Title: Suggestions and Business!

kafeithekeaton - May 31, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
Hola! I'm here on an offering of much what-a-what. Anywho, down to business, I'm seeking affiliation. If the admins would be intrested, please PM me on this forum and I'll give the specs and link(I'm not one that likes to wave my link around. I don't feel that's quite polite, you see).

Anywho, I'd like to make some suggestions for this site as well, after a brief going over.

1.The Category text is hard to read in most of your skin choices. You have to highlight it to actually see what it says. Could you change the text color there to something other than white?
2.In all honesty, are the nextgenwars statistics necessary? I mean, they're not really relevant to the site content and only bog it down aesthetically.
3.I'd suggest you guys consider getting a CBox. They help boost forum activity and are a nice quick way to keep in contact.
4.I'd suggest joining some topsites and getting more affiliates. If I may suggests some topsites to join that I have found decent:
http://topsite.smashboards.com/
http://koeiwarriors.itopsites.com/
http://www.phanxgames.com/topsites/
http://kafeithekeaton.itopsites.com/
http://www.valituruscross.com/topsites/
http://cursedwaters.forgottenmem.net/topsites/
5.Check your site using SE-Inspector found on http://se-tools.com/ . It tells you some useful ways for your site to get better ranked in search engines, resulting in more people coming to the forums. Look into the meta tags, especially.
6.It might be a good idea to use http://realtracker.com . It allows you to see how people are finding your site as well as the number of people visiting your site. Good for checking your site health.
7.Advertise your forum in signatures everywhere. Bigger forums, smaller forums, trust me, it really helps. Be sure to anchor your links with relevant keywords. It helps, really.
8.I'd suggest changing your Tales smilies to actual portraits of the characters. The quality of them isn't that great, in all honesty. I actually have many of the character's portraits in smiley size if you guys want them...

Yeah, I realise I'm being a bit foward for someone with a post count of 2, but, I like getting down to business and being helpful. :P

Heh...you're quite the bargainer, as usual.

1: I've tried to find the text for that darn title, but alas, I never found it. So far though, my members have never complained about it.
2: It's a decoration. ~_~ Nobody is against it.
3: I need someone to register a chatbox for me, though. I...don't want to do it. =(
4, 5, 6: Meh, affiliations never worked for me. I've done it in 3 different forums. None of them ever granted me a permanent member.
7: Already doing it. D;
8: As far as I'm concerned, my members actually LIKE the Tales smilies. I prefer not to imitate other Tales boards and use portraits...I want to use something catchy and unique. I started with Tales smilies, and I won't change them. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Mwahahaha! I pick it up from my two and a half years experience. > : D

1.I CAN HELP!

http://64digits.com/games/index.php?cmd=view_game&id=2801
Download that program. Get the color of the category text and press CTRL + F in the board wrappers and search for that color.

2.Yes, but note, it bogs down your site. Note, that websites are ranked in a search engine by keyword saturation. nextgenwars.com alt is going to lower the density of actually useful keywords on your page. I'm just putting it out there.

3.I'll register for you and send you the password and name. Does that work out?

4.Well, take note, affiliates and topsies do more than just get you access to that member base. They increase the appearance of your site and therefore get it ranked higher in search engines, resulting in more views, resulting in higher positioning in the search engine. Sure, it may not have any clear-cut showings, but trust me, it helps.

Also, I'd like to tell you that you need to judge affiliates and topsites appropriately. Before joining them and putting them on your site, check what it would bring you. Find the stats for the website you affiliate with and how many people will see your banner. Linking to forums that are unpopular doesn't help at all. The same for topsites. Check the average out you get on them. If it's high enough, that's good. .5 a day is a decent amount, trust me.

5.SE-Inspector doesn't have to do with your categorization of it. Trust me, use it and add meta tags. They're invisible and no one will see them, and they help you get more people.

6.Same for real tracker, except, it's more of a way to exploit your site for more visitors. Trust me, it helps.

7.Wooh!

8.Mmmkay then. I'd suggest checking it later, though, just in case.

1: Darn program failed to run on my computer. =( Anyways, what do I do when I get it to work? Screenshot, color pick, and find the color #? You probably have the program so...would it be too much to ask you to tell me the color #?

2: Sorry, that still won't change my mind.

3: Yes, that would work...excellently.

4: Well, it couldn't hurt to try I suppose.

5: I'll take that to consideration.

6: Eh...interesting.

7: Kekeke...

8: Show your moves.
