Hello everyone!
Just got back from Rhyl and I’d thought I’d tell you all about it coz I had the most fantastic night. We had great seats, had a good laugh, got loads of piccys and even got to meet Paddy afterwards – o and to top it off, I have made Linda’s wish come true!
Anyway, when we got to the Pavillon we had a couple of drinks before going into the show. We where sitting on the front row of the balcony, which to be fair, were quite good seats. Rod was great and still had me giggling away like mad and John thought he was really good too.
By the time Paddy came on I was really excited, he had me in stitches over ‘Boner’ and Pete from Big Brother. He was as good as ever and did his same act with a few little extras thrown in. One of his jokes backfired though were he pretends to shake a guys hand, well the fella got in there first and pulled a tongue at Paddy! Paddy’s reaction was fantastic, giggling away to himself whilst trying to sing and dance!
Quite a few people shouted things out to him from the audience throughout the show, such as ‘baldy bouncer’ etc and I’ve gotta say Paddy was very quick and clever to put them in their place straight away – he was amazing!
I love his show to bits and could seriously watch it over and over again. A lot of the things go over your head first time round, or maybe you just laugh too much to hear the following joke, but each time I have been I’ve noticed more and more!
After the show my boyfriend asked me if I wanted to try and meet Paddy. (He previously told me there was no chance in the world that he would let me meet him after the show!) He knew I’d brought a Wedding card for Linda and her hubby, just in case we did bump into Paddy, so he must have felt guilty!
Anyway now to the juicy bit! We walked around the back and there was a small group of people waiting for Paddy. They were really excited, it was funny! John (my boyfriend) went for a walk whilst I waited. This is when Paddy and Tony came out. All the girls crowded around Paddy, so I went I said hi to Tony. He was great and he signed the wedding card first. I then walked down to Paddy and waited my turn! As I was waiting he asked for a pen, so he borrowed mine. As he looked at me he said ‘o hello again’ and asked how I was. I was really pleased coz he remembered me! A group of girls ran back over at this point to return his bottle of water that they accidently robbed! They were really funny and made me laugh coz they asked if I was his girlfriend!
Well one by one all the girls went and then he turned to me. There was just the 2 of us. We had a little chat as he was signing Linda’s card and something for me. He really is lovely, I think I’d completely forgot at this stage that I am meant to have a boyfriend! Infact the only time that I remembered was when I needed somebody to take my photo! I looked around and saw John over by the cars, I called him over and he took the photo. Paddy had a nosey and said it was a nice photo and we walked up to his car together and said our goodbyes. As we were walking away Paddy shouted that I’ll have to look out for myself on his DVD!

Sounds like you had a great time!! I think it's brilliant that Paddy keeps evolving his act and keeping it fresh -- so many comedians seemingly go through the same routine and it can get old, but the way he puts new stuff in, uses the crowd and improvises is great!! It another reason I don't mind keep going to see him!! ......

That and the fact the boy is fiiiiine!!! :lol: :wub: :wub:

another great report of a fab nite!! i can't wait for the DVD then I can watch the show over and over ;) So glad you got to meet Paddy and tony after and got Lindas card signed, she will be made up (thumbs up)

Thanks Mel! The seats were great. I was a bit worried because I was told you need to be over 5 foot 8 to see over the balcony and as you can see from my photos I am really petite! The staff there were lovely and said if I have any problems then they will move us, they even found me at the interval to ask if everything was ok! How sweet!!!

Absolutely brilliant review and pics, wow!! You did us proud there, and Linda and Gary will be well impressed. I took their wedding card with me too,but came away with it unsigned as I was with baby Max's parents and they needed to get back to him and didn't want to leave me alone waiting.

I remember how down you were last Wednesday about the prospect of not seeing him especially so high up as well, but look at you girl!!! All those pics and seeing him after, I am speechless!

I can't wait for his DVD to come out to relive it and also maybe even see something new as well.

Marlene you were right to go home and not wait alone. In the society that we live in today we have to be careful. I don't know about where you live, but where I am from - you don't walk alone in the dark!
I was really pleased to meet them both afterwards and feel really guilty calling my boyfriend a sod last week! He must love me after all!
I love the photo of me and Paddy too, but the funny thing about that photo is at the time I really didn't remember him wearing a cap or gigs, it was only in the pub later when John said something about his glassers and I said "what glassers, he wasn't wearing any"! I was having done of it until I looked at the photo on my camera - I really am dizzy!

Hello everyone...talk of it being a Small World!

I was also at the Rhyl Gig on the Friday...on the Balcony second row. Never seen 2 hours go by so quick and as Paddy said - hands down Rhyl is better than Cardiff! (Excit) (OOO)

R I must have been sitting right infront of you! The seats were ok weren't they. Did you hear the lad who kept shouting number 27 in a very strong scouse accent, and Paddy heard him and took the micky! That had me in stitches, he did a very good scouse impression! Did you meet him after the show?

What's the number 27 all about?

I was wondering too -- come on ...... spill!!! Or is it something we should already realise??

O sorry!
Somebody put a question in saying 'Paddy do you fancy the LAD sitting in seat 27!'
Paddy said put the "lights up lets see" and then somebody shouted "me" nearer the front.
Paddy just said something like "I don't do s@uts with nuts" and then moved on to the next question. A few mins later someone near the back shouts "27", Paddy ignores him, then again "F@c?ing 27!"
Everybody then looks back and Paddy repeats him in the strongest scouse accent ever, then says something like keep up, we've had that one!
Obviously somebody pinched the lads question so he was probably a bit mad, but it was reallt funny. The same thing happened to me and Katie in Blackpool and we were having none of it and shouted "she's lying thats our question!" so I can imagine how he felt bless him!!!
