Figured I'd make a thread about what to do to improve your team. Here's what I got for the Nets

a) Sign & trade with Portland and give him the max available contract...6 years 39 million I think. Trade our Clippers pick if they don't take our pick

B) Use the mid-level exception to sign Cliff Robinson and Keyon dooling (3 million a year to Keyon, 2 million a year to Cliff)

c) Resign Travis Best and Rodney Buford to fill out the rest of our roster

D) Don't waive Ron Mercer, he's a good asset off the bench

Here's the new roster

SG- Carter
SF- Jefferson
PF- Abdur Rahim
C- Krstic

and the backups

Backup PG- Keyon Dooling
Backup SG- Ron Mercer
Backup SF- Antoine Wright
Backup PF- Cliff Robinson
Backup C- Jason Collins

Wild card backups Travis Best and Rondey Buford

We go four deep in the front court, which is perfect to battle a team like Detroit

The Los Angeles Lakers...

1) Trade George and Slava for Jonathan Bender

2) Sign Kwame Brown with the MLE

3) Trade Caron, Grant (expiring contract, Thorn) and Atkins for Kidd and a filler

4) Sign Von Wafer, re-sign Luke Walton

5) Scottie Pippen joins coaching staff for Odom

Lakers end up looking like this:

C - Kwame/Mihm/Bynum
PF - Turiaf/Bender/Cook
SF - Odom/Walton/Jones
SG - Kobe/Wafer
PG - Kidd/Vujacic

That's a pipe, really...because I don't think Thorn would bite for the expiring contract (yet he can pick up a big man in 2007 with it).

Otherwise, we do everything else and get Antonio Daniels using our MLE, instead of Kwame Brown...maybe sign-and-trade for Kwame (George and Cook) instead of Bender. Then we look like this:

C - Mihm/Bynum/Divac
PF - Kwame/Turiaf
SF - Odom/Butler/Jones
SG - Kobe/Walton/Wafer
PG - Daniels/Atkins/Vujacic

The thing about Kwame Brown is that he is a restricted FA, and according to many news reports the Wizards are waving good-bye to Larry Hughes. That leaves some extra money for keeping Kwame, which they have indicated they will do.

well i don think if the nets will trade j-kidd. but daniels looks like a good sign

Yeah Kidd to anywhere won't happen

But I can see Antonio Daniels in LA and possibly Kwame if they can work out a sign and trade

Sign Jalen Rose, or Michael Finley to come off the bench. I don't think we need much more than that.
