Name of the DVD/series: Phoenix Nights Series One

Episode Number: 5

Overall rating out of 5: 4/5

Main Characters? Sian Foulkes again as Mary. The dwarves also appear in this episode, the same ones that appear in the Amarillo vid with Pete.

What’s the episode about: This episode begins with Max and Paddy fighting off the dwarves whilst Potter looks on. We then see Jerry at the hospital having a camera "introduced??" into a sensitive area. Back at the Phoenix, Potter and the gang are preparing for Robot Wars and Alternative Comedy Night. Max and Paddy bride Ray who makes them a robot so they can win robot wars, whilst a gang of students cause havoc in the "Funny Farm". Jerry manages to recover from the heckling of the students, and is offered the chance to break into cruise entertainment. Meanwhile, Max and Paddy are cheating their way to the prize fund in robot wars. The students get chucked out and we get a rare glimpse of Phoenix solidarity as the boys stick up for Jerry when the student gets lairy. The episode ends with (IMO) the best audition piece, The Rumbergers.

What extras does this DVD have? only have the videos, but it will have commentary and ? deleted scenes.

What made you laugh out loud?
Paddy: Prostitutes are rough in A,sterdam, when i went she made me wash me old man in't sink.
Max: what, yer took yer dad??? Also the irony that Jerry is watching ASS (Armchair Super Store) at the doctors!!!!
Also the way they all crack up during the audition, i thought Lord Spikey and King Archie of Kelly would wet their kecks.

What was your favourite part?
Brian: I used to be able to do that you know (huge hoot of laughter from Toby foster)
Brian: I did Lesley.
It really cracks me up when Pete starts laughing

Available to buy in any self respecting video/music/superstore

Love this ep!! Love the opening -- "How far away are they??" And when the students turn up and Paddy doesn't get what they're saying!!

And the Rumbergers!!! Cripes -- you have to see the other version of that in Deleted Scenes on the DVD!!! Both make me crack every time!!!

How can you not like this episode! It has everything! Poor dave spikey had to get his arse on camera for the doctor to say 'oohh shelia thats dirty, will you give it a wipe! Meaning the screen, not his arse! Thems ya bowels!

Brian is ace in the episode, have you ever kissed a girl? That guy does sound a bit camp! The robots were shoddy, but thats what makes it so funny, plus rayvons 'Terminator' look! Makes it hilarious.

Max and paddy are funny, especially with the 'fanny farm' bit and when that girl asks max if they take NUS! I don't take any of that sh*t love! My bodies a temple!

Class episode!, Love it to bits :)
