Do you know if its coming out in the U.S? I can read a freakin thing on that web page.
Silverdragon15 - July 20, 2007 04:23 PM (GMT)
That looks pretty cool, not going to lie.
Yeah, hope it's not Lloyd X Colette child. Even though Namco favors that pairing...
Anyway, the guy in the back is kinda hard to connect with Lloyd. Colette maybe.
Tienron - July 20, 2007 04:51 PM (GMT)
Lloyd x collect ....scares me the child oh that poor child not to have one but two dumb parents lets hope it's somthing different all togeter
NuklearArel - July 20, 2007 06:24 PM (GMT)
Come on Datel, hurry up with that Freeloader.
Who knows when the time is set for this story.
Sunny - July 20, 2007 06:36 PM (GMT)
It takes place 2 years after the original plot. *Phew* No children. I hope they don't make anything canon though. Lloyd x Collet or Shihna x Zelos are so misleading. Anyways, I hope the plot for this makes up for the unnecessary sequel. xD
Tienron - July 20, 2007 10:45 PM (GMT)
there are most likley gonna be pair ups maybe since it's been like two years but i wonder who the new character is he dons;t look failimer i wonder about the new story too he might be a half elve
TheAbyssOfFonim - July 21, 2007 12:04 AM (GMT)
Anything on the battle system? I am much more concern about that than the other stuff. On IGN, it said you are able to capture monsters and use them in battle. That kinda threw me out of the window. ;)
King Dhaos - July 21, 2007 12:40 AM (GMT)
I feel like I'm the only person on this site who either isn't japanese or can't read japanese or chinese writing or whatever that is. :sob:
Translation please?

All the stuff about it was mentioned above, read the other posts once in awhile.

Considering how there were alternate paths, they shouldn't make any pairing canon.

It's supposed to include Free-Run.

Although wonderful as it is, I do believe the Wii can hold much more polishment than that. :/ And the girl looks kinda weird. :P The guy reminds me of the main character from FFTactics.
As for the pairing thing, I do believe it's to follow ColletxLloyd, and ShihnaxZelos. But I like the ShihnaxZelos pairing...
Sunny - July 21, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
The girl is hot, man. Anyways, I sure hope they upgrade those graphics. That looks horrible, and why do they keep using Abyss monsters? >:[
TheAbyssOfFonim - July 21, 2007 08:02 PM (GMT)
FR-LMBS!? really? I'm disappointed. A new battle system would better. Give me a new LMBS!!!
Sapphire Bullet - July 22, 2007 01:21 AM (GMT)
Look at that Legretta wannabe! And omgggggggg -_- I bought a PS2 for Tales of the Abyss, and now THIS... Sheesh -_- now I must buy a Wii for this game and prolli next year Imma have to buy a XBOX 360 for some new game and then teh year after that a PS3 -_______- ;_; Why cant the world be in my favor for once *sobs*
Sunny - July 22, 2007 01:40 AM (GMT)
I think you should be happy that Regret has made an influence on the character. Besides, nobody complained that she has Annie's hairstyle, and that the boy looks like kid Veigue. =/
Besides, she uses a revolver, that's badass dude. =) I want to use a Tales gunner for once. =D
Isenet - July 22, 2007 11:53 AM (GMT)
...Wow...she does have Annie's hairstyle and the guy does like a younger Veigue...Can't believe I didn't notice that...XD
Sunny - July 22, 2007 05:52 PM (GMT)
Pinned. Anyways, let's get back to Symphonia shall we? I wonder what the roles of the ToS cast is going to be like. And what about Yuan? He's not dead yet, so...is he going to pay a visit to Martel via Yggdrasil? xD I want him to be playable or fightable. B)
Lloyd Irving - July 22, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
If you think about it, you'll probably run into Genis and Raine as they travel the world. Also, I'm thinking you may need some assistance from the Lezareno Company, and there you'd meet Regal, possibly Presea.
Tienron - July 22, 2007 11:14 PM (GMT)
oh god monster's are your friends now this should be intresting and the old gruop comes back i dunno what to say about this new game just have to wait and see altho the characters good new that's about it
Sapphire Bullet - July 23, 2007 12:37 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah, you also must realize that Summon Spirits still exist and such with Sheenah. :| Maybe Verious (Corrine) will have some role in this game.
King Dhaos - July 23, 2007 06:49 PM (GMT)
Namco must be running out of ideas because it looks like they're using quite a few of the monsters from TotA. I also heard on another forum that you can summon monsters to use in battle (Not nessisarily summon spirits but actually monsters. It looks like it has a TotA battle system

Debatable.

