Name: Vance Somer Tenneson
Nicknames: none
Family:
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Avatar: Stewart Copeland
Appearance: Vance is all of six-foot-three, due mostly to his long legs. From the age of fourteen, he was always considerably taller than his peers, but not as heavy. Naturally lanky, he has thin wrists, slender but muscular legs and a small waist. He wears jeans almost every day, has a huge collection of t-shirts, and wears his knee-length leather jacket over everything.
Vance has an oval-shaped face and a long chin. His eyebrows lay low and flat over his eyes, giving him a constant look of concentration. He has a wide forehead that he usually covers partially with his hair. Vance’s eyes are brown and his eyelashes naturally dark, which, coupled with the dark circles usually under his eyes, give him a tired and brooding appearance. He has a prominent nose (which he got from his father), and straight teeth, though no one sees them often because he doesn’t show his teeth when he smiles
Vance’s dirty-blonde hair curls on the ends, especially on humid days, and is wavy through-out. He usually wears it just below his ears in the back, shorter on the sides, and hanging over his forehead messily in the front (mostly to hide the wide forehead, which he also got from his father).
Vance has no tattoos. He tans easily and in the summer has a healthy glow that many people are envious of.
Personality: Vance is like a summer storm, one minute calm and warm and the next minute surrounded by storm clouds. It all comes down to what's in his mind at the time and who he's with.
Having someone who can capture Vance's extremely fragile trust makes him very happy, and with that person, Vance lets loose some of his ironic and usually biting sense of humor. Most often, though, if you see him smiling, it's at one of his own cruel but true observations of life. He is his own best friend and is happier alone. People following him, nagging him, or asking him questions are extremely irritating to Vance, which is why he generally avoids children altogether. Despite being born into a wealthy family, treatment of people based on their financial status is something that makes Vance very angry. He sees through flattery and it irritates him greatly.
Conjuring up his half-hidden feelings of guilt over a friend's death can move him almost to tears, but only if he is alone.
Temperamental, brooding, Vance can read a book in a day but will likely forget what he read if it didn't suit him. A lie or falsehood from a friend, however, will be remembered forever, as if it has been burned onto his very brain.
Despite his name, money and connections, Vance had a hard time making (or keeping) friends in high school and beyond. A harsh judge of human nature, Vance would rarely give people second chances and was always searching them, testing them. By age seventeen, Jessica was worried enough about Vance that she took him repeatedly to doctors, had tests run on him, and tried to take him to a psychiatrist. He was never found to have any physical cause for his isolation and moodiness, other than an active mind and perhaps a little too much intelligence.
Vance has a temper, but rarely strikes out at anyone physically. When pushed, he can fight and fight well, but words and smarts are his chosen weapons, even when angry.
Powers:
Hobbies: Collecting records and old books. He has no taste for TV or most movies, preferring the private world of books and music.
Occupation: During his college years, Vance worked at Mr. Dizmo’s Music Store, an expansive basement-shop an hour outside of NYC that sold records, tapes, and used books. Vance was not very good at interacting with customers, but he had a vast knowledge of music that was helpful for the owner as well as customers who asked him for advice. A few days after dropping out of college, Vance quit his job. The next morning the shop owner had ten large boxes of used books, records and tapes delivered to him, sent by a Mr. V. Tenneson.
Upon arriving in Roswell, Vance gets a job at a music store in the shopping center.
Extra:
Parents: Gary Tenneson (owner of a very successful advertising agency in New York) and Jessica Tenneson (homemaker)
Siblings: Melissa, 28 years old and Jack, 19 years old
Other Members:
History: Vance is the second child and first son of Gary and Jessica Tenneson, born on September 1st, a Virgo. Four years after he was born, his parents had a third child, another son, forcing Vance into the middle-child role. He fit the role better than anyone would have ever guessed.
Gary's considerable financial wealth allowed him to raise his three children with any material goods they ever wanted, but human touch and emotional connection were too costly for him, and he regularly chose to "stay out of the kids' lives", saying it was "really for their sakes." Jessica was loving to her children, but out of her depth when dealing with her dark one, Vance.
At Vance's eighteenth birthday party, while nearly 200 guests watched, Vance lost his temper with his older sister and younger brother, (over a petty insult the little brother offered) turned a table over and stormed outside, not to be heard from again for nearly a week. When he did finally return, he offered no apology to his siblings or his mother.
Vance’s college career was as tempestuous as his high school years. In his first year, tall and lanky Vance won a debate with a know-it-all student and then later, when the same student called him out for a physical fight, Vance knocked the young man out, only after breaking his arm.
The one person who Vance called friend was a blue-collar worker about his age, who worked as an underling at a company, Gunder, that served as main competitor to Vance’s father’s company. Vance met him during his second year in college, and maintained a friendship with him for almost half a year. A mysterious propane explosion at Gunder’s main office killed Vance’s friend as well as twelve other people. Vance’s father forbid him from attending the funeral, but he went anyway.
By the beginning of Vance's third year at college, he disappeared from campus completely, quit his job and left the northeast.
Vance heard about Roswell from the owner of Mr. Dizmo’s. Originally he planned to just pass through on his way farther south, but when he arrived in Roswell, he decided to stay for a few days. The few days turned into a weeks, and when Vance found a music store in the shopping center that was willing to hire him, he decided to stay. Almost two years later, he is still in Roswell, though he has not made any friends.
Vance has always found answers in the darker sides of life, and came to Roswell, not as Vance Somer Tenneson, messed-up rich kid, but as Vance. Just Vance; Vance with no friends or family, Vance who never calls up his mom or second cousin to see how they are.
He likes to take long walks, listen to the whispered stories about the town he calls home, ponder on the supernatural sides of life, speculate, and have a drink or two every night. Despite several years separating him from the event, he still feels a subconscious guilt about his friend’s untimely death and at very angry times, has wondered if his father somehow had something to do with it.
Vance is a serial first-dater. He finds most people boring after a first meeting, or finds them dishonest, which to him, is the worst trait of all to have. Honesty, even about disliking someone, is highly valued in his mind. In college, Vance went on a date and got up fifteen minutes into their meal, left, and never spoke to the woman again. On many occasions, his dates ended disastrously because he would call the women on lies they told, or bring up some dark subject matter that terrified them. Vance is happy on his own and is never surprised when a date ends badly.
If Vance had the opportunity, he would find a way to speak to his friend from the dead, to find out what caused the explosion, and perhaps to try to relieve his own deep-seated guilt. He dwells on those thoughts especially when walking through graveyards, reading the headstones (something he likes to do regularly).
Vance lives in a one-bedroom apartment.

Thank you! I added several sentences to the personality part, kind of broken up into different places (I hoped it would make more sense that way!) and also added his birthday.
