Eternia is...the only Tales game I have not played AT ALL besides Tempest and RM...so I'm quite curious as to how this game is like.

Man its just great! you'll have a lot of fun with it. esspecially with the Hi-ougis like Auroa wall and sword! you won't regret it when you buy it!

It's definitely an awesome game, epecially as a PSone Tales RPG. It's a lot deeper than the PSone Tales of Destiny and has nice graphics for a PSone game. I guess it's hard to describe how good it is so maybe a few gameplay vids will give you an idea :P

i only played psp version, but it can get very frustrating

hard to link 3 hit normal attack, and hard to chain techs

very frustrating when u get staggered by almost anything

I only played Eternia a few moments... and I think it's a great game ^^ The graphics is similar to ToD2 or ToR, and for a PSOne game, this looks amazing :D (Well, it has been so many years since I play Eternia). Well, I think the story isn't too special... but I like the characters :D Especially Farah.

Yeah, story isn't special, but I love the characters. Played through twice, currently working on my third.

I will admit some parts sound wrong, but overall I loved the voice acting.

My second favorite Tales game! The battles were great, hi-ougis are fun to pull off, and the graphics IMO are great. Voice acting was a bit bad, but at least I liked it better than Phantasia's.

Same as Taka, nothing special from the story (IMO)...
I love the Japanese voice acting, but the English voice acting was a bit bad...

It's differnt from Phantasia and Destiny because when you cast magic you could just keep on fighting the enemy and the Hi-ougis are just awesome. Buy it and you'll have fun trust me.

I think the only thing that isn't good in Eternia is the US voice acting.

As far as I heard, people say that Eternia US version had a horrible voice acting? Is that true? o_O

I remember hearing a YTMND about a dubbed game that REALLY had horrible voice acting. Probably put everything else to shame in that regard.

Eternia is more than tolerable. I kept going on and on on my second playthrough about how people were out of their freaking minds about it being bad, to the point where I become seething with rage everytime someone says it. Only part I didn't like was the end. Probably because of the cliche, "blah blah, humans aren't bad, blah blah, they can change, blah blah," that I see way too much. Otherwise, they're mostly going by Dragon Demon Chaos and Sonic Blade, which are tolerable. Might be because the line sounds cheesy, so it's hard to fathom acting it, or because it's not Japanese.
Oh, and Farah's voice doesn't break your ears in the English version. There's that too. In that sense, Meredy's voice isn't high pitched as well, and more relaxing on the ears.

To be truthful though I was indeed annoyed at their voices initially, but sometime along the way I no longer was. Still, Meredy's "Baiba" can still get me annoyed enough to turn the voices off again.

Baiba... why does she say "Wow" at times like those...?

if you still want opinions, this was my second tales game. I loved it. It would be my favourite but practically the next tales games made by team destiny took things from eternia and made them a lot better with ToD2 , ToR and ToDr. Maybe you'll miss grade and more hi ougis and that stuff, but for me, after playing most of tales games, the battle system is a lot of fun.
Farah and reid kick ass in battle, summons and spells are flashy, the story is decent for me, what else do you need? xDD

Its not TOP list but its really fun to play. the hi-ougis could bea bit hard to trigger but that all. I love Reids Aurora arts( Wall, Sword which is "Slash" when you fight and at last Wave).
I don't understand why you guys say that the story isn't that good. I think its great!

And Sunny if you own a PSP then you should buy it. If not you should look if there are or are still comming games you like. ToE is a Tales game you should not miss.

Woops, I meant it's on MY toplist. Heh, I should be more direct sometimes, eh? Anyways, it's not exactly my PSP, it's my little brothers'. And since I've played every major Tales game but Eternia (but I didn't beat Phantasia V__V;), I'm really considering getting this for myself. =D

Nah, I don't know about the BEST story. I mean, I guess it's not bad. I'd just remove the whole "Humans are bad" spiel they don't bother to explain, and the speech Reid gives before the last boss.

Yeah, that speech didn't seem like him at all.

Just finished recently =) The game it's great, the FMV are gorgeous and the battles are crazy

The voice acting it's really bad u_u and men...I hate the Cramel Cage thing =3 Why you can't learn every spell normally? And the hi-ougi are hard to trigger >.<

But overall, this it's the best Tales game I have played.

Ive had my friends play it and they think it's cool but they say that the voices are bad.

alot of my friends got into tales after they played eternia i convince them that it was good and it was story keept my going loved it MAX is the best ever YEAH voice acting i didn;t mind at all cause i don't mind voice acting unless it is really terible but it was'nt put alot of effort into the game i think i loved it and i'm sure you would love it too sunny
