Hobbies: Rose likes to cook big Sunday lunches for her family. She is usually found planting flowers in the small gardens around her house. Her great, great, great and so forth on great grandchildren are the world to her so she is always making small gifts for them in order to keep in mind where they came from. Rose also likes to sit on her front porch and rock back and forth on her wooden chair. However, the best thing in the world is for her to scare people. It brings the best of laughters to her.

History: Rose Abigail Meridian was born to James and Alice Meridian on May 5, 1868. It was the year of the Reconstruction Period for the United States after the Civil War. Her birth has always been celebrated as a holiday for those who have known about her. It was the night of her birth that the six families were given their powers as a way to award them for their good deeds. However, since then, Rose has been responsible for them and their actions.

She grew up in a time when her people had been declared free from slavery, yet weren’t exactly treated with equality. Rose spent most her growing years being called names and disrespected by those who weren’t part of those who her family had gifted. Though she took this reaction from people as a young child, it all changed when she became older and grew into her powers.

The Meridian family had been a power people since the beginning of their journey here to America. They followed the way of life of their ancestors, which has become known as Voo Doo in the later years of Roswell. They have always had a strong connection with the after life and the powers that has been given to them by a higher power. They have used their power for the greater good; awarding those who brought great promise to the future and punishing those who crossed the family.

Rose had been able to attend a small school the government provided for African Americans at the time. She made it until the 8th grade, and that was when her mother came down with the flu. James took his daughter out of school, deciding she had had enough education a female should have. Rose had to take on the responsibilities of her mother, which meant cleaning, cooking, and making sure siblings were behaving, while her father worked at the clinic.

Time had passed slowly, and Alice recovered within a year, however she was still too weak and Rose had gotten use to the routine of taking care of the household. Her mother had tried to convince Rose to go back to school and finish her education, to become the first member of the family to graduate, but Rose couldn’t. She felt there was something more for her; all she had to do was wait.

At the age of seventeen, the girl met with a man by the name of Charles Block who had just graduated college and moved to Roswell. The two had bumped into each other as Rose was walking out of her father’s small clinic. Finding out who she was, Charles courted her for several months, and convinced James and Alice that he was madly in love with their daughter. James wasn’t too thrilled about the idea of his eldest daughter marrying, but knew she had to grow up
