws, and abide by them.
Quick-witted, and sharp-tonged, he spares not the listener that dare provoke him, often defeating his opponent with the spoken word, at least in his eyes, shortly before his tirade ends, abruptly by the presence of a brandished knife, or on rare occasions, the presence of a sortilege. An opportunist by nature, he will seize any momentum in his favor, to propel events accordingly, so as to evoke the effect in question he wishes to observe. Well-mannered, he is known to court others with his 'tongue', while a the same time being a blunt individual with a 'cut to the chase' approach when dealing with people on certain affairs. Not easy to anger, you'd have more luck trying to best him in combat, than to have him make the first move in a battle of taunts.
He believes that a person can be attributed more than a single 'alignment' seeing how humanity has been endowed with the gift of free will, whether or not they choose to abide by the rules, dos not veil the fact that they were born with the capacity to choose from birth. A rule he's always lived by is as follows: "Those who cannot obey themselves, deserve to be commanded."
All of the aforementioned traits, act as a veil to hide an individual with a personality only fittingly described as 'gravitas' in the Latin tongue, the reason for such is for you to find out.
Headstrong, and willful, and is oft not dissuaded by any to attempt anything he wishes, albeit placing himself in peril, though at the same time making sure his actions affect only himself. Deeply intuitive, he often finds solving problems in the most creative of ways to be an oddly satisfying pastime, thinking of each challenge as a way to hone his abilities, and perhaps discover more about himself. A quick-thinker, most solutions come to him in mere glimpses when placed in a compromising position, whether or not the means to attain that particular end appeal to the morality of the act in question are things never up for debate.
He's obstinate, often pursuing his goals until achieving completion at the expense of everything else, though never everyone else. He's light-hearted and easily broken by emotions, a hopeless romantic, bohemian enslaved by his own delirium, he believes emotions to be strong drivers for the acts that precede human nature.
Very eloquent, and well-versed in words, one would do well not to address him lest that one wish to waste his existence with the muttering, and phrasing of words. Demian's most physical representation of this eclectic behavior being the formal critique of others, specifically their ideologies, and expressed thoughts, twisting their words and making an elaborate mockery of what they deem to be pure, and righteous, often ridiculing their righteous opinions, call it an odd hobby of his.
Amongst his pet-peeves, Damien is rather intolerant of those who must lie to reach their objectives, those who hide behind collectives, and those who're more afraid to jump in stead of falling. He dismisses dispassionate people as though inhuman. He hates being constrained by rules and time, and despite having a 'cut to the chase' approach would much rather listen to the belligerent speech of a bigot, as opposed to the bluntness in another person's words. He considers the family feud to be petty, if not entirely frivolous. Evidenced by being constantly at discussion with his parents, this habit died along with his Father.
Being able to focus on all aspects of a problem, endows him with impartial judgment of situations, considering said aspects so as to come up with the most effective means by which to resolve the issue at hand, regardless of the morality of the act, hence his outlook on life, tends to be twisted at best, supporting such things as inhumane punishments, for acts equally inhumane. Perhaps misinterpreted as a sadist, he is only abiding by the concept of order and equivalent exchange, and yet his anarchic philosophy requires him to bane such teachings of order, and embrace the natural order of things, in a way becoming what is assumed to be the antithesis to both ideological currents.
An addendum of note he is a particularly well-aligned Stoic, he'll show no pain, or remorse when in the presence of others, even if great suffering is placed upon himself. Another thing of note, his personality may be summed up as a strange man, with no regard for his life, whatsoever.
Powers: Pyrokinesis: The manipulation of fire, Damien possesses veritable control over this aspect of his powers, allowing him to shape flames to intermediate and (should time allow) complex constructs, incorporating somatic components to his manifestations seems to give him greater focus, he believes it to be some sort of 'dance' and that he may further induct the path of the flame through subtle manipulation as opposed to the full brunt of its force. Controlling flames comes as a natural extension of Damien's powers and though somewhat taxing on the mind, allows him to prolong this interaction. His current threshold allows him to maintain control for over 3 hours, before losing focus and perhaps sienging something nearby. Along with the after-effects of losing control, the immediate and obvious is the burning of something unintentionally, it is estimated that he could burn himself should he be within proximity to his target.
Pyrogenesis: To be able to engender flames. Damien is not overly fond of this power, and has some difficulty in starting fires. It generally takes him a few minutes to accumulate the necessary focus to create said flames, the time varies depending on the amount of flames he wishes to bring into existence. He has been able to blanket objects on sight, no bigger than an 'armoire' in flames. Though not in succession. This power is generally used with the luminescence power, as creating small, temporary constructs in rapid succession is generally faster than creating a conglomerate by which to engulf something in flames. His current level of power allows him to create flames on any object smaller than say.... an 'armoire' at a range no greater than 30 ft. The immediate drawback is accidentally conjuring flames on himself, or something near him.
