Yes. WHY THE FUCK IS DIRK IN 1st TEAM?
AIfan1330 - May 18, 2005 11:37 PM (GMT)
Nice to see Marion finally get some recognition! The Suns big 3 made it...nice job!

I wouldn't argue with it altho Amare is not a true center and Ben is...Anyway, they actually got something right this time. Except for Gilbert Arenas. He's overrated and is not as good as Chauncey. He gets Chauncey's all star spot and now on an all-nba team. That's not right. I'm not saying Chauncey should be on the 3rd team but I'm saying Gilbert shouldn't.

Dirk got first team because he had good stats and a great team.
I pretty much agree with it all.
Lone Wolf - May 19, 2005 12:01 AM (GMT)
Yes but TD, Steve and Shaq are good scorers.
ballorama. - May 19, 2005 12:27 AM (GMT)
Its all good they all deserve it.

Why shouldn't Dirk be on First-Team? He has steadily improved over the past couple of years, and the only reason he got stuck on Third-Team last year was because of the horrible experiment the Mavericks had by bringing in Antoine Walker, who takes too many shots, and Jamison, who takes a lot of shots too. He averaged a double-double throughout 90% of the season, and is fourth in the league in points. The only player to be in top 10 in both rebounding and scoring. Led his team to the third best record in the west. Fourth best in the entire NBA. Although he gets help from the role players on the Mavs, he has taken more of a leadership role every since Nash left. His role players are inconsistent. One day, its Finley scoring in the 30s; another day it's Terry, then Stackhouse. Dirk is the only consistent player on the Mavs. He has improved his defense a lot. If Nash is on First-Team, it's not because of his D. Dirk deserves it.
Overall, I agree with the teams. It was disappointing to see TMAC on third team when Ray Allen got less votes than him and still managed to be on second team.

Well, I'm gonna see Waqas brag about it and make this topic a love Dirk fest.
ballorama. - May 19, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
WOW TWF you kinda sound like Waqas , but you are right about it.
Also info* I am watching ESPN News and they are saying that the NBA and NBPA are breaking negotoliations i dont know the full details thats all they are saying.

About Dirk, I just had something so say. He made history by being the first Mav to be in the NBA First-Team. I thought Mark Aguirre did it a long time ago, but 2 of the 5 first-team players were Reserves in the All-Star Game. Nash and Nowitzki. Amare and Ray Allen weren't Starters for the Second-Team, as well as Dwayne Wade, surprisingly. Ben Wallace and Gilbert Arenas were both Reserves, and Shawn Marion didn't make the All-Star Game.
ballorama. - May 19, 2005 01:02 AM (GMT)
Marion did by the way. :D

The teams are fair, I don't know about putting Allen in front of Kobe, but it's a close call. Ray Allen is a superstar, no matter what people say about him. But Kobe can't be held for his team's poor play.

It seems strange seeing Garnett on the Second Team, but that's what he should be on.
I have no problems with the picks. James and Wade on the second team :)
ballorama. - May 19, 2005 12:51 PM (GMT)
I am not happy with tmac being in 3rd he deserves 2nd but its not gonna work out Lebron deserves 2nd so does Wade but Tmac does alsoIf i voted i would probabbly take Wade out of 2nd and put him in 3rd.
Waqas - May 19, 2005 11:15 PM (GMT)
Dude, being on any team is great. Carmelo didn't make any team, but he's still awesome, right?
Lone Wolf - May 19, 2005 11:27 PM (GMT)
No I hate his attitude and Andre Miller was a big help too.
ballorama. - May 20, 2005 12:05 AM (GMT)
yeah Waqas your right i thought Ginobli would make a team but it didnt work out but he is a great player.
Waqas - May 20, 2005 12:38 AM (GMT)
10 players on the All NBA Teams had teams that were productive. If you thought KG or Melo should be MVP, just look at what I just said.
Sealy - May 20, 2005 12:42 AM (GMT)
Why are you even brining up MVP? First off, nobody even brought up the MVP. Secondly, Carmelo for MVP? I could name 30 better MVP canidates than him.
