Appearance: Though Kathleen Tyson has all the makings of an intimidating essence with a family history as elaborately laced through the history of Roswell as that of General William Sherman himself her appearance strikes fear in the hearts of none. Standing at a height of just barely five foot three the girl barely has an imposing presence and is quite actually very petite. Her weight is just at the end of the healthy spectrum for her height being just over one hundred and ten pounds, however, though people may not notice her weight can fluctuate by up to five pounds. Though there is no muscle definition or chiseled perfection about the petite body of this "normal" girl she is toned from running which she finds is a great release for the stress and tension within. A blanket of lovely porceline skin covers the delicate bone structure of the young woman and appears quite tan in the summer sun. Her smooth skin is marred by very few markings of which are a light dusting of freckles over her shoulders presumably from hours in the sun yet not quite dark enough to be really noticed. On her ankle, in the soft spot between heel and Achilles tendon she has two small tattoos comprised of black ink no bigger than a dime each representing in Greek the word tormented and slightly diagonally and below that the symbol for the elemental fire. Piercing are something her body is void of save for her ears which have each been pierced twice.
Luscious locks the color of dark chocolate display a light dusting of red high lights when the light hits her head just so and hang two inches past her shoulders. The blanket of naturally pin straight hair is cut into several long layers at varying angles, cut with a razor and quite piece-y. Long, side-swept bangs hang across her somewhere in between large and medium sized forehead and occasionally mix with the fringe of long, full lashes that border her eyes. Almond shaped and emerald/sapphire (hazel) colored eyes sit a normal length from each other on either side of her oval shaped face. Between and beneath these lovely little mirrors of her soul are a long bridged, button shaped nose diagonally to the right of which sits a small, flesh colored beauty mark. Not quite full but pouty lips a natural strawberry color of pink are centered below her nose and above a rounded chin. And when she smiles innocent, child like dimples appear very noticeably on either side of her lips adding an adorable quality to her looks. When it comes to make up the brunette wears it to enhance, not cover her looks. By far the boldest she wears is when she's going out at night when she changes from neutral or cool colors to bright and bold. But during the days her heaviest make up is eye liner and mascara paired with neutral, warm eye shadow and a lightly tinted gloss. She almost never wears concealer and always avoids bronzer.
Ms. Tyson is the very definition of a flirty, feminine dresser but she hasn't always been this way. As a child she detested the frilly dresses she was forced to wear but now that she is older her fashion sense has evolved and she is frequently seen in cute little skirts. However, she has found that this style of clothing is best suited to show off her feminine body. That said she has an hour glass figure and an average bust size. She isn't Jessica Simpson huge nor is she Kate Hudson small, she is what she is to put it simply and is rather comfortable in being so. Her favorite way to dress by far is to pair denim pants with high heels and a baby doll style shirt. However, she has been known to wear just tee shirts and jeans as well. Everyone needs a day off.
Personality: Kathleen Penelope is rather a fiery, feisty girl not quite living up to the preconception people seem to have of her. If there's one thing to be remembered about the young girl it's that she truly gets what she wants. Perhaps she was born one of those lucky people for whom all is fated to fall into place or perhaps it is because single minded in achieving goals to the point of recklessness when the young girl sees something (or someone) she wants she goes after it and stops at nothing to achieve it. Certainly not shy Kathleen is what people might call bold, overly so sometimes. And she isn't afraid of speaking her mind, she over does so sometimes but she isn't really into tact, it's just saying stuff that isn't true. Those that know her know that her blunt demeanor is just part of the dynamics of Katie but others could be offended by them. If she doesn't like something or someone they know.