Luminescence: Most sources of heat are also sources of light, Damien learned of this before his first (and final) attempt at using the Transformation power. By generating selective amounts of energy, Damien can effectively coat himself in a subtle form of radiation, casting light at the intensity that he wishes at a radius of 30 feet, those near him will also experiment warmth emanating from his figure. Its other effects allow Damien to create other Photon related effects, like strobe lights, streamers, and the generation of sparks. Giving his destructive powers some creative use as pyrotechnic effects. His pyrotechnics are no safer than the regular ones, and thus suffers from about the same margin of danger. Should he lose control whilst manifesting light, he may accidentally generate hazardous amounts of radiation, and begin to suffer the events of radiation poisoning.
And to a lesser extent:
Transformation [fire]: He knows the processes by which to attain said state, but he lacks the confidence, and raw power to do so. He believes it to be too dangerous to attempt the transformation and is being kept on hold for the time being. He sees no necessity to attempt the transformation at the time.

Occupation: Majored in Philosophy, and through a student exchange program managed to get a Master's Degree in Philosophy (only until publishing a sumptuous Thesis). He teaches Philosophy at the local College, part of his time is spent as a translator, though technically a side job, he considers it to be more of a hobby, with the added benefit of payment.
Extra: He's fluent in most Romance tongues as well as German. Part of his studies in Cambridge required him to learn Greco-Latin Etymologies. He has a soft spot for kittens, though being terribly allergic to their fur.
Parents: Cain Tyson, and Agneta Bristow
Siblings: He's an only child
Other Members: Pretty much the rest of the 'Tyson' family. (I think there is only one other member who's a 'Tyson')
History: Damien was born, like any other human, to a caring family in Roswell, Georga, somewhat, leading a relatively normal life as is expected of an upper-middle class family in a prominent housing sector. With no significant events marking his life, except for a deformity in one of his eyes, where his right eye's pupil was slightly more dilated than his left eye’s, the deformity was only minimal and mostly overlooked by others, Damien grew up to be a healthy baby in the care of two loving parents, he grew up in a relatively normal environment.
Upon reaching the first year of age, Damien had already pronounced his first words, oddly 'sun' and 'moon' as opposed to the somewhat more common 'daddy', and 'mommy', his parents dismissed the event, and continued to raise the child as they had, Damien soon came to express his first thoughts, as he attained the ability of speech much faster than a child should have, giving him a small aspect of maturity as opposed to other children his age. At the age of 2 was he able to express himself entirely, in a lexicon that was astounding for a two year-old, their parents could not believe what they'd heard, and seen, they believed their son to be 'gifted' and sought the council of a doctor, with whom they were well acquainted.
This man would oversee Damien's growth in later years, when he'd mastered essentials required for such a transaction. The man's name was Cain Argyle, a rather passionate young man, who was studying a medicine major at the time Damien had been entrusted to him at a later age. Damien entered kindergarten a year sooner than most children, and gained a somewhat advantageous grasp of whatever concepts may be learned in kindergarten, and often distanced himself from other children, deeming them to be little more than playmates, instead of 'friends'. Damien continued to exhibit this strange behavior throughout his stay in kindergarten, until he was admitted to a local elementary school, again at a year younger than deemed appropriate, still it seemed that not allowing him, would only feed his anxiety, as the behavior became more and more problematic.
Damien continued to exhibit the same individualistic behavior, often taking to adults more so than the children of his age, and gained what may only be described, as a certain premature 'precocity' that made him infamous at this young age. This behavior would translate as various notes on his behavior, various citations issued to his parents, until they'd simply stopped going, as though the issues that were being dealt with were not of their concern, and had other things to tend to at the time. After all they were being appointed to meet with the principal, over Damien's apparent shyness, and inability to cope with others, they dismissed the following meetings, though attempted to endorse a more 'healthy' relationship with Damien, attempting to bring playmates over, whilst they were simply dismissed by Damien, either ignored, or put to tears at his indifference over their presence. Whence higher education became available to Damien, such as an actual introduction to mathematics, geography, basic sciences, he seemed to thrive as an A+ student throughout all of his classes, unsure as for how to interpret this sudden rise in academics, Damien simply replied it as being simple memorization, and hence why he'd be able to work well with such simple concepts (of course his exact words were somewhat limited by the lexicon he'd be handling at the time).
