New Age Scan Bar:

Im going to show you how to make this shweeet scan bar.


1.Open up a new document 400x125px,transparent background.

2.Filter>Render>Clouds

3.Filter>Render>Difference Clouds

4.Image>Adjustments>Auto Levels

5.Image>Adjustment>Hue/Saturation.
*MAKE SURE THE COLORIZE BOX IS CHCEKED OR THIS WONT COLORIZE THE

IMAGE*
I used these settinings:
Hue=200
Saruration=63
Lightness=+30
(you can use any color you like just make sure your image is a little

bit on the bright side)

6.Now we need to create to gradients.Each gradient has to be on a

seprate layer.So Create A New Layer,grab your gradient tool(default

settings) and do a gradient as shown:


7.Now chnage this layers Blending Mode to Overlay.


8.Move this layer all the way to th top to where a very littl bit of

the gradient is peeking out.(*you might have to zoom in a couple of

times to get it that close to the edge)

9.Duplicate the gradient layer(Layer>Duplicate Layer)

10.Now Edit>Transform>Rotate 180* and move this layer all the way to

the bottom like we did with the gradient at the top.


11.Hide this layer for now.

12.Now to give this that new age futuristic look make a new

layer(Layer>New>Layer) and fill this layer with the scan line

pattern(Edit>Fill)

13.Change this layers Blending Modet to Overlay.

14.Swith over to ImageReady now.

15.Im gonna take you throygh this animation step by step.
a.Duplicate the first frame and drag down the top gradient as shown.

b.duplicate that frame and drag down the gradient a lttle bit more.

c.now repeteat until you reach the bottom.

d.now hide that gradient layer and un-hide the bottom gradient that i

told you to hide earlier.

e.Now repeat the above steps in the opposite order until you reach

the top.


Now when you play it back you should have something like this.


Now what you do from here is up to you.I expect some real coo

signatures to come from this tutorial.