Reasons of the past, in her family history and that of six other families, have the girl pushing boundaries and living life to the fullest, because if she feels like she's living then she's better than her mom or that's her thinking. On the inside, in the part she doesn't let people see, Kathleen is a mess of insecurity and vulnerability. Easily hurt by those she trusts and especially, as past events have proven, those she loves. Her biggest mistakes made for all the wrong reasons. An attempt to fill the hole within or ease the broken, possibly mend. Though she doesn't really cry in front of people preferring the smile until she's alone route no matter how hard it is there are certain things that can break her down and do. It's those times she'll go missing. Kathleen wont be the first to take a leap of faith, in fact shes down right scared of it. Above everything Kathleen is confused, confused by what has happened and becoming exactly what she doesn't want to. Feeling a bit unwanted at home and having lived with essentially no family for the better part of forever for Katie tomorrow is both a promise and a threat. The promise that things will be better, can go great but the threat that everything could break apart.
At her best she's bubbly and carefree but at her worst she's vindictive and mean. A bitch without cause, if she doesn't like you or is having a bad day God help you because her temper and her "evil" streak are a force to be reckoned with. Not that she's really evil but people just try to give her sometimes mean streak a label. Because she is short tempered and prone to occasional moodswings anything from a wrong look to a wrong tone could be the cause for her anger. It all depends on the day or the person. Oh yes, she is quite judgemental and she does not love everyone. Talking about her and stabbing her in the back are unforgivable in her book. She does not fight and is much to small to be a fighter but she shall play mental games and do it quite well. The girl can be down right catty and the rumor mill is quite a friend to her. But after all is said and done if Katie knows or feels she did something wrong she will apologize for it profusely. Then again the young adult does have a fair amount of pride. "Early out of the gate" as her home friends described Kathleen was young but the oldest and she was always viewed as the stronger of the four. It isn't that the teen is particularly strong at all she just isn't going to let people walk all over her or her friends. She's fiercely loyal to a fault and would do almost anything for her friends both new and old. However, while she's a go getter and makes friends easily due to her social tendencies Katie doesn't easily let people in.
Seeming to exude confidence and certainly enjoying being the center of attention Katie tends to act a certain way though she knows on the inside she really doesn't have to. It is this magnetic aura around her that often places her at the center of attention - for no reason of her own there's simply something magnetic, enticing, and alluring about her - that has sparked this behavior. That paired with parental problems have Katie being somewhat a provocateur. She can be seductive and manipulative at times, expert at flirting, and occasionally conniving. Though she does have an innocent look that has her getting away with almost everything she's ever done wrong back home. She's never had to take responsibility for her actions before and is all about having fun, or so it seems.
Life having been rebuilt completely for the girl at one point there are still fault lines that exist from there running all throughout every inch of her. Though she seems to sprint through life in a torrent of activity seemingly unstoppable every once in a great while something unexpected will pop up and slam her hard. This leaves Kathleen slow and uncertain. Not good at putting herself back together again.
Kathleen can be a little demanding of power and battles for it but when she gets her way she is left only with herself. That terrifies her. However, she can't seem to stop herself from being this way fearing repression just as much. Essentially Katie is the kind of person who needs someone looking out for her. Someone to promise her that the world isn't empty.
When it comes to the other families cursed with powers Kathleen could care less about them. She thinks the petty little rivalry is quite ridiculous, however, that doesn't mean she wont defend her family when she has to. When it comes right down to it Katie, like anyone else, has immense family pride.
Powers: Manipulation of Fire--
Centuries ago the Tyson family was given, as a reward, the gift of the elemental fire and powers that would go along with it. However, as punishment for using the power to cause ill will to others the family was cursed -- every generation from then on would have family members that would bear powers related to the element. Though it was a fifty/fifty chance Kathleen was one of these members and can manipulate fire at will. It started as an odd obsession as a child and eventually her father explained the situation to her and her unknowing mother at the same time. But like most things there is a bit of a downside. Manipulation of fire is hard as the element itself is rather wild. When her emotions get the better of her or when she isn't concentrating her hardest Katie tends to let the fire get away from her. The end result? When she was sixteen she burnt down part of the farm house on the old family plantation in which she lives. It has since been rebuilt but always serves as a reminder of the dangers of her power.
