Title: Why hate?

Ace_O_Spades - March 15, 2005 02:12 AM (GMT)
Why are there so many Kobe haters in the world? Is it envy? He didn't get Phil Jackson fired, it was a smart business move on the Lakers part. 10 million a year for a coach who can't win a title with 3 future hall of famers in the lineup(malone was injured) is absurd. 30 million for a Shaq with no work ethic? No sir, he was going to opt out regardless so they had to trade him and the only teams offering real talent were in the west, and they weren't about to give Dallas rings. Rape case? Sorry, not guilty. Fuckin bitch was lying her ass off just cus she's a hater as well. She also has mental issues to work out. Thanks bitch, becuz of you everyone hates Kobe

But here's what peplexes me the most; he's playing extremely well, but the haters don't commend his play..AT ALL. THey just blow it off as if they don't know what's going on. If you're gonna hate, at least give him credit when credit's due

It's a good thing. You don't see anyone hating a shitty player or team.
I hate the lakers but I love to see them in the Play offs and play them.

Ace_O_Spades - March 15, 2005 02:20 AM (GMT)
What I'm saying is that there are people who unconditionally hate Kobe Bryant. For absolutely no reason, they just pass judgements on him.

GoSonics206 - March 15, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
I am one of those people and I don't care. He plays selfishly and he is the single most arrogant player in the NBA. I hate him, always have and always will.

I hate him for the way he acts on the court, brushing his shoulder off after dunks and etc just get to me.
I hate C Webb for the same types of actions.

Dice - March 15, 2005 02:31 AM (GMT)
Millions of fans agree, for some reason Kobe always comes off as arrogant. It's not just me, ask anybody. There must be something to it if we all see the same quality in the guy.

GoSonics206 - March 15, 2005 02:35 AM (GMT)
This guy thinks he can make any shot and doesn't hesitate to shoot every time he has the ball. If he was a more selective with his shots and passed the ball off when he didn't have a good look I thinkt he lakers would be doing much better and I think there would be far less haters. However, that's not Kobe's nature so it will never happen.

Kobe's potential to draw double teams is huge, so why not try some kick-outs or something?

Shadyrock - March 15, 2005 02:37 AM (GMT)
Plus the guy raped a chick and admitted it. How can you dig a guy like that?

GoSonics206 - March 15, 2005 02:41 AM (GMT)
I think the girl was lying about the rape, but that doesn't stop me from hating him.

Well just like the Mike Tyson rape the chick was stupid for going to the room, But the savage way they treated the women is crazy stuff.
Put Marv Albert in with them 2.

4.3 turnovers per game as well, by far his worst season turnover-wise.

Waqas - March 15, 2005 03:06 AM (GMT)
It's mostly because of his rape trial.

Smith - March 15, 2005 03:26 AM (GMT)
Even before the rape accusations, Bryant was a hated player.

It was him against O'Neal, and people hated him for thinking he was better. It was him hitting game winning shots, and then drawing Jordan comparisons. The general public played a role in what he is today, and they are the same one's that critizice him. Yes, he is arrogant, yes, he takes terrible shots, yes, he drove some people out of town.

Love and Hate: Kobe Bryant

AIfan1330 - March 15, 2005 05:37 AM (GMT)
Love him or Hate him, his talent cannot be denied. Time and time again, he defies the norm with his amazing plays and clutch shooting. I for one am not particularly fond of Kobe, but even a bird-brain can't deny that.

Of course, those 4 TO's are an issue. That means he isn't kicking it out enough as GoSonics said. He needs to let other people handle the ball more. I think Lamar Odom and other players might actually get intimidated by Kobe a little, knowing that if they make a mistake, Kobe will be all over them. Kobe needs to take some pressure off himself and his teammates, and let them get a feel for the ball. Let Odom create for himself a little more. If they're not gonna double Odom, he will score. If they do double him, he can pass it and find the open man. Odom is a weapon that the Lakers are not taking advantage of. It's no coincidence that Odom was playing great last year and terribly this year.

Lone Wolf - March 15, 2005 04:00 PM (GMT)
Ok let's get this straight.

He has more RPG
He has more APG
He has more PPG (I think?)
He has more TO
He has more SPG
He has more BPG

He is inproving besides the fact he has gotten worse in TOs.

--This is what I saw the last time I looked at his stats--

Most of his improvements are numbers that he has put up in the past, just not last year. The only things he's really doing that he hasn't done in the past is getting more assists and turning the ball over more. Also notice how all his shooting percentages have fallen.
In fact, his FG% is his lowest since his rookie year.

Lone Wolf - March 15, 2005 06:07 PM (GMT)
I am comparing when he was with Shaq and when he isn't with Shaq. (Past 2 yrs)

GoSonics206 - March 15, 2005 06:08 PM (GMT)
He was with Shaq last year.

Lone Wolf - March 15, 2005 06:08 PM (GMT)
You posted too quick. I said the past 2 yrs. This and last.

Shadyrock - March 15, 2005 06:11 PM (GMT)
The Lakers really need to trade them. Jackson and others have said the lakers made the wrong choice because Big men are harder to find,
The Lakers need to bring back a once proud franchis by getting rid of the cloud Kobe brings.
Kobe would be better of in a remote city were he can be forgotten and hog the ball all he wants.

GoSonics206 - March 15, 2005 06:12 PM (GMT)
Well he was with Shaq for a long time so why not compare all his years with Shaq with this year. Especially since last year there were a lot more guys demanding the ball and it was a completely different team than any other year.

Lone Wolf - March 15, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
I am just saying that he can improve in most areas without Shaq. All he needs to do is teach the other players how to play.

Karl was injured and Payton didn't do well.

Shadyrock - March 15, 2005 06:16 PM (GMT)
It's not even just Shaq, they need a true Center that can play like Shaq. Thats what the need to address this off season.
Trade Odom for a good C.

Easier said than done. There are few very "real centers". most of them are just oversized power forwards

I hear ya but they need to address the Center spot in the draft then. Or get under the Cap and go after a guy like Garnett.

GoSonics206 - March 15, 2005 08:09 PM (GMT)
The Wolves would never ever EVER give up Garnett. He epitomizes Minnesota basketball.
