First was a controversial announcement, because the source was scarce, but then...

So there it is. Tales of Vesperia...?

Character designs are by Fujishima... I think.

Though announcing another game this early, WHAT ABOUT SWORD OF LEGENDIA, DAMN IT!?

Whoa...the difference in appearance compared to other tradition Tales games is huge.

TheSpasticFantastic - December 23, 2007 12:13 AM (GMT)
PS360, calling it now.

Lyrrad - December 25, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
The video's uploader thinks it's for the 360.

But any of the 3 consoles can hold these kinds of graphics.
If the Wii can hold graphics for games like Super Mario Galaxy, Brawl, and Twilight Princess, they can most definitely hold these.

And the PS3/X-Box 360 can utilize these graphics with no problems whatsoever.

Arel - December 25, 2007 11:09 PM (GMT)
My guess is on the 360 as well, unless Namco wants to experiment with the PS3, which is possible.

Ztrl - December 26, 2007 02:52 PM (GMT)
My general reaction to the news of the game, and the the trailer:

Revealing:

 :wubwub:

Trailer:

 *gasps for air* *clutches chest* *is revived*

:wubwub:

According to sources, it's for the XBOX360, considering that the 360 made a popular enterance, plus it's virtually the only system series without a Tales game (As in, there's like a PS series, GameBoy series, etc.) and the original XBOX doesn't have a Tales game... right?

shadowrep - December 28, 2007 12:08 PM (GMT)

Wait.. you mean that it's affordable to actually do that now? XD!

Happy happy happy happy!!

I'm so happy ^__^

Super happy that Halo 3 wasn't the only game I'm ever buying for the Xbox360, that is.

TheSpasticFantastic - December 30, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
awesome 360 release.

This means we might get dual language for the first time ever thanks to DVD-9s or whatever it uses. being big. It might come on multiple discs even.

Lyrrad - December 30, 2007 11:48 PM (GMT)
My heart is still set on the Wii.
But I already know it's going to be a 360 release, unfortunately.

A man can dream, though... but if I ever buy the 360 I'd like to try Idolm@sters and Eterna Sonata. Halo 3 is meh to me.

TheSpasticFantastic - December 31, 2007 12:21 AM (GMT)
idolmaster is more like idolmolester i'm not sure you'd like that.

i think there's a theme for it and lucky star though

Arel - December 31, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
Idolmaster is one of the reasons I wanted to get a Japanese 360. I just love most of the songs in it.

Lyrrad - January 4, 2008 01:37 AM (GMT)
On Motoi Sakuraba's English Website, it used to have what console Tales of Vesperia was for; the 360.

It seems he took it down already. Namco-Ch did the same thing on their source. Except it said Tales of Innocence in the source. XD

...What's the point? Everyone knows it'll be for 360 already.

Tienron - January 4, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
like the main character like the clothes another female swordie a par with chole no swordian master do not count aka rutee and philia) so far the characters look good no dissapointments here

shadowrep - January 20, 2008 11:36 AM (GMT)
>.> now this has gone to 360 i have lost all intrest will be buying a 360 around summer mabye because i am happy with my wii and ps3

Talesfan100 - January 23, 2008 03:55 AM (GMT)
I can't believe that there going to be having it on the Xbox 360. :(

Sunny - January 23, 2008 03:09 PM (GMT)
I'll be watching from the sidelines seeing how the game is on youtube when it comes out. I've not the luxury to spend money on the 360.

Seraphim Swordmaster - February 5, 2008 07:49 AM (GMT)
Any word on the character names yet?
For me, the pinkish-haired heroine seems like a bit of a Julia or a Jennifer... something beginning with J at any rate.
As for our dark-haired hero... hrm... maybe Sam? *Egged* :P

And now, on a completely unrelated note, I'm very happy that they showed Maelstrom/Tidal Wave/Whatever Water Spell It Was during the trailer. XD!

Lyrrad - February 24, 2008 01:34 AM (GMT)
Well, it's official.
A press release in the US informed us that Tales of Vesperia is going to be for the X-Box 360.

Yes, you read right, a press release in the US.

You know what this means, right?

Yep.
Even before any other information arises for the game, Tales of Vesperia is going to be localized, too.

Why? Because it's America's 10th Anniversary for the Tales Series. I bet Bill Gates is laughing right now.
....But ironically, so is Tales of Symphonia KoR. So, which takes the title of 10th Anniversary Game of Tales in America?

In other news, two character's names are revealed.

The black-haired man is called Yuri, and the other knight is known as Flynn

Arel - February 24, 2008 06:10 AM (GMT)
10th anniversary? Give us some of the PS2 games! Give us Destiny PS2 as 10 years of Destiny!

I don't think the localization has anything to do with anniversaries. It's just a coincidence.

Well the official site is up and running and it has A TON of stuff on it now.

I've been posting all the info I find about Vesperia (click)HERE. So hop on over and read up, it includes the exclusive interview from PLAY magazine and everything that IGN has.

Lyrrad - April 26, 2008 01:54 AM (GMT)
Here's what I think of Vesperia so far:

The AWESOME:
Character designs, and what the plot is coming too.
Encounter-Linking, the ability for monsters to join the fight.
More than 4 monsters at once and not pathetic like the Chirpees in Abyss.
The freshest and most wonderful graphics ever for a Tales game.

The OKAY:
Ability to post hi-scores of Combos and such online. Great for people like Shinryu or Nore.
Stacking the Overlimit Gauge and using stuff like faster Artes, Cancel out of Artes, Hi-Ougi, and Invincibility. This looks like it can break the game's difficulty, especially the first 2.

The BAD:
You can't stack the Overlimit Gauge with all 4 characters, it's shared among them. That's actually pretty dumb...

The UGLY:
Downloading EXP. Seriously, WTF?

Other than that, Vesperia is lookin' fine.