Hobbies: fashion design, shopping, reading & writing, running
Occupation: College Student :: Kathleen was offered a place as a student at a sister college to FIDM in California. She attends the local branch full time but still lives in the old family home.

History: On November 23, 1983 two of the most prominent families to come from the greater southern area of the United States joined forces with a union between one Conrad Tyson a direct descendant of the Tyson family who had helped to rebuild Roswell, Georgia and Elizabeth Walsh of the family who struck literal gold in West Texas when in the 1800s her family found oil next to their ranch style home. The two young adults had met while at the University of Yale in Connecticut and married just months after graduation. Knowing of the curse bestowed upon his family before him and consequently any members born after that Conrad was adamantly against having any children convincing Elizabeth that they would be more well suited for adoption after they were financially stable. He was also fully aware of the chance that, after children were born, his wife would leave him after learning of the chance that their children would be born with powers, powers that would consume them eventually if they weren't careful. But two short years later their newly wedded bliss ended when on August 11, 1985 when one child turned into two as fraternal twins, one of each gender, were announced in the hospital as healthy and beautiful. The news that he would have to give his wife was pushed from his mind for just a bit as Conrad reveled in the joy of first time parenthood and helped to christen his children Kathleen Penelope Tyson and Cohen William Tyson after prominent figures in his own family history at the request of his wife.
For three months Conrad put off telling Elizabeth that there was a fifty percent chance that one of their children would bear the cross of the family on their back, however, when it became evident he was hiding something he no longer could hold out. Rather than simply tell Elizabeth of the curse Conrad decided to show her as well for he carried the burden with him every day of his life and to his great relief she decided to stick by him. Everyone, in her words, had a skeleton in their closet some were just bigger than others. So for the next five years the happy parents carried on as if nothing was wrong and they were a perfectly normal family. The twins, as most are, spent these five years being carted around together wearing matching outfits fit for their specific gender and being cooed at by passers by as happens to children sometimes. But on their fifth birthday something remarkable happened that at this point set the twins apart farther than their chosen activities ever could. Whilst blowing out the candles on her birthday cake Kathleen leaned too far and drug her dress sleeve through the flame of a candle. The material burst into flame and the parents frantically tried to put it out with water and by smothering it in cloth, some visitors dialed 911 on their phones but when the ambulance arrived there was not a burn or mar on her skin, merely burnt material hanging here and there. Conrad and Elizabeth acted as puzzled as everyone else when the paramedic left and while their guests were home but afterwards each knew the truth - their little Katie had been cursed.
From that day on her parents always kept a careful eye over their daughter only letting her go places with their supervision and her father started attempting to teach her control of her power. Or as much control as he could being that she was so young. As time went by they started to get more lenient with her giving the child more and more freedom as she aged. It went from being five and six years old only allowed to run around with people when her brother was present to being seven and eight when she was allowed to have people sleep over at her house. By the time she reached nine and ten years old Conrad thought that he had taught Katie enough that she would be able to keep from burning things down. She was allowed to finally experience life as a regular girl and sleep at people's houses. It was also at the age of ten that she refused to be called Kathleen anymore and would not respond when someone used her given name. Instead she only allowed herself to answer to Katie - she felt her name was too grown up and too old fashioned in the age when simple names such as Jessica, Carrie, Lauren, and Heidi were popular for girls.
In her pre-teens the brunette shocked none when she chose to become a cheerleader at the junior high school and continued with her dancing after school hours at a local instruction center. She had always been the epitome of girly and it continued to be this way throughout her life. However, it was also at this time that she became aware of some of the short comings of her family life. Kathleen had always been very close to her family particularly her brother as was common amongst teenagers. Both were popular at school and genuinely liked by most people perhaps not because people wanted to like them but because of who they were. Though her father had been an important figure in her life she felt he was getting too strict and his rules bored her, because of this she didn't really confide in him. And when it came to her mother she sort of started to feel a few fault lines forming between them but it wasn't only her, Kathleen saw her mother pull away from the whole family withdrawing into herself. Most this year was spent covering up where her mother really was - in a rehabilitation center for the severely depressed. Katie didn't know why her mother was suffering from depression but her grandparents had an explanation - she had always been that way they had just hidden it. Elizabeth's medical record was miles wide.
