Title: This game needs a lot more attention...
NuklearArel - February 5, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
Why is it that in every Tales forum, this game seems to be the one that's ignored?
I never got to play this game yet, but after watching many of asukuran's boss videos, I'd like to get this as my next Tales game.
It just looks so interesting and unique. I'm just wondering why it's so ignored?

Because the silent games are the best. Look at Tales as a whole.
After playing it, I can't tell why. Maybe it's the story, kinda reusing the old "Collect the spirits" motif. But during that time, you get to explore the characters a lot more, and see them develop. I guess the character development comes late. But I enjoyed the character development none-the-less.
Blah blah blah, battle system great, prefer it over the others. It's just awesome for some reason. AI is smart, certain groups will try to distract you while the faster people charge your casters.
Currently, Rebirth is my favorite Tales of all time. I just love everything about it.
WHY is this game ignored?

People say it's "slow". Ew, well forget what they say. They're newbies. Rebirth is an awesome game...some people can't get into it, some people get REALLY into it. Like me, I love the cube battle system, it's sort of like Destiny, you can use as many techs as you want without TP. =D
I don't really know what's keeping people from getting an eye at this game... ;>_< Maybe it's the complicated battle system? :S
Sirth - February 6, 2007 09:11 AM (GMT)
There are many things that can turn people off. A slower system, a more complicated system, a harder system. However, I personally think aesthetically, Rebirth beats them all to the ground. The dual hi-ougis are awesome and unique, the ougis actually want me to see them since they're not the usual "one move then another under one command for use in combos" like the others have been. Think only Destiny and Phantasia have done it right, and maybe Eternia. I think there's also a few good decent ways to help see your characters grow, whether they be ougis, weapons, or the cube. Then the strategic portions I mentioned.
I stand by my idea that Rebirth is and may always be the best. I'll see what Destiny R brings though.

Ohhhhh~ *feels bad* I would talk more about Rebirth if only I have the game, I don't even know how to get it [I don't have a Visa or Mastercard]. If only Namco would release it in the Americas... I've seen so many cool things in Rebirth... I want it so bad!!!!!>o<

It's one of my favs (destiny remake took a lot of things from this one and made it even better, even if their battle systems are both good for me).
If you compare rebirth to destiny 2, one is almost the incarnation of freedom (you have 3 lines, no negative grade, do as many techs as you want and stuff) and the other one is strictness xDD with the sp bar and the grade system. well, I'm exagerating but that's how I see it x.x
Visuals go like this> ToD2> ToR> ToDr, but the last 2 ones are really close : )
And Sirth, if you loved ToR, you'll love ToDr the same, or even more *__* (except for the lack of 3 lines, I miss them xDD)

That's my fav Tales of.
The battles, the characters(tytree), the graphics are the best for me, and the story is good too.
Just play it (there is an exellent guide on GameFaq).

I am planning on getting it after I get ToD2 PSP. It looks amazing! ><

I think Rebirth needs a direct cameo or something...the Veigue-lookalike in ToDR wasn't enough for me. XD I wanted an actual Veigue sprite and the "Claire!" yell and probably a Hi Ougi. XD
And another reason Rebirth deserves more attention is because ToDR's sprites are based almost directly off of Rebirth...so yeah! Thank ToR for ToDR's amazing sprites!
happip - February 8, 2007 11:49 PM (GMT)
yup >: ( they could have put veigue without editting its sprite because it fits perfectly.
Tales of Harmonia or whatever the next tales is going to be NEEDS Rebirth and Legendia cameo battles ;__;

All this Tales of Rebirth talk has got me playing it for the past 3 days! =D I love it again. I started from Tytree's Sacred Beast, all the way to the point before Yuris' Realm. ~_~

I was rather disapointed when I found that Tales of Rebirth's cameos aren't much...
happip - February 20, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
rebirth cameos are close to non existance (I only noticed that child veigue is GENIS :D same clothes and stuff) xD but cameos don't make a good game :3 it's true that a cameo battle would have been awesome xD

The other dissapointment was that there WAS NO DAMN COLISEUM/ARENA!!! T_T; It would have been the hardest of the Tales arenas since Annie doesn't have any physical attacks or magical attacks (except one?). And I wanted to see each character's sprite closely; just for the heck of it. I'm a sprite-freak for neat games like Rebirth. XD
NuklearArel - February 21, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
Hey, wasn't there a Judas comeo somewhere. I remember someone had a screenshot of it.
k1te - March 1, 2007 07:30 PM (GMT)
The game's awesome, the story's boring.
Leon Magnus - March 1, 2007 10:00 PM (GMT)
Eh, i could care less about Story. This is gonn abe my next game, then I get Eternia, then I dance over the grave of Tempest.
