Title: Artest Trade thread

Where do you think Ron Artest will go?

I would love to see him go to L.A which would be awesome. But reallisticly I think Isiah will snach him.

Lone Wolf - December 15, 2005 11:16 PM (GMT)
If LA, that would be weird... I wouldn't mind seeing him join the Knicks.. with Marbury.. lol

ballorama. - December 16, 2005 12:12 AM (GMT)
I've actually heard a few reports that he might be going to the Raptors but nothing can be true right now since you got 15 teams chasing Artest.

Pacers_4_lyfe - December 17, 2005 07:59 PM (GMT)
I think he'll stay w/ Indy... I just can't see him playin anywhere else even though he wants too.

Vinsanity - December 17, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
He isnt staying with indiana and indiana dosnt want him, they said if no trade gets put through he will be on the IR for the rest of the season

HFC6 - December 18, 2005 05:10 PM (GMT)
Donnie Walsh said that Ron Artest has officially played his last game as a Pacer. As far as he is concerned, Ron Artest is gone. They are trying to maximize their options for Ron. The top rumors I have heard are L.A., Golden State, and Denver. I know that Portland is trying at him, too.

I think they obviously get rid of him. If they are going to sit him on the shelf for the rest of the season, it is obviously better to get something for him than nothing at all.

Pacers_4_lyfe - December 18, 2005 07:56 PM (GMT)
All I know is, I hope he goes somewhere out West, lol.

In the Minneapolis paper this morning it was reported that Minnesota could possibly be interested. Indiana would not do a deal that doesn't involve Wally Szcerbiak, but the tough part is their salaries are significantly different. They would have to send a filler, which means we would have to send some sort of draft pick(s).

The trade is risky, especially considering Szczerbiak has been playing very good offensively lately. I can't remember the last time he didn't score 20 points in a game. But his defense still isn't there and probably never will be. I would much rather take Artest's 19 points per game and shutdown defense. Yes, he has a lot of screws loose in his head, but I think we are at a point where we have to take some chances.

PG- Jaric
SG- Hassell
SF- Artest
PF- Garnett
C- Olowokandi

That is a whole damn lot of defense in one starting lineup, opposing teams would have a very tough time. It will be weird to think that Hassell wouldn't be our number one defender anymore, so now he can take an even easier role on the defensive end, and would back up Artest when he would go out.

It's all speculation, but I like it.

If I were Minny, I would be focused on getting the Center they need, but the Artest-KG duo could do some damage on the defensive and offensive threat. Inside and Outside defenders playing together. Itt could work actually, but not sure if Artest would even like to play with Da Big Ticket.

Smith - December 23, 2005 08:26 PM (GMT)
If he can play with Jermaine O'Neal (yes, they did have a few problems) he can play with Garnett. He [Garnett] is very adaptable to new things. I don't think Artest would have a problem with playing with one of the best in the world.

ballorama. - December 28, 2005 04:22 PM (GMT)
Wow, I dont think SA want to trade Ginobli. He loves San Antonio and San Antonio loves him. I dont think it will happen.

According to Mark Stein the top 3 teams chasing Artset are...

1. Minnesota- they are trying to keep KG happy expect to see Eddie Griffin and Rashad Mccants or something in the deal.
2. Denver- They want Artest more than anyone but they need a 3 team trade for it to work.
3. Los Angeles Lakers they have been chasing Artest since Phil came back but they also need a 3 team trade for it to work.