Sounds like Pokemon.

But Shihna is an NPC, if she even makes an appearance. Also, she's the current Summoner who owns the pacts to the Summon Spirits. We don't even know if there's going to be a party member with elven blood in the cast. We also don't know how similar it is going to be from ToS. In my opinion, this sequel is going to be a lot different than what the original ToS is about - considering they're basing the graphics, monsters and Free Run off of Abyss.

You raise the monsters and put them in your party to battle with them, not summon them. I just hope there won't be a shortage of cast members because of this monster system. And I agree that Namco is running out of ideas. But at least the character designs are original (with the exception of the kid who looks like a better version of Marche).

Everyone's acting like this is the first time Namco ever reused monsters.
Sunny - July 23, 2007 08:35 PM (GMT)
True, they re-used the monsters before...but they were significantly different than before. For example, the gello-thingies in ToS are different than the ones in ToE - as well as various other monsters. But the way RM recycled monsters from Abyss without making any changes is a bland idea. At least they should give them a new attack or better AI. They look too alike.
Silverdragon15 - July 24, 2007 05:19 AM (GMT)
It's not like they use weird coloured variations of the same monster all the time, right? Oh wait, they do.
Seraphim Swordmaster - July 24, 2007 01:36 PM (GMT)
I would love to play as a half-elfish hero. Humans have had it good for too long. I just want to see some more water, ice, light and dark based weapon (read: hero's sword) techs. Fire, Wind and Lighting have had it too good as well! Of course, I want a western (read: Europe AND North America) release as well. If I don't see another Tales game in Europe soon I may have to cry. We've only got three you know!!
Sunny - July 25, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
I highly doubt that...xD Maybe some elements, not definitely not all of them or several for that matter. The character's names have been announced for those who don't know yet:
Boy: Emil Castagnia
Girl: Marta Lualdi
I like the girl's name. <3

One thing everyone forgot to predict. This is probably the Tales game that is most likely to be released in the US, thanks to Nintendo and the first Symphonia's "success". Oho!
And Symphonia managed to be successful because the Gamecube was RPG-Starved... >_>

That's pretty good speculation. I also think so too. Besides, most games on the Nintendo systems get localized. I just wished they announced a release date for Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn already.
Honestly, I don't know why people are bothering with petitions for KoR, since it's already guaranteed to come out. xDD Another thing I like about the localization: Nintendo did a better job at localizing Symphonia than Namco did with Abyss and RM IMO.
Silverdragon15 - July 28, 2007 05:08 AM (GMT)
Symphonia's localization was great, and the voice actors were skilled too. Abyss was alright, took me awhile to get used to Tear. She should have stayed as Chloe...so, I agree with Sunny.
The key thing is their personalities, and that's what I want to know. What are these characters like?

yeah that's why i like the voice acting in abyss it's for there personalities and also it was'nt crap like they just read it off a script they did it with emotiom too i thing the voice acting has gone better with tales but will there used the symphonia voices or the TOTW ones cause to be honest they do sound different
Sunny - July 30, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)
http://namco-ch.net/talesofsymphonia_wii/index.phpOfficial site is updated. I saw this last night and updated the front page with character information - I just never got to post it.
Isenet - July 30, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
Cool...looks like we'll be able to visit old towns (well...duh...>_>) and visit some new places...One of which reminds me of the Graveyard in the Lion King...<.<
And...you didn't happen to throw those profiles through a translator (and edit it for understanding), did you, O great King? XD
Sunny - July 30, 2007 05:40 PM (GMT)
Actually, I did - it was very accurate however. In fact, I do that for every profile in Tales that is in Japanese ever since I started doing information. ~.~ And they always seemed accurate with a few mistakes. So I'm content with what I do. I just wished we had someone Japanese on our Forums.
Isenet - July 30, 2007 05:45 PM (GMT)
Yeah...BTW, the word is "effeminate", not "effemite" in Emil's description...which, with the sound "fem" in it, means a guy that has tastes, traits, habits, etc. which are considered feminine...
...-_-; Lord...I did NOT just say that, did I...
Sunny - July 30, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Edited, thanks. That's what Emil is by the way. He's a trap like Ion and Mao.