A month before her shared fourteenth birthday Kathleen came home to find a drastically changed mother. Elizabeth was perky, upbeat, and rather chipper - she seemed to be enjoying life. It didn't last, however, and while the twins were cleaning up their party Katie walked into the kitchen to grab a trash bag when she found her mother sprawled on the floor seemingly sleeping. But upon touching her skin Katie found that her mom was freezing cold and without realizing it she had started screaming and sobbing simultaneously which brought Conrad flying into the room. He ordered the children from the kitchen and called an ambulance but it was too late for Elizabeth. With ambulance lights strobing in the dark driveway Elizabeth Anne Walsh-Tyson was pronounced dead at the scene. Her life taken by her own hands.
For three years after that Katie was forced to see a therapist after school. Though she swore that she was fine and even acted like she wasn't phased by the incident her father knew better. She had, after all, set fire to their barn and part of the field when she had turned sixteen. Her birthday from her fourteenth on was something to be sad on not something to celebrate in her mind. Eventually she was taken out of therapy and the doctor noted the reason for the changes in her behavior in a file he gave to her father. The therapist wrote that she had scar tissue in her head that had developed due to the stress and trauma. It was the sole reason she seemed to have blocked out most of the incident repressing it to nothing where she didn't remember screaming or her father taking her away. It was also to blame for her seeming recklessness and tendency to push her limits. Katie never knew about this file at least not until she broke into her father's study the year she was released from therapy. She was seventeen at the time and it infuriated her that Conrad had, had the files made. She felt so betrayed that she refused to talk to him for a month.
Conrad bought back his daughters voice when he gave her the red Honda prelude she had been eyeing on the dealership all year. But that wasn't the sole reason he had given her the car Conrad wasn't one to spoil his children. He had given it to her as a sort of early Christmas present. That entire year saw the change in Katie come out full force. She stayed out for days at a time, sometimes all night, and partied frequently. Though she had always carried a 3.0 in school her grades tanked and she started to be the stereotypical portrayal of a cheerleader. It lasted an entire year until when she was a senior Katie realized that perhaps it was time to change if she ever wanted out of Roswell. It was then that she realized perhaps she could never leave Roswell at risk of perishing due to her family member's incompetence and the cures of the White Witch. Instead she stayed.
It was at nineteen and after graduation from high school that Katie entered a contest put on by Cosmopolitan for designing clothes - something she had always loved. Kathleen won and was offered a full ride to the Fashion Institute of Merchandise and Design (FIDM) in California. But since she couldn't go they offered her a spot in the just as selective sister school located right outside of Roswell. Katie accepted and chose to commute from her house to school every day. It was cheaper and made more sense. After just over a year of doing so Katie tired of driving all the way to the school and got herself in an apartment more local. However, it drained the bank account her father put money into every month and she started to fall on her face though she hid it well.
Though she had once lived on her own Katie moved back home at the age of twenty two and just one year from graduation with a major in design and a minor in PR work. In fact, she is currently unpacking, trying to find a job, and hoping to graduate on time. All the while Katie wants to just be a normal person for once and has started to resent her powers.
Few things....
Description: Shape of face? Does she have a bust?
Personality: What makes her angry and how does she react to this strong emotion [is she the type to become physical or is it all mental reactions]?
It says she has an oval shaped face already but I shall edit in the other stuff if its missing.
ETA: the way she acts when angry was there also but I expanded it to be more specific and give examples of what would make her angry. I also added in a brief part about her bust but it is brief because I wasn't sure how to describe um boobs *shrug* hopefully its better now ^_^
Ah, I overlooked the facial shape and saw only the shape of her eyes. I apologize.
LOL Yes, describing a girl's bust is difficult but you set a very nice example with using references, clever. ^_^
Alright, I say a definite acceptance from me. ^_^