Damien was left with a great amount of free time, that was later employed reading, going through literary works of moderate difficulty especially for a boy of such a young age, by the age of 8 had he already completed Aristotle's, and Plato's entire philosophical works, and had already dealt with most of the works regarding Epicurean and Herodotean philosophy, giving him a comprehension of mathematics unparalleled at the time. Complimenting the time he'd spent in libraries, his parents had him study Latin, French, Italian, and German under the tutelage of their friend, Cain, who saw great potential in the boy, and exploited the raw talent at his disposal by giving him a basic course in philosophy, as well as some of the finer points of mathematics, all of which would aid him when he entered junior high.
Upon reaching the appropriate age, Damien was enrolled in a junior high school, quickly finding that all of his subjects were as easy if not easier than his last, and found that a gap in his activities was evident, still under the same effects of his abnormal conduct, he continued to further himself from his peers, preferring to coop himself within the local library, than to actually interact with others, within the following years, a series of books were added to his repertoire, finishing most of Kafka's works, as well as Tolstoy's, and soon Herman Hesse would join the collection, as perhaps the most influential author in Damien's youth. The book 'Demian' was particularly attractive to him, dealing with the creation of personas capable of personifying an individuals' behavior, with this concept in mind, he quickly became enthralled by Hesse's texts, with what may only be described as a literary romance, something that was quite unbecoming of the seemingly rational boy, something that would change over the years, and allow his true persona to surface. Damien's tutor, continued his periodic visits, and soon took a liking to the boy, considering him a younger brother to look out for.
As Damien matured, an incessant anxiety began to manifest itself through him, as a pursuit for identity became more and more necessary. Damien came of age, and upon reaching 15 his parents would reveal the curse, and the truth behind the enmity amongst the Roswell families, Damien came to dismiss this rivalry as petty and unfruitful, he at first thought his abilities to be nothing more than a differential, like age, gender, and ethnicity, naught but an excuse for the conflict to ensue. As the teenager matured, he was enrolled into high school, upon completing his transition, he grew a particularly strong interest in anthropological studies, taking a liking to his historical subjects over the rest, and developing an interest in Philosophy, rivaled only by his mentor. His free time was spent with the family’s children, tending to their needs and taking care of them, giving him a sense of complement despite lacking any physical brothers.
Damien, continued his final studies within high school, and soon developed what may be considered a precarious love interest, as the time he spent within the library, eventually lead to what was his first true friendship, and his first crush, the bliss was short-lived, as Damien's social awkwardness did not allow for normal conversational topics, and thus the relationship was cut short, still it had left an impression upon him, and incited him into seeking out a more active social life, befriending others in the process, and began to enjoy a more normal youth. These friends, like his short-lived romance, were but small moments of bliss that would come to an abrupt end by the realization of Damien's true identity. Though he’d dismissed the practice of the Tithe, as well as anything related to the curse, his power did not lay dormant as he wished it to be, and began to manifest itself without control. With an already constricting schedule, Damien was almost unable to tend to his needs, regardless he’d need to ‘lest he wish to tempt faith. Whatever time he had for himself was cut short by practicing whatever stability he held over his powers, combining practical training with meditative trances so as to keep them under check, however, he knew full well that he could not attain any more stability than was granted by the white witch, he would continue to develop control as time went by.
As was predicted, Damien graduated from high school by his 17th birthday, due to his particular learning patterns and somewhat advanced intellect, enrolling at a local college, to serve as an escalation to the university of his choice. He abandoned a career in anthropology to favor one in Philosophy as he enrolled in a student exchange program, he’d leave Roswell to continue his studies in the United Kingdom, specifically at Cambridge university. His mother succumbed to Cervical Cancer at around this time, and even with therapy was it too much to bear. Damien was informed of his mother's death, albeit missing the actual funeral due to his stay being at Cambridge.
Damien would leave warm Atlanta, in favor of a frigid England. He would sooner complete his studies under the tutelage of his teachers. His plans for reaching that Master’s had rendered fruition, and after asking his parents for some additional time, managed to get an extension for his time in the UK. Upon completing his studies he’d also attained a Batchelor’s Degree in Pedagogy, being capacitated to become a teacher, and finally able to return home. Upon returning Damien began to work on a theory that related to the Roswell Families, their curse, and their ties to the White Witch, what little he know relates to the foundations of all powers, at least how truly similar they are when contrasted against several phenomena. His work is nowhere near completion, still it’s a start. He’s taking a sabbatical from his teaching at the moment, and enjoying the simple delights that is to have come back home. He lives at his parent's house, keeping company to his father.
