Once the highest ranked student in the Palmacoasta Academy, Vance underwent a trial forced upon him by his father. He sucessfully passed, and had a mark branded onto each of his palms. One let him control the world's mana in the form of spells, the other granted him angellic powers. The powers had a price however, as he lost all his memory. He now travels the world, looking for anything that will help him regain even a shred of what he lost.
